[Exploit] Bunny Hopping enables very fast movement with little stamina spending.

The technique enables recovery of stamina mid air by releasing "w" key.

This enables the player to run while jumping with barely more stamina spending than regular running.

This can be fixed simply by either changing the stamina taken when the player jumps, or make so that the player keeps losing stamina while mid air.

When wearing a Fine Gas Mask, this can be used to keep the player far away from the threshold that decreases visibility with the lens fog.

And with very precise timing, using the Fine Gas Mask, in some jumps you are even able to end up positive on stamina, meaning you gain stamina from running that way.

Although I already have bunny hopping experience from games like Half-Life (1998) and Quake, it's not that hard to hit the jumps consistently. As it just requires the player to press shift+w at the moment it hits the floor. for the speed to be kept.

To require the player to be on a surface for stamina regeneration, would be a significant nerf.
Though there is still the avoidable loss of stamina while running midair as the player jumps. Which would be fixed by removing the jump inertia.
And about the jump inertia, i think it's pretty odd, since what is supposed to be inertial has reference on the player's orientation.

Jump making the player temporarily unable to run after landing is another possibility.

One way to measure how broken can bunny hopping be is to jump repeatedly in place.

Jumping repeatedly in place is like idealizing a consistent precisely timed running input as the player hits the floor. It is, because the ideation is for such to be zero.

When doing that, the player is mostly able to recover the entirety of the stamina spent on the jump.

This suggests: With enough consistent input, a player is able to bunny hop for an extended amount of time, even without Gas Masks or Stamina Buffs.

the only thing why cheaters bhop infinitely in CS2/CSGO is because they fake the packages

It really doesn't feel like it affects at all.
I can consistently bhop just by changing how much time i stay on the ground. If i go for perfect every time, i wont hit it, and i never said it was possible, since i said "extended amount of time"

What can actually help is: reduce the player's speed with friction once it touched the ground

The player slows down enough so that if the player did got one or two bhops, the third one is not worth it, since you would almost lose the other two bhops' advantages entirely

I feel bhop is as strong as super gas mask in the original game which was heavily nerfed for how busted it was. Now no item is needed for the stamina

Even as I love exploring a game's movement mechanics, this game does not hold enough complexity towards its movement to make it actually fun.
And a part of what makes a game's movement fun, is the skill required to be proportional to the advantage granted. And I don't mean "Twice as skill, twice as advantage," it has to be subtle.

But yeah, this game doesn't have a nice reason for such to be kept in the first place.
