Before I get started, I wanna take a moment of silence for our fallen comrades from CBT1 who got locked out of this one just because they're running on IOS. We'll miss you guys, and hope to see you again next time 😭

If you've watched the video diary post CBT1, the devs mentioned that a single person wrote over 4,000 words of feedback during that one week.

Well... that was me.

And it was closer to 6,000 words (I compiled it after the video came out), with exactly 150 individual pieces of feedback over roughly 50-60 hours of gameplay over a single week.

(Yes, I have a life. I just love this game a LOT. In fact, I find it more fun than any Monster Hunter game that's come out in many years)

So, I'll use the same format here as last time, and I'll post numbered pieces of feedback until the end of the beta. I believe, based on the event timers in-game, that this beta will be running for 28 days, so I'll aim to provide as much feedback as I keep playing every (most) days until the game shuts down!

#

So, let's get started!

  1. REDACTED IGNORE THIS ONE
#

Onto actual feedback for this current beta

  1. The general UI is GREAT. I love how the battle UI matches the UI in the menus, how everything is separated properly.
  2. Where the UI kind of has issues is where it comes to all those hidden screens with hidden collectibles and hidden events. There is so much stuff hidden everywhere, I think most of those menus would benefit from a "CLAIM ALL" button so we don't have to search through each of those pages.
#
  1. Also, a lot of the notifications seems difficult to see. I often click on a button with a notification on the main menu, claim a bunch of stuff, exit, only to see the notification again. And then I click and I look everywhere, and I find a tiny little red dot in a corner on an icon I never saw before. One option would be to make those notifications FLASH back and forth, or add a bit of movement to the notification icon so it catches your eye better. It's easy to miss it, especially when the notification color is similar to the background (red dot on orange menu). Another alternative would be to make the notification a BRIGHT GREEN color that clashes with the menu, or have it change color between contrasting color (ex: Green -> Red -> Yellow -> Purple -> Greed). Anything you can add to make those pop off and be more visible will help greatly

  1. Tutorials are GREAT. So clear, very well explained, I love how they guide you to do the thing, and I also love that if you know what you're doing, you can go through them SUPER fast
#
  1. Likewise, I feel like a lot of mobile games are very bogged down by slow menu navigation. Outside of what I wrote on point 4, I feel like this game's menu navigation is super sharp and fast. I love it.
#
  1. The combat is true Monster Hunter with a gacha twist. It's sharp, it's responsive, and if your device is good, it runs really well.
  2. The characters feel (mostly) true to their given weapon (except you, flying HBG girl, but I love you so I'm not mad). And that's a huge plus for this game. We can tell you put a lot of effort into honoring the franchise while also trying to keep it fresh
  3. The Radiant monsters are an excellent solution to the insane gacha movesets. They're fast, they hit like a truck, and they force you to play the game like it's a Monster Hunter game and not just a one-button delete-the-monster gacha game.
#
  1. Another place where the UI gets a little convoluted is with all the shops hidden away in the menus. I thought they were all in one menu, but then I found more in other menus. I'd recommend keeping all the shops in a single place so it's more user-friendly
#
  1. I love that you can (slowly) buy insight and even palico's. I hope this remains when the game launches and that it also include new ones. That way we can save up resources and buy the new SSR companion without wasting all our resources.
#
  1. I love all the ways you can get stronger in the game. Everything feels pretty meaningful.
  2. This one deserves its own spot. I especially love the illustrations system. It combines Genshin Impacts' Artifact system without the annoying energy bogging down your progress. Just keep on killing until you get the right drop. This feels really good, especially since the illustrations can be upgraded, can have new modifiers added onto them, AND they have set bonuses. I love this.
#
  1. With actual combat, one issue I faced is that the game seems balanced for single player damage, but it's a 4-player game. So I find that the monsters die a bit too fast. I wish there was a bit more scaling, so the monsters have a little more HP if you have a full party, without entirely negating the presence of your party members. A 25-50% HP bonus per party member (or more) could solve that.
#
  1. The buildings are fun and fast. The first time I used the catapult, I was like "whoa.". I have not upgraded the glider yet, but I hope they remain really good and worth using. I'll report back once I'm further into the game.
#
  1. I'm not a fan of the stage selection menu for the hunts for upgrade materials. Having every difficulty in a list feels like a lot of visual clutter. I wonder if one option would be to keep the category, but instead of listing every difficulty, you could have a big button right under with <> buttons on each side. Kinda like < DIFFICULTY 1 > and if you click > it becomes <DIFFICULTY 2>. That would help a lot with the visual clutter there.
#
  1. I love that we can use characters' ultimate abilities on cue. However, I find that I often miss the cue when it's ready to be used. It seems like the circle just gets a little brighter. But when you're focused on the fight, it is easy to miss, because you can't take your eyes away from the monster for too long. My recommendation here would be to make each of those buttons GLOW or MOVE or have some kind of big sunshine pattern appearing around the character portrait. Much like the notification feedback I said as 4, I think we need something that REALLY draws our visual attention to them, otherwise we miss them. The text that pops up is too easy to miss, too.
#
  1. HP bar is WAY too small for me. I might have missed an option to increase the UI size (I'll check later and edit this if there is one) but I'm constantly missing the fact that I'm about to die because the bar isn't large enough for me. I think this falls into the same category of feedback I've already mentioned, where we need a better way to highlight the important information so we don't miss anything we need to keep our focus on
#
  1. Once I kill a small monster, I feel like it takes too much time before I can carve them for loot. I find myself standing around for several seconds, and sometimes wonder if it's glitched or if it just doesn't give loot.

# uneven copper **Onto actual feedback for this current beta** 1. The general UI is GREAT. I lov...

The obscene number of nested rewards screens scattered all around the UI is something that seems to plague every gacha game out there. Seriously, just condense it into one rewards screen with tabs for different sections like events, quests, mail, etc.

It seems like gacha devs are scared to do this for some reason, it's not like it will diminish the gacha system in any way, it just makes keeping up with all the claim-ables more convenient and fluid, especially with how often you have to claim stuff.
