I think this was already talked about and im pretty sure its a unpopular opinion, but i think having bedrock joinability by default like geyser/floodgate should become a core functionality in servers going forward, most people ive introduced geyser to had no idea it was possible and wished theyd known about it sooner.
Obviously this is something that would be made way later on in development, but i think its important

i would go a step further. instead of making a network layer like geyser it should be more deeply integrated so that for example bedrock player can make unique color in cauldrons, java players can then only see the nearest full color
and things like tipping arrows and bonemealing sugercane are quality of live features and should be implement for java player too

i never understood why after geysermc was proven to work really well it was never integrated into any server software
i guess i have seen some bugs with it though
and cheating could be a concern although ive only seen that once in my years of owning servers

its like papermc's xray, i wouldve never known it was possible to have such a good xray if paper didnt add it in paper itself

adding bedrock support with a very good plugin api could be a revolution for bedrock since all the logic for addons are server side which means bedrock gets a very good mod api this way

my raspberry pi 5 died on two phantom on skyblock, there is no way it could handle a additional geyser layer🫠

ive always used oracle cloud

only for smps tho, trying to use oracle cloud in a full server for 50+ players was a BADDD idea
