Gotcha
Destiny: Rising > Destiny 2 story? Thoughts?
Depends on which part of Destiny 2's story you are comparing Rising's story to, tbh. Better then Lightfall's story? 1200%. Better then Witch Queen's story? Probably not.
So it’s very possible the entire destiny universe is set within the Vex simulators??
Given how twisted and it was actually real with the 217 or something in the 4 lore vex docs. I think the theory is the vex are allowing it all so they can know how they think, etc.
This was a question that drove a large chunk of the ishtar collective into existential dread
Issue wioth the theroy: The Vex canonicaly, at least untill a certain point, have serious trouble simulating the paracausal forces of light and dark
It's not impossible for them to do, but it may as well be without specific focus
So any universe with light and dark in it is probably not a Vex simulation.
...Probably being the key word.
Also, I dunno what the lore of the Nine is anymore come Edge of Fate and I don't Want to know because I like them being mysterious beings, but I feel like the Nine aren't easily simulatable either.
Well the good news is they aren't lol
Thats kinda assuming we gonna reach the time of the vanguard. Hell we dont even know if osiris and saint 14 has met yet
So, does that mean he and maru will launch after gwynn's limited banner has ended?
Recency bias, but I like that they’re experimenting with different types of missions we haven’t never seen in D2 before
Yeah I dont think the whole universe is either, but I do think Rising will shed some more light on it maybe. Crota is 1st dlc? I think I saw endgame voice or something 🤷♂️
i may have just missed it in-game but i was wondering how Radegast and Morgram became allies (or whatever you want to call their relationship)
Well the lantern corrupted him or something lol
It was Harrow that was unintentionally corrupting him because she has the powers of an ahamkara, that's why she avoided the settlement so much hoping Saladin would get better without her powers influencing him
You must have missed a cutscene or something because it was all explained. I gave a quick summary in my comment above this one if you'd like to get an idea of the missing pieces
Yeah that
Idk
I have no idea about Ahamkara lore so I wouldn't know lol :P
Same, this is the first destiny game I have spent much time in so this is all fresh
is anything in this game canon to the lore? or is it just an AU kinda thing so they can do what they want story wise
when does OUR guardian show up
Imagine stabbing crota with a pencil
AU
Its wolf
like the d2 guardian?
Still wolf
Well if rising works like main destiny where 1 year here is like 1 year in destiny than uuh idk 2050 so 50 years of content or something
Its young wolf actually
does that mean the golden age is like 1900s and the dark ages is y2k?
Eh, doesn't really matter as long as we were chosen to be the travelers champion, we are wolf or young wolf
More than that
No golden age is way after our time im simply pointing out that the guardians journey from destiny 1 to current d2 has lasted as many years as destiny has been a game. Meanwhile rising takes place likely decades before d1
Main game guardian will never show up, this game is set hundreds potentially thousands of years before even destiny 1 starts
Hundreds i doubt that
Go ahead, I'm interested
Yes
@strange frigate @tawdry tree if we just ignore the entirety of the fact that, the last city, vanguard and essentially all of the infrastructure that exists in destiny 1/2 was practically impossible to just create in "decades", as space travel isnt even possible currently in destiny rising, and its casually available in d1 and d2.
you can just simply think about the timeline, for example the battle of twilight gap took place around 100 years prior to D1, this was a battle to defend the last city (something that does not even exist in rising) and there is ALOT of lore that is older than that within the game relating the the last city and the guardians that reside there, such as eris morns fireteam being defeated by crota and other landmark events in the lore
i would correct my previous statement and say if the game was canonized in any way shape or form, it would have to be around 500 years MINIMUM to fit into the lore at all
oh also a more concrete example i forgot about, at the time of destiny rising, saladin isnt even an iron lord yet, and they were considered "aincent history" in terms of the main destiny universe, as they existed hundereds of years prior
Ah neat
i think in future seasons the game could lead into the formation of the iron lords or something like that, but right now the game is still behind in terms of timeline
The ironlords already exist
isnt it just radegast or are there others?
There are more
does saladin hold the title yet?
Yep
That's what he was doing in Veridia to begin with, got given the terrotiry after a friend went crazy
If there's an iron wolf, there's an iron lord (unless that iron lord got snuffed out that is)
i assume this is new destiny rising lore because ive never heard the term "iron wolf" in destiny 1 or 2
oh no its mentioned in a couple destiny item descriptions
iron wolves are the second generation of iron wolves, there were 9 of them to be specific, 3 of each class
||Wolf/The Guardian, just got promoted to an iron wolf||
A bunch saladdin, rad, felwinter
oh okay thats another thing that messes with the cannon a little but it makes sense given the AU status
has felwinter been named in the game yet? ik all the iron lords im just asking about the ones in this game currently
He litterally mention in the trailer by tan which would mean tan knows him
The title of a guardian was bestowed by a sentinel to ####
didnt watch the trailer for the game
For shame
wdym by the #### ?
W f
oh okay
You guys do know wolf doesnt equal the guardian like he is not rising version of the guardian
yeah, he is his own charatcer so i never really thought about him that way
the guardian in the destiny games are literally just a husk lol they say like 2 words the entire franchise
Well the nine made our guardian into existence somehow
With some manipulation of our ghost signal to revive us
ohh interesting where did you read that? i love lore regarding the 9
Play edge of fate
I was watching Evaze's video about it
oh his video specifically about destiny rising?
Yeah because the guardian is supposed to be a no named character he basically like a souls protagonist meanwhile wolf is much closer to actual named protagonists
I'm talking about the d2 guardian
what video was that in? the entire story creation to witch queen or a different one?
I wondered who our ghost would actually have revived if it weren't for the nines intervention
probably a fodder tier guardian who would of gotten low diffed by that spider tank at the start of destiny 1
I can say the title for it instead. Destiny 2 - THE REASON YOUR GUARDIAN WAS REVIVED!
okay ty ill watch it
Would we actually have the same potential as wolf if our actual guardian was revived?
depends on what you believe decides the potential strength of a guardian
if its based on innate power within the ghost or lightbarer, or its from practice/experience
Our actual guardian? If you mean the guardian than wolf doesnt stand a chance
Without any manipulation of our ghost light signal
Ikora claims it's both, and she's the most Op Voidlock ever so she knows what's up
She says that Lightbearers don't so much get stronger as get better with the power they have
yeah i figured it was a mix, because you never see any strong guardians with weak mentalities, but you also see weaker guardians with strong mentalities
A weak Guardian can get really strong with experience and practise, and a strong guardian can get bodied if they get rusty. For examples of each, look at Ikora and Vel Tarlowe.
Ikora got as busted as she did by study and practise. Tawlowe was a strong titan who got bodied by Thrall because of overconfidence.
The top 5 strongest guardians in welp frankly the multiverse is very obvious non are from the dark timelines as those are well not doing good, rising hmm well they unfortunatley to new which is Sad
Wolf is like 1 week old now and they already got access to the sentinels power
Wolf is also a too confident fool who nearly permadied because he didn't think a Cabal could put on power armor.
My point precisely.
True
maingame guardians are just perfect killing machines lol, because they have no personality besides just wanting to shoot stuff
So? He doesn't Compare to main savathun who is a guardian, or saint and osiris at their prime which for saint is well current one and he no where close to the guardian who is litterally the one the traveler picked to be its champion
I think his case is one of starting off strong and hoping that scaling carries into his life.
This
he is saying that wolf is incredibly inexperienced and new to his power yet he is already really strong, if we assume he continues to grow he would be OP
Yep, plus with the sentinels light he also got a second form
Yeah i know hell i even made it clear the rising timeline was to young
Also, really, we can't use Savathun as a power scaler, the moment she got her memoires back we really should not have been able to beat her.
i started playing 3 days ago so im only level 51 so i still need to finish the story rn </3
At least if we are going by experioence being the only factor here
Oh sorry
its no worries lol idc about spoilers
Like we should just conisdering ourselves fortunate that the witch queen's firsrt thought on obtaining the light was to switch supers quickly, and not "rewrite the laws of the universe"
true, one of the 3 hive gods becoming a guardian was literally just an instant win and we only won because we had to for the sake of the story LOL
😭 she forgot she was supposed to be the smart sibling and took an oryx approach
What if wolf absorbed the tree! In the future
The hive gods being reckless as usual
Rising is standalone from D1 and D2 in terms of lore, right?
If he does, he definitely will outscale most lightbearers
its alternate universe but its set around 500 years prior to d1
Smart enough to gain the Light
Dumb enough to not realize she can alter the fabric of the universe
yeah that sounds on brand for someone tricked by a gust of smoke
What's interesting, I didn't think the Cabal ever visited until D2 when they arrived. I didn't read any lore so they prob were around sooner. lol
So Rising is its own separate canon then? Glad to know I don’t need to know about pre-established Destiny lore to appreciate Rising’s lore.
Inb4 Wolf solos The Guardian
Yes he does hell i go as far as to say in his sentinel form he most likely could be on the level of well 1 of the 6 guardians who fought crota hell maybe even 1 of the 6 oryx
The Cabal Were around, but it was basicaly a small outpost on the fringe of a empire, the equivilent of the french forigen legion.
Then we killed the Demon God King Genocider of TYhe Universe (Oryx) and the last remaining CCabal reported that to the throne room...
The cabal been on mars since the taken king
The tree of light + the sentinels light, he might as well be THE Guardian of humanity
tbf there are alot more overarching lore than not, imagine normal destiny lore but they crossed some stuff out and scribbled some stuff on the page
it's connected but alterante and way too many years between D1 and def D2. So technically they could do whatever but they're staying true to things very closely. I feel this game is going to be bigger than we're thinking.
I can't wait for the DLC-like
Basicaly, the Cabal were in D1 but it was an outpost that got wrecked by us and then went extinct thanks to Oryx. But the last surviviors of the mess sent a message out to one Dominus Ghaul...
Gotcha
ah thats cool. I like that lore about them. Is this video or just lore docs?
If wolf absorbed the light from the tree of light ( which is a chunk of the traveler btw) he will be the strongest lightbearer
Sometimes i wish i didn't play rising until next year maybe it have more story content oh so Sad
Sadly, Bungie deleted most of their content because they are a bunch of incompetant (There is swearing for about half a hour before there is calm)
BUT you can try your luck at the fan run Ishtar Collective
In rising yes
Or you can try some youtube videos, byf is good if you can filter out his bias from fact
Wolf did say along the lines in the beginning "Wolf feels like its meant to be my name, so we'll go with that" .... and all the lightbeares are Iron Wolves if im not mistaken, and he's like the hero of haven, etc etc. "Rising" hints at something too unless i missed that lore somewhere, which could mean Rising (game) will be for sure story driven, but curious where Wolf finishes w/ this game
yeah i see that, dumb but i can see them doing it to change things for the future and not be held accountable for going against old lore they deleted. haha.
I love the brutalist scifi designs they did w/ the Vex. tbh, i want to see artwork and would LOVE picture mode
...Let's say that recent evidence came out a while back that assuming Bungie are competant in any way is very generous.
Unless that competancy is in maintaining a classic car collection.
We are currently in the uniting humanity together saga
stopped playing destiny 2 when they started just deleting all the content i liked
tbh, i think a lot of things at play. Reshaping, M$ def has their hand in things, employees, new leaders, etc etc. Dont think there is a single cause to Bungie's shakeup per se. Just w/ the times. tbh, Rising is a relief, it feels great. And ngl, I spent just the $1 bundle and i have 5 main toons, just about max at 10 acclaim 😛
Im very excited for destiny 2 star wars
I have a question about Gwynn's Story (Final), but I don't want to spoil the story. 😅🙈
||Does Gwynn really kill Kyle's (Balder's) Ghost?||
Yes
Thanks for blocking. I haven’t started her story yet. Finishing Kabr next. That shield is so OP in PvP. lol drop it anywhere and just move around behind it while draining them, they gotta escape or have help cause I’ll just blind if they keep attacking lol
I’m not hyped for the nerfs, but they’re needed. Jolder & Ning too strong
||Harrow legit pulled a Eramis, unleash Vex on her own people||
Don’t know anyone playing Xuan, he needs some better tweaks.
Ok, to the fair, the plan was ||to take control of them and use them on the cabal specificaly.||
Sadly,|| The Vex are not some toy to be commanded so easily.||
Yep
Do I unlock Ning fei during the main story campaign?
Also, her plan was more accurately ||To make herself pay for the wish we made, rather then us to pay the price.||
Sadly, ||Ahamkara wishes are not some toy to be used so easily either.||
ughhh I want more Gwynn/ Attal cutscenes
who are the 3 most powerful beings in rising that we have 1. met 2. isnt god level beings like the traveler or the hive gods to me this is a very easy answer its the sentinel, buhr and wolf in his powered up state and 4th is well the cats
Gwynn
or perhaps, even Attal, since she's basically tamed her... lol
i wish i really do
True
What accent does Jolder have?
It wasn’t Eramis that did that, it was Lakshmi
you did't play beyond light? Eramis unleashed Vex on her own house too to try and stop us, Lakshmi did the same just on the last city
I did, but it’s been almost 5 years since the campaign, so that’s slightly fuzzy to my brain
(Also, how has it been almost 5 years since Beyond Light????)
it did happend hehe so fair
Ok, I just double checked why it felt so fuzzy to my brain, it’s tied into the Glassway and unless I’m being bullied into it, I avoid that strike like the plague these days. Grandmaster Glassway is a crime and will make you hate everything.
Like, I no longer associate it with the story mission it started as because I’ve done it as just a strike with Elsie’s dialogue instead so many times.
hopefully we'll get a more raw interpretation of saint-14 when the only thing he was concerned with was genociding fallen
With how intertwined Saint’s lore is to the Young Wolf idk how Saint would be written
do we know any of the story about how Radegast and Morgram became allies?
Yes, Morgran's past is briefly mentioned in the MIND.
Radegast adopted a baby
Except that baby has paracausal reality breaking power and it's only his respect for Radegast that keeps him from ignoring his restrictions
^^^
So we know that Gwynne hunted warlords to a final death but what y'all think about her vs Dredgen yor
I personally think yor takes it
Thanks! I completely forgot about that feature.
Thanks! I hope we see a lot more of them, so much potential for interesting storylines
i was going to ask if you think Harrow will end up becoming an even more important character given what we learned about her vanishing but i just realized i cant actually end up remembering what kind of condition she was in at the end of the story
She followed a dead Ahamkara's voice into a sealed cave and her eyes were glowing, beyond that it haven't the foggiest. I do think she'll be important in what's to come
ok it was just a cliffhanger and i didnt forget part of the story lol good
it feels like she could be a bigger ally or somehow get twisted into a big baddie villain
Room for Big Bad Ahamkara characters in this time period
rise is a prequel, right? if they are in the other destiny games are they all wiped out or otherwise unable to be a villain? since you mentioned this time period
Rising is an alternate timeline in the past. It's not a direct prequel.
Ahamkara in the main timeline were all hunted down in the early days of the City. We only knew directly of one's survival: Riven of the One Thousand Voices, living in the Dreaming City. We killed her in Destiny 2: Forsaken. She had a clutch of eggs that we saved in a recent season, however.
The Ahamkara Hunt has not happened in DR's timeline. We're definitely learning more about Ahamkara in this timeline soon, if the cliffhanger ending and the most recent social media posts are anything to go by.
very cool, excited to see where the stories for Morgram and the Ahamkara go. why were they all hunted down in the other timeline? i assume because of how powerful they are
Precisely. It was deemed too dangerous to have hundreds of wish granting dragons roaming about, causing chaos and twisting desires. Especially around the loot goblins that are lightbearers.
Heres a question who were the 6 guardians who in the lore actually did the monolith raid now 1 character is obvious which is wolf but the 5 others hmmm
can you give me a quick summary of the story involving the monolith raid? i am so far behind lore-wise since i didnt play the other games
Quick summary is big fallen called issakis takes over the space elevator and put his mind inside spider tank which is the raid boss
Monolith is entirely in the Rising timeline. The first half of the campaign goes over it.
Essentially, we needed to help out Jiangshi Metro so we could restore a global communications hub, and they've been under siege by a Fallen house called the House of Devils. The Devils are a thing in the main timeline, too, they're one of the main antagonistic Eliksni houses. Essentially, Jiangshi has access to a space elevator, and the Devils utilized it to build a massive fortress in space. The Gauntlet mode is about eliminating the threat of the fortress, before they detach from the elevator and collapse it on top of Jiangshi.
The leader, Isaakis, is a Splicer, which is am eliksni tech priest. He put his brain into a Walker tank.
oh gotcha, thats the one everyone is complaining about ppl not knowing how to do lol
Not brain literally, just his mind.
But its so obvious
ahh i see, i was following along with what was happening in the story, just forgot that it was called the monolith
Hmm maybe gwynn, kabr and tan was also there since they worked with wolf before at least going by the trailer
Monolith is the name of the fortress and Isaakis's followers. Give me a minute and I'll bring up the lore tab talking about it.
I was slightly wrong on details.
looked for 'monolith' in the in-game dictionary and it said no results found, thanks dictionary!
There is six lightbearers on the event page but, frankly, I would not be happy with this team comp playing it.
What why not i mean wolf, tan and gwynn are perfect togheter altough i switch jolder with gwynn's friend
I looked up "space station" and didn't get the result but...uh yeah, it has one
it didnt even find anything for 'ikora', they probably have it set so you can only search with chinese characters or something lol
it seems Jolder is high ranking enough she can do whatever she wants without checking in with the Iron Lords so maybe she popped in to help impromptu style
Good pulls, thanks.
Yes
nice, thanks!
Yeah I'm going to say my thoughts on the first half with the fallen kind of abruptly ended before we go to the cabal stuff The second half (with one or two moments with the other factions)
I know we're going to get more content in future updates but it does feel kind of abrupt even though I felt the story was good despite feeling incomplete in one or two moments
same, i was kinda shocked when the credits just started rolling when they did
Issakis felt like a filler villain
Both Isaakis and Buhr were definitely villains of the week
not sure if it is accurate but i heard a rumor saying they are introducing two new lightbringers this week that were in the beta, maybe they will be introduced as lightbringers that helped with the raid?
Judging from the social account's most recent posts, they're going in a different direction with Estela's reveal
was that her on the beach?
It feels weird beating buhr 1v1 and issakis 1v6
buhr was like 5% of a really interesting villain lol, he needed to be fleshed out more for sure
Buhr's power level was the problem. As a character he was just kinda...A Thing To Kill
Yup, seemed like it
Might be after she was resurrected, but I'm genuinely unsure
So any predictions on where we're going with the story next until was hopefully doing vex or Hive first before we go deal with Wish dragons and also probably get the awoken here (surprising they're not here to be honest yet)
jolder but she fires her annoying assistants 🙂
There's Awoken about. Skorri's an Awoken, as is Umeko.
Yes I'm fully where she is coming
I'm excited for her and although I'm trying to get tan-2 before that (Even though I wanted gwynn But I'm skipping her for now)
Also I'm really excited for estela
Yeah I can agree although I was kind of expecting to swing his whenever he's in Dawnstar for his super I thought he was going to swing that sword
same! that would have been really cool just charging in with a fire sword
My best
[handBOOK] & Character Chapters (side missions???)...
So... Are some of the Character Stories... After the MAIN Chapters (handBook)?...
or Between Chapters?..
definitely my favorite and my main so far
Question about Gwynn's quest: Does Attal's quest show "Balder" being more of a monster or something? Becuase as far as I can tell in Gwynn character story he seems genuinely remorseful for what he did. Either way, smart move for Gwynn to kill his ghost.
In 3 days the stuff for the season will unlock
I’m kinda excited to see Estela’s story cause from the posts Estela seems to have some relationship to the ahamkara (wether it’s a good or a bad one is to be seen)
Attal's quest is about something entirely different
If you've ever heard dialogue from her talking about "the kids" and wondered what that's about, check her quest out
Jolder as Iron Champion is seemingly a step above the Iron Wolves, wherein rather than being a representative of any single Iron Lord, and by extension their standing beneath the Iron Banner in their name, she instead is essentially an Iron Lord on the same standing is Lady Skorri, who takes up an equivalent role as the Iron Bard, just without land holding or the absolute final say in Iron Banner politics in the way Lords like Saladin, Radegast and Gareth have/had.
Which makes sense, as she does go on to become a fully fledged iron lord in the main timeline, I'd wager that maybe such titles as Bard, Champion, Iron Wolf, etc if they ever did exist in the main timeline would have potentially gotten phased out or rolled into the ranks of fully fledged iron Lords as they moved away from landholding peacekeepers to a travelling anti-warlord militant group with more conventional military ranks, structures and uniformity
I thought it would be, just wanted to make sure I didn't miss any context considering I saw a bunch of people playing Gwynn's quest hating on Kyle and as far as I could see he genuinetly regrests the bad things he did
Kyle did some bad stuff if you read his MIND page. He was Walter's right hand with torture, basically.
But he's also an utter coward, and when London got razed by the Fallen realized that he needs to change his ways. Better to learn eventually than never at all.
Also, yeah, the burning of London has apparently already happened in the DR timeline
Oh he's absolutely a terrible person, I gathered that from the quest itself and context in it. But as you say, better to learn eventualy then never at all, and it seems like he did learn.
My understanding of Jolder is that the Lords hold territory while the Champion is their dedicated duelist when they challenge warlords.
Because she doesn't have territory to watch over she's much freer to do whatever missions she wants.
Yeah that sounds right from what I have read
It's also good character development for Gwynn to actually consider rather than just killing him immediately.
She has like a dozen+ names in her diary of warlords she's killed
Indeed, I liked how Gwynn handled the situation honestly. "I'll let you live, but you only get the one life."
Seems fair tbh esepeicaly if his ghost was sufffering and he regrerttedt that
That was apparently his turning point
What I don‘t understand is, there is one awoken in Haven, but… How? 🤔 The Story, so far, takes place on Earth. 😅 How did she become an Awakened One and where did she come from?
Awoken have started coming to Earth as scouts already. Umeko is also an Awoken, she apparently crash landed in Japan.
This matches up with the main timeline, as well. Zavala was resurrected before the city was founded.
People not familiar with Destiny lore must be so confused why Skorri is blue lol
Yeah I hope that Haven makes contact with the Reef at some point in the future
Awoken are one of the weirder things to explain
Question about Shifting Gates
Why are we murdering other science teams for their data like it's Gambit?
I didn't fully pay attention to the explanation for wtf we're doing and why as Donovan-17 was yapping
Which I love tbh
Even in the main timeline the arrival of Awoken to earth is... messy
After the events of the Exodus Green's (aka Colony Ship: Yang Liwei) exposure to both light and Dark Paracausal Energies, it seems most awoken stayed in the distributary, many others went to the reef, and early on from the Reef age, some rapidly found their way to earth, as Awoken have been resurrected in all sorts of pre/mid collapse locations, so the timeline of Awoken, let alone Awoken Lightbearers arriving on earth, is extremely narrow, arguably narrower than Exos
Huh, so that's why they're plentiful on earth
Y'a des francias sur ce jeu ?
No idea what you just said
Attal speaks with a French accent. I can't recall where it said she was resurrected, though.
any good lore sauce
Yeah I was going to say her but she's Rezzed in North Africa
Is she from Morocco, you think?
Hmmmm, maybe?
I mean a part of me thinks she could just be french and have just died in Africa? she does immediately make her way to europe upon resurrection, but also yeah North Africa has a lot of french roots and dialects so Morocco is definitely a possibility
Actually the more I think on it, Morocco (or whatever passes for it in the Destiny setting's weird geography) is probably the most likely candidate
Attal as a name is also pretty popular in France and Morocco so that doesn't help haha
wonder if its just a coincidence she did, if she chose to crash land in japan, or just adopted their culture after crashing to fit in better. probably the latter
The revival locations seem a bit confusing, with Ikora apparently being rezzed in North Africa in this timeline
I mean per Bungie's narrative director for Edge of Fate, Ikora's body was moved from her place of death when she died, so it showing up in Africa isn't the strangest outcome?
That said it's a bit bizarre how a third of the cast were all rezzed in Northern Africa
Ikora, Finnala & Attal are all North Africa Revivals
Ikora said she woke up in a desert
The Sahara would probably make that lore work?
What weapons did the void hunter “Umeko” use in the beta tests???
Anyone can answer???
Iirc it was scouts and snipes like Tan
I hope more green / close forestry bright places come in the expansions. Gates is a pretty place.
Hey @rustic elk when you play Kabr do you yell “SHAAAABOLLLLLT” with his shield blind ability? lol jk. Cool name
how does zev get destroyed by regular cabal in the stealth mission i thought ghosts could only be destroyed by something paracausal
Ghosts can be damaged by regular force trauma, it just takes a lot of it to break one, Sagira from Destiny 2 was rendered the ghost equivalent of Braindead by a regular vex slap rifle until she got repaired, light-killing/paracausal rounds are just extra good at it, or better yet are able to taint a lightbearer's body enough that a ghost cannot resurrect them
Another good example would be Targe, Zavala's ghost, he was disabled by a Cabal Light supressor in the leadup to an assasination attempt on the Lightbearer Zavala. The Psions sought to disable his ghost and off Zavala whilst his ghost was inert as even if his ghost was reusrrected after the fact it would not have been able to save him due to the form of ammo used
I actually haven't played with Kabr much beyond his intro mission, I lucked my way into Jolder early enough that I just never felt the call to him lol
Honestly, I feel like I want to get each character to a high enough level to use Iron Commander well at least, and after that find and foccus on my main
I felt the exact same way. I unlocked like 8~ and finally was like alright I’ll play you ego alpha bro. lol jk. He’s now my fav PvP, and after maybe an hour he feels fast and fun to play. Drop shield anytime, run anywhere behind to shoot, etc.
Yeah. And I realized commander is when I won’t play much. You have to use pinnacle points. As of right now I’m just playing so I just use them there for things I need to grind. For example I’m 1 character away from unlocking acclaim 10. Sept 11 opens up all new stuff so hoping to just be ready for it, then slow down
TBH Iron Commander is great for just converting some spare puinnacle energy into if you don't plan on farming heavily for a bit
Or are hitting the cap on energy and need to spend it
Wait when was sagira damaged by a vex slap?
Vex slap rifle and Curse of Osiris cutscene
For some reason on the Vex's weapons on their arms is called a Slap Rifle. No, I do not know WHY
Opening cutscene of Curse of Osiris
Probably because they’re mounted near the hand? Idk
I wonder where eris morn is during destiny rising.
My headcanon is it's likely lingo that Guardians themselves made up for simplicity's sake instead of using whatever real designation each race would use - both probably hard to translate or literally unreadable. I equate it to like what we did in WW2 and 'Nam where we just started naming enemy gear in simple, sometimes derogatory terms
yoo broo wadap, can you tell me how to craf main wepon wolf Sweet Business,i look in craf synthesize with catalyst item, there is noting to carf sweet business
From what I know the Slap Rifle isn’t actually designed as a weapon, it just happens to work as a weapon, since the Vex Goblins aren’t combat units
It kinda just takes solar energy and flings it towards us hence the “slap” term
Yea. And line obviously cuz it makes a line
Not Mourning her team yet
lol I know there’s so many people I want to see but it won’t work story wise
Ok, I love how Rising utilizes old unused concept art
The new character coming out is like 💯 inspired by the unused Ahamkara subclass concept art
Yeah I agree it looks sick
sooo any idea if we gonna get estella after gwynn goes away orrrr
Rumor is the 11th
hmmm with the new season makes sense
Yeah that’s all anyone can guess rn
What do we think Estella wished for? A ghost?, maybe she just has a ahamkara in her servitude?
Estela spoilers: ||She was resurrected holding Brec, her relic. Her fate is inextricably entwined with the Ahamkara.||
Heres a question is wolf a hunter or a warlock like he looks like a hunter however his Powers especially his super feels way more like a warlock
Where’s that info at?
Classes don't technically exist yet but they're a hunter
Nooo warlock...
So, Kyle getting "punished" by the traveler, are we dealing with a traveler that actually interferes? 🤔 In D1 and 2 it kinda seems like the traveler couldnt care less. As far as I remember it's never directly punished anyone before
Kyle just mortal now why would the traveler interferer
We typically "class" the lightbearers based on their visual design, jump, and melee
Wolf wears a cloak, has double jump, and punches like a hunter
Ergo, they're a hunter with a dawnblade
Damn the jump i forgot about that jump
Maybe dawnblade was inspired by wolf's relic
I actually personally think the dawnblade D2 warlocks summon is the light imprint of the Parhelion Wing
Kind of like how hunters summon the golden gun, which is straight up the last word
Ah right tan also got a sword
Gwyen said his ghost not speaking was a punishment from the traveler
This was before he was made mortal
Did she? I did gwynn's quest and i don't remember that
She did basically say that
Kyle's MIND page states that his Ghost became damaged during the razing of London
Because he hid during it
Yee, I will go back and get what she says word for word. But I swear she used the word punishment
Would make sense with how it always got changed from damage to healing and both. The parhelion wings light is entangled from to different guardians
That doesnt mean the traveler actually did anything simply that, thats what gwynn believes which is most likely given the fact gwynn is basically judge and exicutioner
Could be, either way. Never heard of anything like that happening in destiny In general. So he's either a complete anomaly or we are gonna get to see a traveler that actually plays a bigger part! Either way, just curious 🧐 wondering if we'll see something similar again in this game
Yeah it was damaged by the fallen thats why it doesn't speak it wasn't because of something the traveler did or anything like that
Lightbearers are pretty gnostic right now, believing the traveler is essentially a god
It would definitely fit someone like Gwynn who believes in divine retribution to say that that was a punishment from the traveler
Also I find it fascinating that the razing of london has happened already
There's a non zero chance we end up seeing Namrask at his worst eventually
Well yes true
If we ever see an Akileuks the Smokesword, we'll know what he did
Facts
Question since I don't know much about Destiny lore
What exactly happens differently in Rising compared to 1 and 2's timeline?
I know Rising sets like. Afew decades after the fall of the Golden Era
Centuries. Dark Ages lasted a while. We're barely out of the dark ages in DR.
As for what's different...so far, not a lot? The tree of light doesn't exist in the main timeline, nor do sentinels, as far as we can tell. There hasn't been anything that directly contradicts the main timeline. We just happen to be before most of the major events in the history of the last city.
Mostly it's additions instead of exceptions, right now.
We'll see how that continues in the future.
So atm they're probably just setting things up for the changes?
I mean there are a few things that do based on when stuff occurred but theoretically using some deus ex machina they could be hand waved
Giving us context for some things happening right now and what the current state of the world is?
Humanity is in isolated settlements and slowly starting to reform a global network. We still don't have space travel, we're under fire from fallen and cabal forces and the vex and hive have just been discovered
Oh hey! The Vex are here too?
Wait, wasn't the Cabal first discovered in Mars?
Or is that just where they set uo shop?
The Vex weren't just discovered, Zev knew about them. She was just extremely surprised to see them on Earth.
These are in fact the same Cabal as the ones on Mars. They're setting up in the Red Sea Rift to mine Radiancite, an ore that can channel the Light, for munitions.
Their main base still sounds like it's on Phobos, though.
Got it, thanks!
Another question, ehat exactly are these relics being used by the cyrrent Lightbearers we can play as?
Oh right mbmb
They're objects infused with Light that they use to focus their abilities. We're so early in the timeline that Light isn't well enough understood for Lightbearers to wield it without them
Harry Potter wands
Ohhhhhh, so they're like wands for Lightbearers atm
And in D1 and 2 they don't use em since we know how to harness the stuff betterer
Makes sense, since we can just manifest a flaming sword or a gun
Yup, precisely. The campaign seems to be gearing towards a direction of Wolf being the first lightbearer to break those kinds of boundaries, though.
So the first knife flinger
The first [REDACTED]
Yeah I don't want to spoil it. The end of the campaign is hype.
Ohhhhhh, so that's why the current Lightbearers probably can't swap between all three elements atm too
Yup. They just don't know how yet.
Don't worry, I'll keep playing until Wolf turns into the first Gunslinger
Question, when do people stop calling us Lightbearers and call us Guardians instead?
Curious what made them transition to Guardian
I believe your answer will be at the end of the campaign.
Ah, understood 👌
It's not directly stated
Look up Gabo Garza on Artstation. He is the senior lead concept artist at Bungie.
There is a concept piece from Lightfall, it was the early explorations of a subclass - it was Ahamkara themed. They went in a different direction with Strand.
The colors and shapes are exactly what we see used for Estela's Ahamkara powers in Destiny Rising
The idea of Giant Robots is also something that can be seen in old D1 concept art
I have the giant robot concepts saved on my phone, I can share those later.
It ain’t Golden Gun if Shin isn’t the one who discovers it imo
Is joke, best guess is Wolf will set the stage for Warlock's fire sword thing
I assume Tan’s sword is the early Dawnblade
Correct
I wonder if Gwynn’s visions of the God of Death will have anything to do with Nezerac, since Nezerac’s original design does resemble the traditional idea of Death
...very interesting thought.
It would be very cool if they built up several Disciples of the Witness over the course of the narrative - rather than just the couple we saw in D2
I think the Witness is quite a ways off from consideration at this point tbh
for sure, I am just saying that they could utilize the Disciples long before we even see the Witness.
very true, the existence of the nine can be a good way for them to take advantage of something like the disciples
Hey, wait a minute. Who even are the Nine?
I know of Xur, an "agent of the Nine."
But I looked pretty deep into the Nine two or three years ago, before I stopped playing D2. I didn't really find much about them.
Go to my name is byf he just made a lore video about the nine
In main timeline canon, it's at the founding of the Vanguard. Lightbearers are anybody that's been rezzed, including Iron Lords, Warlords, Dredgens and Guardians. Guardians are specifically Lightbearer members of the Vanguard
Ah, ok. I'll look into that soon, then
I feel the potential for nezarac, especially after lightfall, I mean he had a cult with some humans and psions
Got it, thanks!
Mabey the new dungeon will be about his followers. We will have help from caitals psions
Ok so kinda lore discussion topic kinda now but to all Destiny Vets, you reckon we'll get the other members of the Vanguard like Zavala, and Cayde? If so they have to relic them what do you think the relics would be? Wanted to see what people have to say
I feel like those two are going to be great anniversary characters to be honest
And I know it's a little early but I wonder what Ikora reaction if she ever saw her main timeline
I'm waiting to see if they are going to bring in future Darkness subclass guardians.
The imagination and build diversity can be so huge that I'm really excited to see what they are going to bring.
I don’t know the lore of the new 5 star yet but it could be a gateway to some “alternative light” characters. Maybe someone from the crew of the planet where the drifter lost his crew
I know that it has been asked multiple times but I wanted to know as well. Is this an alternative universe or some sort of Dark Age era?
Alternate timeline shortly after the dark ages.
Imagine if they expanded upon existing characters with a darkness subclass
And it would add new dialogue
How do I get the exotic Nezarecs chin?
Thank you
We will get them soon enough. It would he insane if we do not.
You go to the moon and file it off👍
guys, hear me out - Abe Lincoln resurrected
Lol what?
wait really?
Since the possibilities are much bigger than in D2, do you people think that may we get in future a playable eliksni or cabal guardian?
Did you play D2?
Only a matter of time until the terrible men of history become guardians too
From a practical standpoint, I kinda doubt it, the work it would require is probably quite a bit greater than exos, awoken and humans
Yes. We got to use ghost for a stealth mission. I wouldn't be surprised, in fact I'd expect a mission with a different race to be playable
Im getting more and more Powerful as wolf and soon mommy! I mean estela
^ to a larger extent, i agree: not a new character to upgrade
Finally reached acclaim 18 now i can just upgrade everyone else to at least Silver perhaps even fully gold
Wait this isnt general lmao
i can deff see an eliksni!
Yes, why?
Warlock
Seems like just the 2 new characters this month. Then content rest of year. Love it. Hoping more vex stuff. Would be cool to see a vex hybrid lightbearer next year but content this year
We need more vex bosses and enemies give us an actual warrior vex
I'm mostly waiting for Crota raid
Is the vex pool / water looking the actual vex themselves? Like I think one boss is surrounded by a giant lake / waterfalls. It looks like the vex 🤷♂️ lol
So before the chassis would they not be in a pool somewhere? I guess where do they hangout and the city and catch Vex sports when off duty from the machines they make? lol
the vex don't really "Hang out." They are kinda the ultimate workaholics, and their work is universal conversion.
Ironicaly, every other alien race is more likely to "hang out" then them, as long as we consider the hive's idea of hanging out being combat.
Doesn't the liquid turn People into vex isnt that what happend to asher
You say that but vex gotten way more personality ever since maya sundresh
I will have to take your word on that one, I left after Final Shape's second round of firings so I dunno what any of the people in destiny have been up to after we beat up Witness.
Far as I'm concerned my Guardain killed the ultimate evil, then retired to run a library or something
Well final shape also has some quiet not normal vex like the once who working with the witness pretty sure they were straight up religious and fanatic zealots towards the witness
Reading would be fun
Honestly, I hadn't even planned on coming in for Rising either, but then I heard that some of the music guys that got fired from Bungie did some work on Rising's OST, and just as them being fired was my catalyst for leaving D2, it was my catalyst for trying Rising.
Which so far I am not regretting, I just wish I had a better idea of what to chase then I do generaly.
The game does a good job of tutorialzing a lot of things, but a lot of things aren't and I have no idea what to go after half the time lol. My CURRENT plan is to get character quests out the way. After that... no idea.
I saw gwynn and thought yes
Hmm all character quests, gold rank on every character and max Power is my goal
I like Gwynn's character quest because she shows inteligence during it and comes up with a clever plan and fitting punishment
Eventualy, I'd like to reach that. But my god the resouces I need to hit that is INSANE and I barely have enough to get like 3 people iron commander ready, let alone all gold rank
So my plan is to just build as many and varioed resources as I can
Thing is there's so many that even with the handy hints saying where they are and come form, I cannot track them all.
Yeah that is annoying i hated waiting for pinnacle i kept buying bundles
But one day i do it and hopefully i can get every character to gold before Christmas expt for like future characters well estella and umiko wont be a problem
And that's how they get you. I just brought (And regretted) a bunch of Silver to work my way towards that sweet Wolf Skin. (Wolf is my highest because I figured "They will probably use him a lot for story later on, so he's the wisest investment"
Which was one of my smarter choices in the game I feel. (One of few among many stupid ones: I just leveled attal for my other medal from nothing despite having characters I had invested more in already)
Ah the jetpack one that was another reason i used money
You know, I don't even know how you are meant to get whatever item you don't select. Is it just lost to you forever?
Huh i dont know
Do I have to choose between Cool Wolf Drop and Cool Fast Sparrow?
Maybe they be avaible later
Never really thought that the Hives schtick would be being the "FACE ME YA PANSY" race, especially when I learned what their deal is
Be broke like me and you can never regret stupid purchases!
I love the Hive because they combine being the Evil Zombie Race with being the Warrior Bloodlust Race with being the Crazy Religion Race and it works perfectly.
Also besides kind of savathun we don't have to worry about "diplomacy" with them and Caitl will have no problem waging war on Xivu
Savathun doesn't do diplomacy, she does a little thing called "Making you think you are being diplomatic with her meanwhile she is doing something that both absolutely wrecks you and helps you at once"
Like, I dunno, Attack Diplomacy or something
Which is just metal as hell
Is she a Skaven or something? Tf?
Anyways, question, would it conflict with the lore if we get the Tractor Cannon in Rising?
She's the hive god of cunning. The way she gets power is through tricking people and lying.
So from what I've heard, shes a Tzeecthian Skaven God of the Hive
More like a trickster god whose only loyalty is to herself. And Maybe her sisters, but considering that the Hive show their love by murder, that's not really a improvement over self loyalty only.
So like Dante and Virgil but the stabbing is mutually accepted
Yeah kinda
And again, I love the Hive cuz of this
Foolishness Zeduk Foolishness
hi
Gasp its mummie
Speaking of that, oh boy. The latest reveal stream of Renegades, the Tharsis Reformation.
There was a stream?
So appearently vex plays card now
Ok this is clearly the biggest proof of Rising being a Vex Simulation yet, we are being trained to play Shadowshaper Duels so the vex have interesting card game opponants.
It also explains why Duelist Coins only have the one source and that is playing other players
Are you saying vex using characters like wolf so one Day they can challenge the guardian in renegade impossible
Perfect

Narrative Lead Allison Luhrs stated that The Nine are more powerful than the Witness, even though they are NOT paracausal (how much more if they are). Yet something is spooked them so bad that they need a "Weapon".
Something is worse than the Witness out there and we just don't know it yet, and might have linked to the prophesized extinction III (member of the nine bound to Earth) is talking about.
But don't worry. Rest. We will take things from here. For I have found a new purpose. I am the chosen weapon of the Nine.
I mean People with the echos can also be argued stronger than the witness well kinda. Also the nine being stronger than the witness do they mean this one
Or this one?
Hmm probably the latter
I wonder who we’re getting as characters in the future from like the lore
I mean estel and umeko
oh
Lol so kind of my thoughts on that card game was basically Gwent or Marvel snap although I tend to prefer more of the hearthstone or Yu-Gi-Oh types
Well that's bad, we had a hard time against the Witness when he had a while trailer glazing him up
But the Nine are not only stronger, but they're afraid of something so bad that they're looking for a weapon to murderize it dead?
Can't wait for those two to be honest also you know I'm going to put at some point we'll have to fight the witness and maybe about I'm going to say 5 years time to be honest? But for now we're kind of focusing on the wish-making dragons at the story-wise unless they're going to find ways to tease the witness
Wait isn't the Witness in D2?
Oh sorry I was just thought you were talking about Destiny rising
Oh nah it's fine dood
Yeah but anyways I can't wait to see where the story goes for now since while it's good I felt incomplete
Anyways I recently played two or three sidequest and one of them sort of gives a bit of a backstory to Wolf before becoming Resurrection as well as also wish from earlier from the chase scene
Always more story to come
I’m confused by the ending of Finnala’s questline
child speaker threw me off
Fight the witness im not so sure about that
Child speaker? Um no she's just a female
for some reason I think about basically the light and darkness saga in rising with some changes
Unless the game suddenly timeskips like several centuries into the future i highly doubt it
She's a child. I believe one of Tan's diary entries complains about it? Specifically Yannick thinking it's preposterous they have a child in that position.
Ah
Yup, there we go
Yeah maybe but considering it's an alternate timeline so I shouldn't be concerned too much about it
True true
Neat
I think net ease could learn a lot from Bungie’s mistakes for the Light and Dark saga when doing their own take on it, but rather than just hitting the same familiar beats like Oryx, I do hope they also utilize the lore to introduce new threats. Which does seem to be what they’re foreshadowing by having narrative focus on Ahamkara.
Yeah to be honest I feel like NetEase take on light and dark saga with some changes like learning any mistakes as well as other things
Im very excited for renegade
I would say my thoughts on it is physically Destiny's Star wars expansion (Lucas films is helping it) anyways good to be honest despite the mix reception but not that interested to be honest
And this is guy who still likes Star wars despite that's ups and downs But overwhelm with that franchise these days
cool
anything on D3? I'm just curious how deep they go w/ the "main" lore. Since Rising they can sort of try some things, and cancel things that dont work. I just don't know how hard and deep they'll go w/ the main overall Destiny Universe, etc within Rising, or wait till D3 and be heavier with it.
I'm excited for the non SW parts, EoF was good story wise so Renegades should atleast be, coherent, unlike some DLC's (lightfall)
D3 won't happen anytime soon. Most of Bungie's budget is on Marathon, unless it flops immensly Bungie will be focusing mostly on it
"unless"
Forgot about that game. lol. ugh, it flopped when they announced it. lol. I dont have any faith for that game, think they went the wrong direction in trying to copy pasta other arena shooters. Looked rushed, and imo hurt Bungie's artistic styles too. Idk, they might turn it around, but hope it helps push more D3. lol. I'm sure they have a small team doing some D3, but probably no major teams yet.
I wasn't expecting D3 till at least 2027 earliest, but didn't know if rumors / news started yet. Not a biggie, i dont like 2-3yrs news anyways. lol. Rising could also be test game to know where to take D3 in some ways.
I have no stake on Marathon, I wish it didn't exist and instead was destiny 3, but I don't care for it at all.
Bungie doesn't have enough people to develop both destiny and Marathon, there ain't anything done on D3
Don't think anyone wants a game like that to begin with. It wont do well from the start, but they might milk it for a solid year. who knows. Rising is a refresher though, I love it.
Roadmap seems fine to me, I could play it a year for sure.
To be fair, Yannik's kinda right there. Unlimited cosmic power representatrive is a literal child? I'd be concerned too
Even a broken warlord can have a point twice a day
Oh yes I'm not really interested in Marathon despite kind of looking promising but I'm not really interested in extraction shooters
Saint 14 gonna appear in december
tbf if she starts saying that the traveller says to give her candy all the time its not like theyll believe her
It's rather bizarre ngl but I guess they did so because they indiscriminately search for ANY person attuned to the Traveler regardless of age.
Still, using a child for faction wars.... man.
Now that I think about it... why am I the only one with an animal name?
When you forget to switch off of Wolf and you log on the next day:
Any germans here?
Do rats and mice exist in destiny
Nah just 1 Norwegian
Yes
Hi
Is there a Bettel Royale?
Yes hi gasp rat king the true god
Destiny Rising does not contain a battle royale mode, no.
Super fun in pvp
I remember back in D2, I'd play void hunter with rat king.
Just chain the invisibility, and never face your opponent head-on. Always from the side, or from behind.
You'll have a positive kdr, unless they can pick up on the outline of your character, while invisible. There were some players who could pick up on it, but most of the time, I'd move too quickly.
i want dual rat kings in dr
You think its illegal to shot a guardian in the face with sword
Actually what would the sentence even be hmm
You guys think we’ll get Siva splicers in rising? Considering bungie seems to avoid them like the plague despite their popularity. I would love to see them in rising maybe alongside outbreak prime/perfected.
I feel like it’s not too far fetched since splicers are brought up pretty often in the game now.
And let's say a maybe at some point to be honest although I don't know maybe Bungie just don't feel like they have anything interesting ideas to do with Siva or different reasons
Fr?
Just had this thought, sure it's been discussed before, if there is at least one giant mech still alive in Rising, could we not glean humanity's entire history from it?
Unless it doesn't have true memory/conscious and only up to the directive of protecting humanity would permit
In a way, maybe sharing humanity's history would do more harm than good so by not divulging, it is protecting in a way
Nah
No
Rats, rats, we're the rats...
Definitely, not now, but later on hopefully.
I feel like someone asked about rats and mice yet forgot you exist Cody
So estela having an ahamkara thoughts
One thing ive always wondered about those dragons is if normal humans can wish to be lightbearers
I mean they can grant anything
Right...
Im not sure they can hmmm
Ahamkara twist wishes, so that person would probably end up dying horribly and then become a very cursed lightbearer in a century
damn i remember unlocking the catalyst? for it back in the day
Depends on the dragon
Yeah we know of at least one dragon who didn't twist wishes. Unfortunately he died from starvation after wishing for his eggs to get safe, RIP Taranis
Honestly, meeting him in DR continuity could be neat
Y'all think Saint and Zavala could be arc, since both were arc before Void prior to the Vanguard creation.
Why doesn't Morgran just fix all the iron lords problems? Ok he has drawbacks but surely an alien invasion is worse for humanity
His wishes aren't really under his control. When Radegast wished for a problem to go away, it came back inside Morgran's realm and almost starved him
Makes sense, he seems to be juvenile is there a chance we meet more adults who could do it?
Morgran
There is always, ALWAYS, a drawback to the wishes of the Ahamakara. The only thing you can MAYBE control is who it affects.
If you wish for a bacon sandwhich, it will be soggy.
If you wish for a cabal to choke on a bacon sandwhich, it will do so and fall over onto a nuke button.
If a cabal wishes for a bacon sandwhich, it will choke on it and probably also fall on a nuke button.
No matter who makes the wish, it will backfire for them.
It. Will. ALWAYS. Backfire.
Even the one dragon who made a selfless wish on himself had it backfire. He died.
So no, Radagast can't just wish for the iron lords issues to be fixed.
Not unless he wants the solution to arrive in a SIVA warhead or something
About the best one can MAYBE hope for is to make a wish in such a way that when it DOES f you over, you can accept it. Like how Tanriss knew the price for his wish would be death, and accepted it.
Even then, as Rising proves, that doesn't always work...
This will always be my favorite looking hive
U cant forget the king him self 🤫🤯😂🫶🏻 @strange frigate
Eh he like number 3
Ok is that Kelgoroth the Warpriest or some other hive I've forgotten? Eityher way, we need them as a Shadowshaper Exotic card
Yes warpriest wait they have a name!?
I know they have a name, But I mighjt be getting my hive confused
You know he smashes the best in the hive 😆
I think Kelgorth might be that guy who xivu arath promoted as a cosmic joke come to think of it
Anyway, I am pretty sure that eithert that is the warpriests name, or that the warpriest HAS a name but that's not it
he has no name
You know, I kinda think you looked that up just to double check, and if so, I have no retort. My mistake
i did
also kelgorth is a completely diffrent hive which is obvious when you consider warpriest died in the taken king raid and kelgorth shows up in d2 like 2 years ago its obious they diffrent
It's been a while ok my destiny lore is rusty and spotty\
well we got google
Oh that guys looks like he got personality!
Also question, how's the culture regarding Lightbearers being able to respawn in Risings setting?
Specifically how weird we can be and whether or not we junp to our deaths for funsies
Curious if it was significantly different atm cimpared to1 and 2's
dont ghosts in general need to be killed by crushing it with the light
like cayde keeled over and died after his ghost got shot
as well as zavala got a disabled ghost and almost got sniped
also WE kill light hive by crushing ghosts
also they can go mftl to disapearim psure
psure we can just jump the cliff and live
since we get rezed to be outside the ship in desperado im psure
Bro Estela story quest is so good
No like in D2 Christmas event, you can casually watch and take note of two guardians jumping off the tower, respawning, and the. Laughing about it
I'm asking how Lightbearers are right now in regards to goofy things like this
FOUND THE WIKI PAGE
It's for the exotic gjost shell"Electronica Shell" and the lore it comes with is this:
Electronica Shell
For Ghosts who love to groove.
What Do Guardians Do When They're Not Saving the Solar System?
by Ember Hadad, Senior Editor at the City Herald
When I started my research for this piece, I expected to find that Guardians, when not waging war against alien invaders with mysterious paracausal powers, were not too different from their fellow citizens of the Last City.
Readers, I was wrong.
Guardians dance a lot more than we do.
"That's pretty much all they do, when I see them," says Park Soo-Yin, a maintenance worker in the Guardian headquarters. "Just dance. Sometimes in groups, sometimes all alone."
"Sometimes they kind of dance 'at' each other, if you know what I mean," Vanguard technician Kweku Aglah confirms. "I feel like I'm watching the nature channel."
Weird goofy stuff like this
As someone who has formed a line of people spinning in the tower, I love that Guardians dancing at each other is actual canon
there isnt really a "cliff" of sorts to take note of
This Sentinel vs Wish Dragons is getting very interesting.
What is the sentinel anyways, I wasn't really understanding since I thought they were giant robots created to defend earth? But they have their own conciousness?
Yes everything you said is true
They can't speak physically but can do so via telepathy
my question is: were they made by the traveler, like a ghost? if so, why would the traveler also find the need to make ghosts and guardians? were they created pre or post collapse?
oh dang i never saw that
that also kind of begs the question. the light was able to be “harnessed” in the golden age? i know its AU but in normal destiny canon i dont think its ever come up. the same thing with the exotic grenade launcher, we knew the Riis was “blessed by great machine” but it was never stated if they were actually gift the ability to wield the light ever.
I know the answer is probably just “alternate universe” and left at that, but its really intriguing to me.
Well in this AU, it seems that the races blessed by the traveler, learned how to use the light efficiently
Light was harnessed plenty of times in the Golden Age in canon, a lot of Golden Age weapons harness the Light in some manner
honestly, you’re probably right. nothing is coming to mind so idk
all i know is that being blessed by the traveler has always been pretty vague
more Attal slander is crazy
If this game is set in an alternative timeline, is it possible that Wolf and Ikora Rey could reproduce and as a result birth Cayde-6 onto the world of destiny? I mean just curiosity idk-
mods delete this man from the timeline
yo wth
Erase this lightbearer from existence NOW!!!
Ghost, dematerialize this man immediately
Come on man 🙁 it could be possible for it to be real lore
Nah humans
Do furries exist in the destinyverse? If no, could Netease implement them?
... Weirdo!
Wait they actually did
What!
Early drafts of Destiny had Tigermen as a race
Hah! Calling me a weirdo even tho my question was valid
But they were cut early on
I dont like that being true damn you
Actually- I’m glad these don’t exist
It’s extremely early draft Destiny stuff
These look like uncanny valley nightmare fuel
bungie was really into tigers in that first draft
Destiny’s engine is straight up called the Tiger Engine
It’s like their obsession with the number 7
I thought 9 was their obsession
It’s definitely the number 7, Bungie day is 7/7, Bungie’s 7-Step Plan for World Domination, John-117, etc
They didn’t make a Cayde-7 though
Maybe NetEase will… after they make Wolf and Ikora Rey… yes O_O
ERASE THYSELF!!!
Ew! Everyone knows wolf x tan is way more logical
excuse me
so destiny 2 has just combusted all of the lore by making a starwars dlc
☹️
How?
How do u get light of traveler tag?
ll
i dont mean literally i just mean in terms of integrity, by ripping content from starwars with no originality at all
i will die for Tin Can
who’s ghost is that?
Estella's
i want her sm more now
Hmmm hmmm hmmm! Yeah no
they didn't want 2 voices in her head ig lol
prolly not 😭
her quest was scary i wish they did more like that with the original characters
Where is Darth Vader?
estella really be going through it in the lore
explain how a starwars dlc where they just copied maps from starwars location and copied designs for weapons and enemies maintains any integrity and originality
that’s what i was thinking 😭
Easy vex, cabal, fallen boo hoo
👀 final boss is just gonna be a big cabal with a red light saber
huh?
Sounds like perfection
Would it be bad if spoilered the last main quest mission? How do I hide messages again lol?
Put || at the start and end
Dm it to me, I'll see what got flagged
Ah yeah no need to send the message then
They made him retire
wack
: ( can’t even have a little integrity here
He'll show up when they need more money
frick
anniversary 🙏🏼
Estella should’ve had a bow primary like in her quest ngl
Yeah
i did her opening quest and sighed when i thought about Ash & Iron
This game has Bow primary weapons?
Actual bows are probably for the future
Tan has Sniper and Scout, and crossbow is a heavy weapon not a primary (if primary means ?light?) and Ning Fei has crossbow
shin malphur when :lfg:
there's a setting for bows in game, and Estella has a scene where she learns how to use one
What if the Bow was made by combining the second letter of the alphabet with the sound of pain? :0 could destiny rising have written peak lore just now?
Tbh it’s kinda odd Estella and Umeko have the same weapon combos as other characters
(Second letter of alphabet) B (sound of pain) ow
🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷
I think weapon combos are set? Feels logical but also illogical because if the Bow is a new weapon, there also has to be another for the combo
I feel like there needs to be different combos to let certain exotics shine, like there’s no reason to run Polaris Lance as long as Izanagi/Borealis is always paired with it
I agree, and having long range weapons mixed with close range would also feel cool.
But because of this game you are either stuck with close range, long range or just explosions
Poor rocket launchers being relegated to one of the least used characters in the game
Mainly because Ikora has a grenade launcher
If she had any gun besides the grenade launcher, ppl would play her more
Ikora without her shotgun feels wrong
Like imagine having to reload each shot for both weapons, it gets annoying
personally i would've given Estella Bow/LMG and Umeko HC/Sniper
wait for reg weapon, wait for heavy weapon, wait for skill refresh. looooots of waiting
this is the dumbest requirement for a diary entry
We all need a rich friend ngl
Yeah I'm going to hopefully assume just like FGO for example they're going to change it post event
Yeah same even though her ability synergized
Is there any Xuan Wei's appearance in the story?
After the main campaign
The ability
Is Estela the strongest guardian we have in the story rn lore wise being she has 2 forms of abilities/powers?
Even though this is a alternate timeline prequel Osiris eventually goes through the vex portal and discovers they found a way to exist in every timeline which might connect it all?
I suppose its as connected to the whole as canonically possible since alternate timelines already exists in Destiny
Osiris isn't focused on the vex at the moment
Did we hear what Estela's wish was in her character quest??
He’s not, but there is that lore bit from Ikora’s storyline where canon Osiris somehow gets a letter sent through to Rising Ikora.
What? how? Why?
Timeline shenanigans is the best explanation. The letter from canon Osiris is written right before he enters the Infinite Forest.
Woooo space-time magic shenanigans
Drifter needs a hobby that isn’t trying to get shot in the face
Or just a new voice actor 😛
Ok so I've only done the first quest of it so far but HOLY COW ESTELLA'S CHARACTER QUEST IS PURE FIRE
We ||Actualy fight a Ahamkara. Well,. Kind of||
Remember there's a timeliness where our D1/D2 guardian dies there Final death. That eulogy by Saint 14.... which is a different timeline Saint 14.... oh no, I've gone cross-eyed thinking about it haha 😆
So anyting is possible
It was a fun battle
Also, been a while since I hated a destiny character this much. Everyone talking about hating on Kyle but this ||wish dragon|| is far more vile
Well, wolf almost got his light snuffed out permanently by being reckless
Worse, he almost got wished to death
Because Apparently wolf is a idiot who didn't learn from the FIRST time he made a wish in Veridia
Wolf, buddy, I like you but if you hear ANY voice asking what you wish for in the red sea rift tell them to bugger off
AND NOT IN A SMART "I WISH FOR YOU TO BUGGER OFF" WAY EITEHER JUST TELL THEM TO
Average hunter's final death
Hunter's keep trying to speedrun death
I cant hate kyle because kyle isnt kyle anymore
Yeah it's like:
Kyle/Balder: I regret all of my life choices and am completely and utterly sorry for it all
Wish Dragon: I wish for you to die
Guess which one I'm likely to dislike more
Hmm easy! Buhr!
Ok to be fair Buhr is kinda a jerk
Nah the dragon uuuh name kaldu kaido tera... Something something
Estela’s entire story is “and then it gets worse for her”
I mean, I'm not the only one who absolutely thinks the wish dragon that messed her up is the same one she's using a relic, right
I mean, it's kinda such a obvious twist that I'll be more surprised if it's NOT and it's actualy being helpful
I actually hope its riven
Begs the question of how did she get her hands on Ahamkara bones before her death
I'm not sure she did. I'd wager a small amount of glimmer on her would be mother hunting a deer or something, findintg a weird bone and going "Keeping that"
Then either the next day or even months later, Young E makes a wish nearby and then fire.
An absolute happenstance leading to a tragedy.
She was revived with it
...Either that or it has something to do with a nearby village worshipping a dragon like the daughter of spring outfit suggests
Well, other guess then. Fallen attack dragon worship village. E grabs bone to keep it from Fallen sacrilge (good call, honestly but for wrong reasons). Then then get shot trying to escape the fallen attack on the house.
Fallen completely ignore the bone when looting her, either because they know what it is from old eliskni legends and want no part of it, or they just see a funni bone and go "Ok but the leather's more useful and I can only carry so much"
X time later, her Ghost shows up.
It gets excited having found their Lightbearer, completely misses the bone, casts rez, the rest is history.
Are there furry worshippers too? I‘d join them
Wait so her bone thing is from an ahamkara?
@zinc pasture yep
Ok so what did she wish?
Did she wish for something like "damn it's cold, wish it was hotter round here" summoning a Fallen attack?
If it were me I would have wished for Furries to become reality, unfortunately me and Estela don’t think alike so furries don’t exist yet in the universe 😔
Wait I just realized, this means Estella is rocking an exotic arm guards
She's wearing the bones of an ahamkara for armor, and the two I know available in D2 are exotics!
There is zero point in having any fur suit
Different sentimental values will always clash since they are personalized and linked to individuals rather than a group, therefore your deduction that my idea may be pointless will have no effect or consequence on my current beliefs.
I would wish for a nickel to see what would happen
Probably another plane hitting the third tower
A fur suit in the MIDDLE OF AN INVASION is like having a target on your back, since they are usually coloured
Wonder what'll happen if I wish for something huge, like for the Traveller to blow uo or something
That will indirectly cause our ghost to explode
Well duh, that an obvious consequence
Don’t educate me on warfare tactics, this is a matter of aestheticism rather than functionality.
Do the fallen differentiate between different hunters and ghosts? No, they do not therefore the presentation on the battlefield does not matter in the slightest and we can therefore adjust ourselves to our ideal appearance
Unless you are a lightbearer, its best to focus on survival before fashion
Wait by furri3s did you mean like straight up anthro people like Zootopia? Ot actual fursuited people who find animals hot?
I believe in a world where both can coexist but if I had to choose, I would say fursuited people
What if the enemy is someone who always and only spares furries, wouldn’t wearing a fursuit ensure your safety then?
@zinc pasture ahamkara armour dates from Destiny 1. And most are in destiny 2
Don't remember D1 exotics in all honesty
Was a f2p while playing it, so my best item was the Strangers Rifle
Just because fantasies come true, does not mean the acknowledgment or understanding of others will follow
???
Every other race that isn't humanity will straight up gun you down no questions asked
We are dealing with aliens who have never seen a furry
So if we were to introduce furries to them and they would fall in love, wouldn’t that be a new kind of success then?
Goodluck explaining to the hive or cabal
A presentation sometimes speaks more than verbal communication 😔 the ability to see is sometimes enough to spread the message
The hive kill for fun
Maybe a change of heart will make them want to breed for fun? But then they would be no different from humans which is boring-
They kill because they have too and they follow the sword logic which also means they won't spare the weak
What if they see the furries as epitome of strength? And they change their sword logic to furry loving logic? Can’t argue with that
They won't stray away from the sword logic
Cannot assume that since they have yet to be introduced to furries 🧐
the sword logic IS furry loving logic. the hive believe that love and death are the same thing. when they kill a furry, they're expressing the purest form of love possible
If love and death are the same, is hate keeping them from committing suicide then? 🤨
Got me pondering
nah they just kill the people they hate too, murder's kinda their solution to everything. suicide is extremely against the sword logic since it's a self-admission you don't have the strength to survive
So now love, death and hate are the same, doesn’t that mean they have no emotions and only a drive for killing?
Sounds like a dog with rabies
they can still feel emotions, they're just 100% utterly convinced that the sword logic is the right and only way
Sorrow, because we have killed so much (eighteen species this century alone), and joy for the same reason. Joy that we have put down these blights. Scoured them away and left the universe clean, ready to move towards its final shape. We are a wind of progress. Ripping parasites from the material world — for if they were not parasites, we would be unable to kill them, and they would still exist.
And what is that final shape? It is a fire without fuel, burning forever, killing death, asking a question that is its own answer, entirely itself. That is what we must become.
My worm grows fat and hungry. I feed it with whole worlds. My astronomers tell me they can sense the Deep Itself, and that we are conquering our way towards it.
I think joy and sorrow will be the same thing soon. Like love and death. ``` - oryx
I see no mention of a furry, therefore Oryx‘s View is wrong
he kills some bird people in another lore card
You mean indigenous people? He could be American
Crazy comparison
On the sixth pace, Oryx speaks, saying, listen to me, Emperor Raven, and I will describe to you the Last True Shape, which is written on my tablet. And he puts out his fist, full of black fire, and he swallows up the Emperor Raven with a wound.
Aiat! Only Oryx knows this power, the power to take.
On the seventh pace, the Perfect Raven comes out of Oryx’s wound, and she spreads her wings across Taishibeth. Never again is a Taishibethi child born. She is perfect, she enacts the will of Oryx.
On the eighth pace, the Tai say, listen, you are spoilers, you are sphincters and excreta, you rot, why do you kill? We made silver orbitals and golden star webs. We hatched eggs. We had a good thing. Our clothes were nice, our food was famous. With one of her feathers our Emperor could have tickled the gods.
On the ninth pace, Oryx says, this is the only god, this ability to dictate what will and will not exist, this power to go on existing. This is your god. It is never ticklish.
On the tenth pace the Taishibethi are extinct.```
damn Estela's quest is actually so peak
I wonder what happens after the quest?
It has no furries in it though
Bro has lost the plot
He had a cool titan helmet to or is that the other big hive knight boss
NO! The plot has lost me 😔
Idk
refresh my memory but im some what still getting to know the whole lore behind destiny( missed a few dlcs on destiny 2 before coming back like taken king etc) whats sword logic?
Ok Estella's quest was actualy really bleeding good. And good on wolf for smashing that thing to bits and taking on a curse
Also, if you want furries in game sieg, simply wish for it. I'm sure it won't backfire, Oh Wisher Mine...
Ok, sword logic.....think of it like a really screwed up belief, so much so, that that belief strengthens their resolve, and thus, strengthens their belief even more
Honestly, I don't play the destiny games anymore, but Hive lore was fascinating about two years ago. I dug in deep, and that stuff was fun to read
Yeah, Sword Logic is basicaly the beleif that "You are the strongest being to exist and most prove your right to exist by killing everything else"
Somehow, the hive have actualy made that a tangiable rule that gives them power.
Thing is, it's a (heh) double edged sword. If you get killed instead...
also its a pyramid scheme don't forget that little bit lol
considering at a point the worms will have nothing left to feed on, as Rhulk intended
The Ahamkara boss says it in the quest when she’s taunting her
Stlil love how much interaction all the lightbearers and ghosts have , so much more when you compare it to the main games lol
In D1 and 2 the ghost does all the talking and it gets annoying sometimes :\
But D1 and D2 were a role play, not a gacha. It’s understandable that your created and self built character lacks emotional depth (since it is you who kind of has to fill that imaginary hole), but in this case this wouldn’t work since right now the characters are the „merchandise“ and therefore required to have personality, quirks, background etc. for example would you be interested in pulling (and paying) for characters if they were just like a blank page but with abilities?
we could of still had more interactions with other ghosts though, wasnt till later that started to happen
Well, true.
But they were more focused on gameplay than anything else - and let's be honest, Bungie nailed the gameplay on D1 and D2. Story, not so much, and a lot of other things, not so much. But they nailed gameplay.
@grim path I miss Dinklebot ghost.... said no one ever
How bad is it when I'm starting to quote Crowther....
ok so i managed to get the Spring Diary Entry for Estela, and it looks like it confirms why Estela had an ahamkara on her corpse
||she was basically in a cult||
the question is what sort of (blank)?
Question what happened to the sand eaters valus I read the data mentioned he “vanished”
it's always a ||cult|| lmao
Valus? Hmm probably a future antagonist
Hmmmm
||the springtime dragon kind||
So weird question. Is Attal Indian? Like i know she SOUNDS French but like for some reason I see her I think Indian.
||Springtime dragon kind sounds so Jolly lmao||
She was resurrected in North Africa, according to her bio. My assumption is that she was Moroccan in life.
Anyone know anything about the traveler and the sea of white ?
Sea of white?? 🤨
That's what the child of light said i'm just repeating what she said x)
The Speaker?
Seems to be a new lore concept in Rising. Could be a reference to the bunch of silver wing trees you can see around the big one, could be something else. It wasn't mentioned before in Destiny lore.
Yes
The tree kinda make me think of yggdrasil from northern cultures plus the sanctuary for the lightbearer that was wielding a hammer as a relic charged with arc energy
It's hard to know if it aligns with main line lore orif it's a new concept. Speakers perceive the "thoughts" of the Traveller as others did in the Golden Age. They see lucid dreams which they interpret it's possible the Sea of White does not exist as a real place
There are other options, that it might relate to as well. A lake of Radiolaria AKA "Vex Milk" could be considered a Sea of White
Is there also a sea of furries in the lore? I‘d love to swim in a sea of furries
Anyone know about Ning Fei's background?
Things that could be considered as a Sea of White from main line lore exist on both the Moon which is haunted or within the Dreaming City of the Distributary which is where the Awoken lived or rather some still do
Love Ning Fei so much as a character.
The Trees exist in the lore. Trees of Silver Wings exist in places where the Traveller terraformed like Io however in the main line lore one does not exist on Earth.
Yeah his back story is kinda sad you can play it
I haven't done that much of his back story beyond the first few quests with him being Sun Wukong'ed like Journey to the West
Do we know how the exotics are made or where they're coming from ?
so all the exotics that are ported from the mainline games have lore that shows they were basically stolen from alternate timelines from the main one, such as timelines where Spider/Amanda was killed, Crimson's lore tab directly references the mainline game's lore tab
Jotunn has the fireteam trying to grind a black armory forge in one timeline lol
Hey yall!
I notice somthing a bit odd. I found the trap the Traveler was in the 'Red War' campain. Curious on why its here in DR? Anyone got any lore on it?
(You gotta check the bounty tab. I cant send photos but it is there)
there is some background art that's directly taken from Destiny, like some season of the Dawn background art so i wouldn't take all of the background art as canon in this timeline
Ah okay, i thought it was weird but this makes sense. Thanks!!!
Maybe they really needed a toaster
Estela had a great story tbh
All the side characters had decent stories so far 😄
Kabr's was a bit disappointing imo
Weapons are classified as exotic for a variety of reasons in Destiny, but typically fall into a few camps
Unusual Construction (Weapons of extremely high build quality or that use extremely rare/exotic materials)
Unusual Ownership (“Banned” Weapons, Enemy’s Weapons, One of a kind designs (prior to replication via engram))
Unusual Functionality (Weapons made with extremely atypical functionalities or use cases, often featuring golden age “gimmick” guns, or top of the line Haven Era constructions, or otherwise weapons with supernatural/superscientific abilities)
Dont play Kabr or Ikora ... no grab
Where is the shaxxs 🙁
Oh, he'll be around as a 5 star at some point, I'm sure.
I certainly agree, though Praedyth getting a mention at the end did make me smile. I'd be very interested to see the Rising take on him, since Kabr is completely different to how I envisioned him in the main timeline.
At the current point in Destiny Rising, is it possible that Emperor Calus has already been overthrown by the Midnight Coup?
No calus isnt Even born
Is it possible for us to make our own relics using radiancite?
Thats hmm probably not?
They can channel the light, so I thought it would be cool for a future character to have their relic be made from it
So what is this is it a dif time line or something or before the games idk im new to the game
Got it cuz cant play d2 so got it
I remember that the Cabal entries in the in-game lore mention the Emperor and military-political leaders issuing orders from Torobatl. This is interesting, because the Cabal Empire only moved its capital to Torobatl after Calus ascended to the throne.
It's both! It's an alternate timeline, set in the Dark Age of humanity, which was long before the events of Destiny 1 even in the main timeline.
So it's an alternate prehistory to Destiny 1/2.
No it simply says it became their new home once a new emporer was chosen. You kinda have to prove that is calus which in rising there really isnt any proof of
Given he's the emperor of the Cabal who did move their capital in the main timeline, that would be an odd choice to change. Why would we assume it's someone new instead of the lore character that already matches up to what's stated across both games?
Could just as easily say that there's no proof it isn't Calus 😛
Its hundreds possibily thousand of years before even d1. Theres frankly zero proof that cabal live for that long
That's actually incorrect. Per the lore 'An Invitation' from Destiny 2, Cabal do live for thousands of years.
Oh?
They slowly ossify over centuries unless maintained, but are otherwise nearly immortal in the right conditions.
Calus himself states he's seen more than a thousand years of war in the empire.
Huh damn they older than i thought
Well if thats the case than yeah rising could be after his exile
The phrase "Fear an old man in a professuion where people die young" really DOES apply to the Cabal and their military huh
I cant wait to kill that wish dragon
If you are in it for the fight, the coolest fight in that questline already happened on quest one.
If you are in it for the plot and feels, the best is yet to come
And yeah, Zelphachad is kinda a jerk
All my homies hate Zelphachad
Real
Also, I have no lore based or concrete proof that it's not unusual for a Ahamkara to feed twice on one wish, but I'm 95% sure that makes her a glutton among her kind too
At least I'm interpreting that bit as her being a glultton even among Ahamkara
Seems accurate
Hi
Hi!
Does the lore here tie heavy into the games? Or is it more standalone?
I may need to brush up on 1 and 2.
same thoughts exactly
General background and worldbuilding, for the most part remains the same, but Rising is an alternate timeline set during the dark age, well before Destiny 1. The story is self-contained and stand-alone!
Ok cool, so we aren't talking any kind of direct prequel. I habe started to dabble in the lore but I was damn D1 was forever ago and im sure I dont remember much. So its good to know I can enjoy this for what it is.
I recently was doing Kabr's character Quest so far any kind of fumbled it but then again Kevarrh came at the wrong timing also the ending of makes me feel sorry for the guy knowing what's going to happen to him and the two others
i kinda get that feel that the current kabr is kinda like "Pre timeskip" in a way
seeing as his fireteams VoG run takes place around the forming and mass migration to the last city after the dark age im pretty sure (Depends on the weird time shenanigans VoG has)
i always envisioned him as this stoic serious dude
I think he probably becomes stoic and serious after a lot of vex related trauma
Which, well, hasn't happened yet.
he seems very young and eager to prove himself with adventures and whatnot, maybe something happens pre VoG to get him like that
oh theres another even sadder storyline. you'll know when you play it. lol
I love Kabr, he's my 2nd main. Not a fan of the relentless need for validation but playing him is fun. lol
Jolder?
do you want to know? jolder is not it but her's was pretty emotional thrilling too
estela
im so glad they did these stories and play to unlock more, etc etc.
yep!
yeah pretty much my thoughts on her Quest in a nutshell
lol. it was good but definitely not what i enjoyed at all. lol. Not into those kinds of stories. but it was good for what it was. I didn't skip anything.
The voice surprised me, but the story made more sense. Lol. Her voice makes Gwen an extrovert to me now, haha
the ahamkhara looked sick asf too
hope they do a fight with a full reveal like in witch queen
i dont want to spoil anything, but estela's story is depressing and (not quite a spoiler but a serious matter in real-world) ||suicidal-themed||, but an amazing and beautiful environment place.
lol yeah that thing was intense. They went all out from the normal game for her storylines, i liked it
you can definitely see the rise in quality when comparing early campaign to the end of the campaign and her character story, especially when you do some of the other ones
rn i feel like its estela, tan - 2 and then gwynn in terms of character stories
I've been putting off character stories in order to collect things (I cant help it lol) sounds like I should really knock some out.
I do the character stories when I run out of pinnacle energy. Plus I love Lore
Oh that's a good idea, fill in the gaps.
i absolutely adore how Estela's story talks about the mental part of being effectively a walking corpse
We haven't met all the iron lords yet no? We haven't met or heard about Efrideet yet have we??
hmm
I loved Efrideet's Spear from Destiny 1.
most of the iron lords haven't been seen yet in Rising
We know Fellwinter from Fellwinters peak but still not much about them either
considering there's 17 known Iron Lords
I look forward to seeing more of them. Been great seeing the iron lords so far
Hopefully they forge their weapons in destiny rising. Would be cool to play with Fellwinter sniper cough sorry Fellwinters Lie or Jolder's Hammer. (Also disappointed that Jolder doesn't use Heavy Machineguns but a sword.)
I mean, you just said you wanted Jolder's Hammer. Guess what existing weapon type would best fit a hammerish weapon.
Oh right you mean the Machine Gun
Honestly I always took it as though it wasn't their actual weapons but named after them
I was just hoping. You're most likely right that they were named after them
can u switch ur main char appearance if u messed up at the start?
Nah, we ugly from start to finish now
forget about ugly, ive got a girl with the deepest male voice available
Oh, I consider this trans inclusitvity
I want to know this too ^^
we've got 4 i believe and one of them mentioned
So, I don't have estela to play the full story quest yet but estela and her relic mentioned something at the end of the first mission that caught my interest...
Estela: "I will slay the ahamkara that granted my wish"
Her relic: "(I forgot the first part of this line) o' wielder mine"
Is it possible to predict despite not knowing anything else that the ahamkara that granted whatever wish estela had, was actually her relic?
Salve 🙌🏼🙏🏼
That is a very powerful question to ask
I know, and I was honestly expecting the first response to be "get estela and find out for yourself" tbf
No comment. And honestly, even though I got her, I’m still trying to figure out exactly her past life.
Sameeeee, we got lore on how Wolf died but not their past life, estela is the closest thing to having a backstory on someone's previous life before becoming a guardian
Question, what are some Handcannons that would be fine to have in Rising lorewise?
I know that Ace, Thorn, and The Last Word won't be in Rising because the two owners are probably way beyond Risings time
there are multiple exotics already that “shouldn’t” be in rising. their lore implies pretty directly they’ve been stolen from different points in time for unknown reasons
estela is great
Well that's lame
Is that like Vex lore?
i dont think we know. just that the info on the guns has stories about fireteams stealing the weapons
Ahhhh
since Ikora is in this game, can we safely say it's the same "world/universe" as the main game? if yes, is this a prequel?
It's an alternate, non-canon universe, set a few hundred years before Destiny 1
thank you. That was bugging me for abit and I got various answers from searching the discord
... I finished estel story and is that it wheres the rest? What am i supposed to do now wait until november for act 2?
Did you finish the entire quest line or just what you had available due to proficiency level?
The entire
Oh can you show me it? :3
i havent seen any people mention gwynns character story at all, is it as good as estela's or tans?
