My friend and I are playing co-op through the in-game host server gamemode, but since the last update we often have the problem that after a few minutes the game boots us to the main menu and all progress is lost. This is especially annoying for me, who is joining him, as my inventory does save, so when building, I often lose resources.

Hello! Very sorry that you are having issues, please see this guide on how to try to tackle the conenctivity issues:
https://playwindrose.com/faq/#faq-connectivity
We will try these the next time we play and i will update as soon as we do! Thank you for the help for now
It seems to work for now, thanks again
And now we got the issue again ._.
Following as I’m having the same issue. They can join mine without issue, but I cannot join theirs
I had the issue when I was using mods after I removed them it worked
My friend and I are both playing Vanilla so that can't be the issue on our end. Would be great if it were tho, easy to fix haha
I’m playing vanilla, done a lot of bug shooting. Baffled.
Yeah I have no idea then, sorry
can you please provide more details, what is the issue and what had fiexed it last time.
Yea so my friend is hosting the game for us, not via a dedicated server but via the ingame host feature. Last time we had the issue it would kick us both to the main menu, not saving anything we have done, except for our characters. This would happen arround 5 minutes after playing i would say. Then after we both did the steps from the faq website we didn't have the problem for arround 6-7 hours of constant gameplay. Then yesterday the problem returned but this time it would kick us to the main menu after arround 5-20 minutes. and today we tried again, after doing all the steps in the faq again and we got kicked to the main menu after arround 30 minutes. this time saving some progress but not all.
Are there any logs that i should send aswell? And if so where would i find those?
Can yo try doing this, and tell me if it works for you. Download this file and put it to this folder:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\Config\Windows\Game.ini
Sadly did not work, we got the problem again after arround 2 hours of playing today
Oh we just noticed, the Game.ini is gone in the directory we put it
yes the game would delete this file every time you launch the game, it's an experimental fix right now and should be included in the game with the nearest update. os if it worked for you please keep the file at hand and put it into this folder before launching it
Oh okay, yea we will put it in again and try again now
after today's update you will see a tick when trying to connect to a server saying Force Relay COnnectoin - you can use this instead of the file now
