A player with 5,000 points could match with scores of 5,000 or +/- 1,000 points from there current score (for the most part). A score with 5,000 points matching with 3,000 points would happen sometimes if you are with other players with a lower score 3,000-4,000. It was like daisy chaining ELO scores in matchmaking.
