Idk if you look at the historic meta, calamity/morgrans/etc have generally been heavily geared towards rapid ad clear, which strongly benefits characters with AOE spam like Ning and HH (and previously gwynn/estela before HH)

If you're even using your weapon for ad clear, it's usually going to be an automatic or a shotgun because they're easy to fight with close quarters

In calamity, Umeko has value with izzy while other sniper characters do not, and Estela instantly fell out of meta because every character after her does significantly higher burst damage. If jaren ran faster than ning he would make him irrelevant since he kills higher health enemies faster

1 person on your time can add clear most of the strike

I mean there are only 2 sniper characters, and I don't think her reload speed is what makes Umeko better than Tan personally

If you even want Izi specifically, the reload speed is a bigger deal on timed boss phases imo, rather than shinkas and such where you can just reload during transitions

But I'm not even sure Izi is the reason you run Umeko, I think Umeko is the reason you run Izi

You run Umeko for her debuff and then just run Izi because it's a good weapon for her

Tan is useless in Calamity because the only thing that makes Umeko usable is the utility she has

Tan has no useful calamity util, bad movement, and no close range combat

The fact that he runs 40k instead of izi is far from the most important problem with him

I think the title placement is set until the following week. One time I remember checking the Kabr leaderboards and I was #2 in my region, then I upgraded some stuff and managed to get to #1 but the title didn't change until the next week

Correct. It’s when u max, that it is login based. Whoever logs in first at reset gets it next week. Also, regional and server wide aren’t even the same mechanics (including screenshot). This was bc it was changed. It used to be who maxed first kept it, and was resetting each season. (Netease forgot to change regional)

Yup we thought of using things like commendations as weights. Essentially my simple algorithm for that was take the average of everyone who is a contender, and if you are at or above that average ur score multiplier is 1.0. If below, its like 0.5 for ex. (0.5 X 20,000 is 10,000). That gets multiplied to it. My emea alt has like 200 commendations for ex, and would not be able to push just by having proficiency alone. (bc u can exploit chaos now to boost prof).
Thats just a bandaid, using mechanics that already exist.

PvP is so bad, Iron Banner in March will be aids as the meta, Pvp in this game is 100 times more dogshi* and more abysmal than Destiny 2, the only thing we are missing is them doubling the ability recharge, to make it the exact same thing but more aids, its so fun to fight GL chars in this game

🤔 I think power leaderboards should consider the highest stage you get in the expanse using that charachter, and the highest KD ratio in pvp (if that is ever updated) you have gotten with that char (per cycle). Ontop of the other algo i have suggested. Think i could build that to be even better, and in a way that there is still competition.

Yup. Not sure what to make of it. Literally out of nowhere as well. Loaded into the 5-stage 3 player Bulwark Ops and couldn't place towers. Assumed it was just that match so when I went to decrypt engrams I was surprised to see I couldn't talk to the lady or swap characters.

This happened to me once, it mistakenly thinks you're still in an activity. You need to leave the game for a while until it automatically disconnects you, try waiting an hour

That explains why repairing seemingly worked for me but not them, it took me around an hour to download all the files because my internet is doodoo. So repairing didn't actually do anything, waiting is what fixed it lol

I can confirm that reinstalling did in fact fix the issue. Whether that's due to the time it took to reinstall or not, I'm unsure. But it's at least working now. Thanks for all the help :)

Hopefully there is a big update in s4. Marathon will likely be the event that determines that. If its a decent hit, bungie wont even be paying attention. Maybe even bikini skins at that point. If its a dud, we might have stalls, and bungie might want to be more involved. If its in the middle, we are lwk cooked bc bungie is gonna want both, and tear it apart likely on accident.

Marathon is a game that will have a small niche following (around 9-12K on steam after the first 2-3 months) extraction shooters are already a niche game and there will be people who try it thinking “Oh a bungie game!” And then just disconnect from its gameplay loop

a bungie game as of recent is basically a load of promises with zero actual direct communication other than the "we are listening" yet still no road map.

also even if d3 was to start production today we would be looking at probably 3-4 years minimum at the earliest. the only reason d2 was built so quick was because it was a mashup of cut content originally designed for d1.

d3 would be nice but would the community be willing to let d2 go without content long enough for d3 to live. and at that point how many people would return.
a steam port of d1 would be better with steam sign in on the d1 servers. and reactivate trials and iron banner within that game. mabey have the older devs that made d1 make new content for it in the way they see fit and have d1 and d2 run side by side as 2 live service via dlc games

Wolf isnt rlly a 4 star tho, thats the default char. Wolf is neither good or bad, and thats just the default for the starting char. The game is balanced around wolf, after all.

Its my experience. The only one that would take my place is a HH. The only one a ikora's would be maru. Fair is fair. (Its 4x the dmg btw, maybe a little less, at the lowest the diff would legit be 3x dmg. HH just pumps out so much dmg it skews it.)
