fusion 360 has a free license thats limited in projects and advanced functionality. i would highly recommend looking at the "learn fusion 360 in 30 days" videos on youtube on a channel called Product Design ONline. you will be a Fusion 360 professional in a few hours

I’m not sure why, but for some reason it doesn’t charge, I can connect it to pc and it sees the com port, but no charging, I changed the bq and the other thing but still doesn’t charge, I’m pretty sure everything thing in soldered good. I will just use tp4056 to charge it

If you buy the board from pcbway that’s is listed on the website and choose assembled, does that include all the components? It was like $110 for 5 boards assembled.

That’s just what the system says. It’s more assembled because it has to be reviewed by someone to input the BOM components. It’s closer to $400 assembled if I remember correctly.

You could just do one board assembled and just have the other boards as is.

hey everyone, I've ran into a problem. I've soldered together all components required for the pcb but when I plug it into my pc I only hear usb disconnecting sound one after the other and serial usb/jtag reappearing again and again

my usb c port is clean and cable is as well, flux remants washed with alcohol

yeah, but it doesn't have built-in antenna, like esp32. Only ipex plug, so the question is more about frying cc1101 upon boot with no external antenna hooked up

I know from fpv experience that it's very easy to fry vtx if power it up without nice swr antenna, but the thing there is that it immediately starts transmitting when power is supplied. Is it the case for bruce?

running it without antenna may burn it but not instant...but using external antenna wont

I've built bruce pcb and everything about esp32 worls fine: wifi, ble, but in RF menu once I pick spectrogram or listening mode, waterfall is completely red and spectrogram is just empty

so the question is more about troubleshooting this issue, may it be that I've burnt it

I use 433mhz antenna from lilygo board with swr ~1.6 on 433 so it should be fine but still for some reason "rf" menu apps don't work for this band

so I think something is wrong with cc1101👀 and my first blame is the antenna

I got a set of pcbs ordered from pcbway and fully assembled. now I would like to test and flash one before I put it all together. I cannot get it to work though. Do I have to put all pcbs together first before trying to flash it? I am trying to just flash the single main board with the TFT. When I connect to it via usb-c, the ttyUSB port shows up shortly and disappears again, the board seems to reset. Not sure if I am just stupid and missing something or if the board is faulty and there is a short somewhere.

I know I'm new with no rep, but I went to buy one from elecrow but they're sold out. Got a quote from pcbway the other day and the terrifs, duty and shipping suck but if I have to order 5 might as well and sell the other 4, not looking to make a huge profit but if I sell the 4 so that the 5th is cheap or free id do it in a heartbeat.

It might be issues with either led 3 DOUT or VIN/GND/DIN on the next LED. Be aware that the LEDs are not laid out in the exact 1-16 order on the PCB.

Yes, if the installation succeeded, and Bruce is running fine, you might be able to control it through Bruce Lab

Press F12 (open the browser Console) and check the logs... If theres an error, reload the page and try to connect again

Hey! Had an idea for the PCB — what do you think about adding some basic environmental sensing?

• temp/humidity/pressure - e.g BME280
• light sensor – e.g. BH1750 or VEML7700
• air quality - e.g. SGP4x (SGP40/SGP41)

Recently saw this project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r21lvaw40nY&t=166s and it feels like people really like having simple environment measurements built in. I think this would be a nice value-add without overcomplicating the design (because of I2C communication).

Do you think there’s enough room on the board or would it make the layout too messy? It could be treated as add-on to the board like ws2812.

Easy fix.

Looks like one of the button is pressed, right ? Use multimeter to identify the button And check joints on it, if they are 100% Good remove the screen And there is this strange resistor, add flux And resolder it, chceck esp joints add flux And resolder it. Should be Good
