Game Settings Reset After Update

All the settings in the main menu have been completely reset back to the default values after this most recent update version: 0.10.0.5.120-073042fb. Keybinds reset, Audio reset, Video reset, everything. Really hope that this is not intentional and not the beginning of a trend where you guys reset everything to default with each and every single update, that would not be cool at all.

Just confirming and adding to this bug report that this confused me that I lost all settings on my private server since I defaulted to the wrong character.

Same here. Keybinds almost got my wife killed since she remapped dash. xD

What Changed:

• Gameplay. - I had the Show game play stats on.
• Mouse And Keyboard - extra button for dodge gone
• Host server invite code

No it is not in the patch notes that the settings are all reset to default, I just read them again twice, and it is not in there. Nada about stealth resetting the settings. Patch notes is about cloud saves, new save systems, and corrupt saves, nothing about settings getting reset, and how they killed the wolf icon and made it look like a long eared fennec fox.

Known Issue
Characters created before version 0.10.0.4 cannot be deleted due to Steam Cloud synchronization. This is a known issue and will be fixed in a future update.

Your game settings will be reset after this patch. Please back them up manually if needed.

This is what the page says on my end, BEFORE hitting the Refresh button.

"Known Issue

Characters created before version 0.10.0.4 cannot be deleted due to Steam Cloud synchronization. This is a known issue and will be fixed in a future update."

AFTER hitting refresh, it adds that line at the bottom, so it was not in the original patch notes.

Check the highlighted part, you will see that the game settings line is not there I took this screenshot before they added that line.

So as the screenshot proves, they added in that line into the patch notes after the fact, which honestly is kinda dirty.

That way like 15+ hours ago or so.

I posted my bug report before they updated the patch notes, shortly after the patch went live.

As a side note, this patch introduces save bugs, corruption and steam sync issues too! My coop host had loading errors and character resets after each of last two patches.

Not surprising, I lost several hours of progress on one of my characters and I do not use Steam Cloud Save at all. Never have, never will.

We had to disable it to be able to play again - after figuring out how to restore characters and world saves (again!) Hope they figure it out soon and don't ruin our saves again

IF they would have put that line that the game settings would be reset in the ORIGINAL patch notes post, then I would have absolutely backed up my gameusersettings.ini file before allowing Steam to update my game. 🙁

I have backups of my save profiles, characters and worlds folders before updating, I wish I had saved a copy of the Config folder as well, but there was no mention of settings being overwritten, so didn't cross my mind. 🙁
