i'm just gonna write it all in its own post so it doesn't get lost.

  1. go to mumu,163,com (replace the commas with dots) (picture of the website under)
  2. download , open the file, click the only button provided (which just means Download), it'll start installing the emulator
  3. Open the emulator. The emulator is fully in chinese, I don't think there's a way to change the language unfortunately, but luckily the app is basically the same.
  4. edit your device settings. open the regular version of mumuplayer, the settings are mirrored so just put them side by side and copy them. I'm, running vulkan, highest default settings, tablet 1080p, 240/240 fps, (mirror tablet and 240fps it makes your performance better) and i think everything else is just up to you.
  5. start the device, go into settings, scroll down to the option with the circled i icon, click it, then click the world icon, then click the first option with the translate icon, click the plus, and scroll down to english, then grab english on the right and physically move it above chinese, so it overrides the device's language

  1. after you change your settings, go to the home (click home on your keyboard), then open the folder with the google icon and open it. This will prompt you to install google play services, do it, then click the button again to fully install them. Open google play, log in, and get destiny rising

what i'm guessing happened is they just sent out an update for mumu globally, but in china the version is higher (5.5.0 vs 5.4.1 globally), the chinese version is more up to date and has probably already fixed the issues that the global version just started getting

for me, i was able to open my map multiple times (major cause of crashing), and i ran 3 repeats of the singularity chaos mode never dropping below 120fps on the highest settings ingame

because your aim is your cursor made invisible and trapped in the middle of your screen moving around, but it's not the game itself capturing your mouse, it's ldplayer capturing it and reporting back, so it's not smooth at all (it can't really be smooth because it needs to keep getting teleported back to the center as you move around) so when you walk its fine but as you look around it feels off

I'm also having some issues using an AMD GPU. Sometimes loading takes a long time, the game freezes, or I lose connection.

I spent the whole day testing other emulators. The worst was BlueStacks5 the game wouldn’t even start despite trying many settings. LDPlayer worked best, but unfortunately it doesn’t recognize the PC HUD.

Another one that performed well was 'MuMu X', which was discontinued in 2023. It was better than the current emulator for me; sometimes it recognizes the HUD/layout, but then it disappears. 🤡

install a file explorer (i always use FV file explorer so i'll share some screenshots of that one specifically)

those two files hold your settings, i don't know which one is video settings i'd imagine it's usersettings. Anyways, you can either rename them (as you can see i renamed the old ones adding Old-, or you can delete them. Game will reset your settings to default when you re open, letting you in again

to edit, hold on the file then click the ... on the top left and Rename, to delete hold then there's a delete button on top

at least for me, changing the "texture precision setting" from HD to Standard crashes the game on startup

@solar pond Wanted to provide you an update and one visible to everyone;

  • The Chinese mumuplayer strat/workaround/play/etc is money. So far I've had no issues after a (admittedly) mostly running around Haven. But the frames are high, stable, and running smooth.
  • If you change your graphics from Ultra to Standard, it'll crash and you won't be able to log in. You'll need to follow the guide above to reset your user settings.
  • If you're on an AMD gpu, I think this is your best bet to have a good play experience.

Did a run of Fulminator; consistent 40-50 fps with 4 cores, 8gbs of ram, 1080p on a Ryzen 6850U with integrated AMD graphics.

for reference I was getting the error when trying to run the game earlier, swapped to directx, kept getting the error, tried lowering the resolution which worked but FPS was real bad for some reason, swapped to DX afterwards and it ran like a charm, then tried at 1080p and it still runs beatifully

  1. if you're on wifi, turn off your wifi, if you're on ethernet, unplug your cable

  1. lookup "advanced startup" in windows, and click Restart Now after the drivers and DDU are downloaded

  1. you are now in windows recovery. select these options: Troubleshoot, then Advanced options, then Startup Settings, then click Restart
#
  1. now in the startup settings click F4 to boot in safe mode
#
  1. now you're in safemode, you can extract the DDU folder you downloaded
#
  1. open the DDU folder (usually named DDU vxx.x.x.x) and run the executable file "Display Driver Uninstaller"
#
  1. now you're presented with the program, on the right click "select driver" and click GPU, then under it set it to whichever your gpu vendor is.
    If you only have one gpu, click "clean and restart". if you have two GPUs, such as integrated graphics and a gpu, do both of them, in any order, but for the first one click "clean and do NOT restart", for the second one click "clean and restart"

  1. after the pc reboots you should be back in regular windows. DON'T TURN YOUR INTERNET BACK ON YET!!!!!
    now you can install the drivers you previously downloaded, if you have integrated graphics install those first and then your dedicated gpu drivers.

  1. after they're installed, restart your pc again, log in, then you can turn your internet back on. you're done
#

it's a lenghty process but gpus are complicated and weird when it comes to drivers. and windows is even MORE weird, on linux you literally just run a command to uninstall drivers. windows loves to replace part of your drivers with part of its own pre-built drivers (which can and will break programs or cause significant performance loss). Internet is turned off because Windows Update will immediately detect you have no video drivers and will immediately install temporary generic drivers for your card, which will go in conflict with what you end up installing manually

with Adrenalin, and especially with RDNA 2 cards (like my 6750xt), windows update can install drivers that are so broken they can rarely cause driver boot loops or very bad instability
this is a big reason to why people believe AMD's drivers are bad, it's just windows that breaks them

The fix for me was to use LDPlayer, it run smoothly for me, never dropped from 119 FPS, but without mnk support, this is so SAD, this need to be fixed ASAP!

the movement on the mumu downloaded from the offcial one is smoothly without any prob, any other mumu has that "emulator" movement kinda issue which unlike on PC as the current official one offer. Is the CN ver got that issue too? or is it the same as the official one?

i can confirm, both on a desktop with a 5700x3d and 7800xt and a steam deck with windows the cn mumu runs infinitely better. on desktop the shadow issue stays (shadows glitch out, stack on each other, eventually everything is covered by shadows) but it runs with 120 fps in 1440p perfectly fine. on steam deck after changing the uma buffer size in bios to 256mb and setting the emulator to only use 3gb ram with nothing else running, the game is pretty smooth AND DOESNT LOAD FOR AGES.

Bumping the thread. Have used CN Mumu for a month now featuring multiple hours of daily play, and it hasn't crashed once. My laptop has a poor GPU, so I don't get blisteringly fast performance, but I can play, and for a while it seemed like I never could.

Thanks to the OP who did research to make it work 🙏

Have had this problem since Friday, before the problem i was using the newest driver. Have tried to downgrade to a older driver and still not working. Have tried other emulator and still have problem with this game. Have also downloaded the chinese mumuplayer and that didn't work either. This is so frustrating that nothing seems to work at all.

If your having issues with amd I recommend downgrading the driver to the November one it worked for me

AMD 7800 XT and downgraded to the driver version released on Jan 8th 2026 and the game is running again

AMD RX7000 GRE and nothing is working, I tried every single old driver even the one that worked back in december, non stop instant crashes. I turned off auto updating in every way I could find scrolling through forums the past hour. I fiddled around with my VM settings, tried the chinese launcher - NOTHING works. Anyone has any other ideas? I legitimately cant play the game anymore. Its so frustrating, I have played every single day since launch and I now missed the raid and cant even play.
