On pass plays you cant slide protection his way all the time cause teams will overload the opposite side or start to blitz. And sliding to a player is like sending 3 OL to block 2 DL and then you have 2 OL vs 2 DL the other side to keep it simple.

Teams will force you to slide away from their best player by threatening to blitz the opposite side to get a 1 on 1. Teams will still have a TE and RB release his way to slow em down

Crosby a great enough player to get home with TE or RB chips/outside releases

And with football what matters the most is staying ahead of the chains. Dont ever want to be in a 2nd and long or 3rd and medium+ situation cause teams will set up pass rushes to get a 1 on 1 that they feel like will win, or blitz. If The panthers cant get out of these situations, its gonna be a long day for em

I get that, sliding only works when you have linemen you can trust w their 1-on-1s, and i dont think panthers really have that. In order to have that protection theyll prolly have to run a lot of 11-12 personel, and even then they wouldnt have a lot of time cause crosby is him
