My Creations files not showing up in game.

Hi, I've been trying to solve this for a long time but have not found any solutions yet.

The "My Creations" folders are filled with creations I have made over the years on various machines but always with the same account, yet almost none of them (20 out of around 800) are showing up in my Sporepedia (at least where they should be under "My creations" tab.

I also cannot drag and drop them into the game, when I try it nothing happens.

Again I have always used the same Spore account and never had issue with it except for this.

Any ideas how to solve this ? I would be very grateful.

Putting your own already-shared creations in the “My Spore Creations” folder can cause them to be loaded by the game, but not be properly categorized as being your own creations. If this is the case, then they should actually be in your Sporepedia in the “Everything” tab.

There is also a bug with creations from the campaign mode which are automatically shared (which doesn’t actually share them). Because of the way it is broken, multiple creations can have the same sharing ID number, and in cases where there are multiple creations with a conflicting ID, if you try to load them from the PNGs on a new computer, the game will only ever load whichever one is imported first. This shouldn’t affect creations which appear on the website.

I’m not sure if there is an easy solution to either of these issues

Have you tried dragging the PNGs directly into an editor? If it loads, the creation is fine, but if you get “creation cannot be loaded error”, then there might be something wrong with the file or your installation, and if it loads a completely different creation, then that creation is probably affected by the auto-sharing issue I mentioned.

Oh the first option is correct ! They are indeed inside the Everything tab

and under the right account

Loading them directly inside the editor does work

Any ideas how to attribute them back under My creation tab ?

I have an old backup of the roaming folder, should I try to replace my current roaming with it ? Or merge them maybe ?

You’d want to remove them from the “My Spore Creations” folder before doing that, or just rename that entire folder so that the game doesn’t see it. To reimport them, you’d want to drag the PNGs directly into the game instead of putting them in the folder.

If the backup is from after the first time the game loaded them in from MSP, then reverting to it might not do anything

If you have any save files you want to keep, then you can’t completely reset the Spore AppData folder, which would I think fix this (if you first remove/rename “My Spore Creations” and then manually drag them into the game)

Hmm the backup might have not have been done in time yes, but I will try this method. I do have save files so I will at least make a save of My creations and Roaming folders

The My creation folder is empty, but unfortunately the drag and drop does not work, my creations are still under Everything

If I reset my roaming folder to try and solve this, do you think I could import my saves back ? By that I mean could I import my Games folder into the restored roaming folders, or would this simply not work because of other files ?

If not, It is fine, they were all recent saves

Unfortunately, the save games are dependent upon the files that hold all of your downloaded creations (“Pollination.package”, possibly “Pollination001.package”, etc., if you have a lot), so as far as I know there is no way to reset those creations in your Sporepedia without breaking the savegames (every creation in the game will be randomized, though the saves may technically still work). Resetting the Pollination files should clear out your Sporepedia and let you drag them into the game.

Those may be creations that were downloaded from the servers instead of being loaded from “My Spore Creations”, and also unshared creations may get categorized correctly when imported. I know that creations made with an offline user do end up in “My Creations” (the ones saved under your Windows username because you weren’t logged in to an account), so it may be the same for other unshared things.

I did reset everything and drag and dropping worked, I have restored 600+ creations so I tahnk you very much

I will see If I can import some saves back

I replaced everything in roaming exept pollination and it looks like it worked
