MISCOMMUNICATION W/ PLAYER STATS
**BUG DEBUNKED: IF YOU HAVE AFTB (afterburner) CHIP installed, half magika will not allow Divine Blade to be used. **

I wanted to do more testing before posting but it was frustrating enough to where I felt it should be noted to see if anyone else experienced this. (No key tracker, bad video, sorry devs!)

On Sinner Mode Only, when selecting Divine Blade as your Magika, your keybind is locked and the skill is unable to be used.

Notes:

  • Changing keybinds midmatch does not fix the bug
  • The order of unlocking Divine Smite does not matter (1st, 2nd magika...etc.)
  • Choosing the Primary or Secondary slot skill does not matter
  • Replacing it with a new skill fixes the keybind to be usable again.

Huh...? That's very weird. Did it happen only once?

nope, every time. I've never been able to use Divine Blade in Sinner mode.

are you using the afterburner chip module, that reduces your magicka by half?

with half magicka, divine blade becomes uncastable

i ran into the same issue running an all-melee spika build 🥲 i know the pain!

i'm planning to put it in my feedback thread later, but i think it would be cool if instead of divine blade being an all-or-nothing spell, it had charge levels with a scaling mana cost (and impact similar to wylder ult in nightreign, which honestly it's pretty close to now imo. divine blade is strong!)

this would keep its high-power impact at high mana costs, and still make it usable at low mana cost for afterburner builds!

Great suggestion here. WIll definitely give you the thumbs up on your post!

Agreed that Divine Blade is GOATED and that is a great way of balancing it.

I also still think Devs need to better communicate visually to players those stats (could just be a vfx goof that they didnt want to bother diving into with the alpha). I was under the assumption that DB uses full bar and so when I still saw the 3 markers on the bottom, I believed it visually was able to trigger DB when instead, it statistically couldn't trigger the attack.
