Exactly the same thing happens to me, but only when I try to join my friend's world, it stays on the infinite loading screen but I hear everything that happens in the game in the background

Update: After several failed attempts and creating this post, the game finally loaded correctly on my next try. The issue seems intermittent. I will keep this thread updated if it happens again.
