Cannot play game

I own the steam version of spore, and since i have gotten a new computer, every time i press 'play', steam will say the game is running for less than 2 seconds and then immediately the 'running' button will turn back to 'play'. When verifying file integrity, it says 1 file is missing and will be acquired, but steam never acquired it. Attempts have been made to reinstall the game, which is met with the same issue. Press Play, shows as running for less than 2 seconds while the game itself never even appears in its own window, closes entirely, back to the Play button. Help????

I have tried that and it did mention a .dll, how do i get a hold of the dll?

Validating your files on steam. If this doesn't work, you could try backing up your creations, then reinstalling. Ignore this I am blind lol

I have already explained in the original message that I've tried both of those things....

Did you reinstall the base game and the dlc?

I dont have the DLC but i have reinstalled the base game about 5 times

Try going to the file location, (Right click game -> Properties -> Installed Files -> Browse) and look for the dll in Sporebin. If it's there, move it out of the folder, and attempt to validate it again.
