If you're going to post something like that, I think it's best to put it unzipped on your Github (with folders and the like) and the person who wants to download the Github can automatically zip it for the download. This way someone can see what is downloading and draw their own conclusions.

Did you upload the files to your folders individually or did you try to upload the entire zip? If it's individual, I think it will work, if it's zip, it won't, it exceeds Github's file size limit.
