#CONNECTIVITY ISSUES TEST GROUP — PARTICIPANTS WANTED
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I bought Nitrado service today after downloading the game to get an online dedicated server going. As soon as it was set up, I tried to connect to it and it said "Connection error" and that is it. I couldnt even start the game in the dedicated server, currently just exploring locally as a temporary activity.
Are you up to participate in the playtest? If not, please create the thread in #1493364524705775657. We're not reviewing connectivity issues here, this thread is solely for participants recruitment
Been running my own server on my own local hardware. Nothing super strong but I use it for most games like this. Valheim/palworld/etc they all work well. This game is no exception, other than the outage today the only problem we've had is a short delay from breaking a resource node to the resource actually appearing in game (break grass -> wait 1-2s -> grass appears)
2-3 players
att
NA/CST
Awesome, so for you everything works fine right now? (if yes - we need you as well to make everything keeps working fine after an update)
I haven't logged on since the back end crash this morning. Would you like me to try real quick?
I host it on a separate machine within my local network using the SteamCMD variant.
Player count at the time of crash were 2, but we're a group of up to 5 people.
Haven't checked in again within the last ~2 hours.
Can upload you folks the log file from the time of the crash.
EU/Germany
Yes please
Have you had any issues with connectivity? or just random crash?
Crashed roughly 2 hours ago, connectivity errors since then. Been keeping an eye on here if any news arose regarding this.
@unique spoke @sacred zephyr Any of you guys available for testing by any chance? (sorry for ping)
If you're up to test on beta branch I'm including you into the group
Need a couple minutes, but I'd be open to testing
I use the simple start for reference. Server loaded up, I joined in no problem. Both client and server are on the same subnet
Awesome, will you be able to test our beta branch tonight a little bit?
I am open for testing. I run a home server and experience server shutdown issues when no one is online. This always requires a server reset for players to connect.
-Server shows offline and requires a reboot for anyone to connect. current work around is forcing startserverforeground to attempt to run every hour which keeps the ports open
- 3-4 players from various locations play
- comcast/xfinity
- USA/virginia
Depending on how you define tonight yes. I'm heading out in about an hour, then I'll be back around 5p cst I think
It will be ready for tests in around 1-2 hr and then we would like some tests within next 8hrs roughly
It's mainly about connectivity, so crashes may still persist, but would be good to test to make sure you won't see any additional crashes =\
I might be able to spin it up and let the people I play with test it while I'm gone. Otherwise I'll be back towards the later end it sounds like
Its odd because it doesnt crash or give any errors. just seems to close the connection
Adding you to test channel then, thanks
Hi there, since last update, me (local hosting dedi server) and my friend have issue : when he try to join my game , after very long loading time his game crash
I am also experiencing connectivity issues with dedicated server hosting on AMP.
Can I please be added to the test?
Salom hammaga. Do‘stimning serveriga ulana olmayapman. Sinovda ishtirok etmoqchiman.
I am the owner of the server but seem to have no issue connecting. Region IE
Would that connectivity term include this error:
018c:err:eventlog:ReportEventW L" [002401] FR5NetModule::StartupModule::<lambda> ASSERTION FAILED: result.bytes_transferred == buffer_->Length() [D:\\Source\\Build\\work\\grpcRepoCheckoutDir\\src\\core\\lib\\event_engine\\windows\\windows_endpoint.cc:355] [D:\\Source\\Build\\work\\gameRepoCheckou"...```
As of couple hours or so ago it crahes the server everytime some1 tries to join. Had no problem with the server at all since launch. (Note: running wine inside docker)
We're basically adding direct IP connection with your choice of port to connect and also possility for you to cherrypick our connectivity server for your dedicated one if you dont want to use direct IP
@crisp hornet Can I test too? 🙂
And we need to make sure nothing breaks
sure
perfect
You have locally hosted dedicated as well?
yes
Adding you to the test group
If you're up to test new beta branch in 1-2 hr, I will add you to the test group
Sure, adding you rn
Can I please be added too, running a dedicated self hosted server. Thanks )
Sure, adding you
If you're up to test beta branch in 1-2 hr I"ll do you to the group
This is what we're adding
I host on a miniPC in my house. Located in Houston, ISP is Comcast/Xfinity. Connection works fine, but ping is usually ~140. It's ~100 this morning. The server is on the same gigabit network as my desktop. I have one other player who's in Atlanta, ISP unknown. Direct IP connection is what I've used for Valheim, Enshrouded, and Conan Exiles without issue. Hoping it'll fix things for Windrose.
Not sure if my problem really applies to this, but I am down to test w/e. Not hosting locally, but on a rented server in frankfurt, germany. Local ISP is 1&1.
Can you participte in testing beta branch today?
Would be much appreciated
Absolutely.
it's odd that sometimes the server log shows "BL connect " but no response
Im down to help
•I'm using Nitrado dedicated server. The server shows in recent played but greyed out. Plus the Nitrado server seems to go into a restarting loop.
• 2 - 3 players
• Spectrum (No Security Shield active)
• USA - Ohio
We;re looking for testers with their own dedicated servers, not 3rd party ones
Thanks for offering though!
I have 1000/1000 internet and I can normally access my server, but a friend who bought the game can’t connect anymore. It works the same the other way around — I can’t join him either. I join, stand on the beach for 3 seconds, and then it kicks me back to the main menu without any message. It’s as if something is wrong with the ports, I’m not sure, because another friend can join me normally and play without getting kicked. At the moment, to play together, we’re forced to buy a server from some hosting because I don’t see any other solution.
Dedicated servers are having issues too
hosting a server thru game just 2 people i can play fine but as soon as my other buddy try to join it crashes me back to main menu
I'm testing one right now and it connected me, I'm waiting for a friend to see if he can get in
the same with us
Sorry, but we're not solveing specific issues here, we're looking for test participants with their own dedicated servers (not 3rd party hosted)
Sorry if it was worded not clear enough
I run a few servers from home. They're running via windows 2022 server behind a FortiGate corporate firewall. This is the only game I can't host due to the lack of dedicated network ports.
I have Spectrum Business internet located in Minnesota, USA. All ISP "security services" are disabled. Using steam CMD
I might have had some not so clear words then either, I am renting the hardware, not the hosting service 🙂
Would you be willing to test our best branch in ~2 hr?
Adding you to the test group thx
Yeah, i can do that. Might have to find some volunteers to join I'm not sure if my crew is available for testing
Adding you then, thanks
Thanks, but you won't be able to test it though nitrado sadly
I am interested in joining for me and my wife to help fix the issue
We are playing on the same network too
Awesome, let me add ay
👍
Awesome, let me add ya
We’ve been experiencing connectivity issues in our setup:
• One player using ISP INEA (behind CGNAT) is unable to connect at all
• The server is hosted on a connection with a static public IP (outside CGNAT) from Netia
• The other two players are on the same local network as the server and can connect without issues
• Co-op group: 3 players total, all located in Poland
We’d be happy to participate in testing the beta patch 👍
also we are gonna play all weekend so we have time for testing
Will you be able to test it today?
if nothing gets in the way irl then yes we will
in fact we will probably do it in an hour or so
just had issues getting a session with just friends and couldnt hold a connection
Just a message from Denmark as well. Me and and buddy tried to join each other and failed. Then a dedicated server, same issue. We load in, connect okay, but then are disconnected within a second. We hear the waves from the beach in the client, then are ejected again.
Will be happy to post further details later on when not playing D&D 🙂
Have seen some issues with our setup hosted on a Proxmox server, hereby our situation:
- Network devices: Full Unifi Hardware.
- Player count: 2 players both in The Netherlands
- Provider: KPN
- Location: The Netherlands, South-Holland
The server seems to be getting less performance when running for a longer time, noticable in the sea animations/stuters:
Hypervisor (VM Host) has 12 CPU cores assigned with 16GB of RAM, running on a AM4 game pc.
We have a self hosted server on our own server rack, Our current ISP is Starlink but we typically host through a VPS for connectivity. This has helped us host private MMO servers and anything behind CGNAT. But this doesn't seem to be important for a P2P platform like Windrose. Our Coop size is 4 players right now with a 5th to be. We're all based in the US.
The main issues we've faced is ping through the roof, even I, in very close proximity to our server am getting around 140-180 ms ping. And across the country, they're getting roughly the same. This shouldn't be the case but has been majorly problematic to the new players for parrying/blocking.
TL;DR:
Bad ping
5 player total
Starlink ISP (CGNAT but connectivity is not a problem. Only ping)
USA
Self hosted on our server rack
We would be MORE than happy to test the patch
I'm self hosting my own docker container on a dedicated server that isn't local.
5 players but desync found after 2 - 3 players on the server.
The host has been given a ceiling of 62 GB of ram.
server specs
- E3-1270v5
- Memory 64GB Ram
I am hosting my own Docker container on VM in Proxmox and started encountering issues with connecting after patch on Friday, what solved it for me is to change hostname from windrose to localhost. I can share my docker-compose.yml or any other useful info. The three os us are playing in this server and are from Poland. My ISP is Orange and my two mates have INEA and they are able to connect without any issues. We spent a little over 30h on the server so far
Server specs:
AMD 3600X
16GB RAM VM
Sorry, but we're not solving specific issues here, we're looking for test participants with their own dedicated servers (not 3rd party hosted), who can test our beta branch today on their own dedi
If you're willing to participate - tag me please
@crisp hornet We're hosting on our own server through unraid. We're playing now and would be happy to test
Awesome, let me add ya
I don't think I can help with a beta test but I do have my logs from both client and server side that I can share, I sent them to Drake also but can share them here also
Self hosted on LAN with R710 poweredge server. one thing of note with mine also, I have to run SDE since my CPU don't support that instruction set
Server specs
System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
System Model: PowerEdge R710
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 6.4.0 (type: BIOS)
Processor: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5620 @ 2.40GHz (16 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Memory: 65536MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 65524MB RAM
@crisp hornet I can run dedicated on linux(debian) or Windows to test. Just let me know. Available to test tomorrow and send feedback and logs. (I'm a developer myself which might make things easier).
Depends on when "tomorrow" happens
Our testing window is probably 5-ish more hours
and then we're done
Okay, I'll try to get things tested within next hour.
Let me add ya then
@crisp hornet tagging incase you missed
I run a community self-hosted dedicated server on Windows, and experienced connectivity issues last night on the server if someone wants to reach out to me.
System Specs:
OS: Windows 11 Pro 25H2
Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor (3.80 GHz)
Memory: 32GB
Region - US Central
Logs available. Experienced an issue where the server lost connection with "...eProxyForSocketSubsystem::PrintInactiveStats [[0x1f0831f05c8]] Delay between datagrams"
• Your connectivity experience - I had none
• Co-op group size/setup - 2-3 players
• ISP used - Vodafone 1Gig connection symmetrical
• Country/region - Czech republic
I used Nitrado but due to some issues I hosted my own dedicated with the save I had. So far no issues but can help anyway if its needed. Running the dedicated on standalone home server with i5-14th gen, 32GB RAM. I will be up for next 4-5 hours - love this game so far, so if anything can be done on my end to improve game experience I will try to assist 🙂
idk why but its stucking in loading screen while connecting... i played demo it was working in demo....
Did the test happen?
Ongoing right now
we have a open issue still unresolved and can help test. https://discord.com/channels/1260209458924224542/1494274247537987647
Added you a role, please go to #🧪│beta-connect-chat
ok. didnt get an invite so was unable to test
I can add you rn, we still have 2-3 hrs to test
@crisp hornet willing to test. But I'm uk so heading to bed in a min
Thanks, we're full for now
Available if another tester is needed.
I have a group willing to test.
- 2-3 players
- Windows server
- US West coast
- One player has some 200 ping making it difficult to do any combat.
I would be willing to participate in the beta patch. I have:
- Windows server (6 Cores AMD EPYC CPU, 24Gb RAM)
- 2-3 other players
- Server is located in Germany
im down to help yall out if need 1 more
Can we get an update to status or any update if it helps servers with connection issues? Missed the test but would like to know for updates to my server since haven't had mine working yet
I think this is where I would post this. I’m using Xfinity internet. And it keeps blocking this from windrose, I host and play with my kids over steam. And get occasional lag, but when it hits it full stops the game for a few secs.
A lot of people participated (myself included). And I cannot speak for the devs, but it seemed to solve a lot of the initial connection issues that I had. And looking at the test chat, there's a lot of happy people, so I think there's reason to be enthusiastic 🙂
The games is running very well for us. I have a Cloud root windows Server with 8cores and 16GB Ram. The CPU is at 15%-20% load. but now when we chop a tree f.e. the wood takes sooo long to drop. sometimes minutes. The boarding battles on a ship are pretty laggy too now und when a friend is teleporting, it somtimes lags for 3sec for everyone on the server. I would be willing to try out new beta patches for the dedicated server
Was it using the direct IP or invite link?
I used the invite link, but the server said "direct ip". I'm afraid I do not know 🙂 There's a steam update and news posted.
Hey! I'm up to play if there's a room 🙂
Have had a Nitrado server since launch that will no longer work. Any fix? Am willing to try whatever.
My friend's Nitrado server is greyed out. I can't select it from the Recently Played section of the Find Servers page.
If it's been switched to direct IP connection, the join code won't work. As I understand it, it's one or the other.
Yes it's one or other
Hey Benjamin, is there some kind of automatic shutdown for the selfhosted dedicated server? Mine went instantly off when the update came out
If yes, is it still on if i switched my server to direct-ip?
Good eveing, just got this running on my home server.
2-4 Players
Linux based server (proxmox -> Ubuntu with Docker and Wine)
Network devices: TPlink switch, Asus router (running openwrt), Frontier provided ONT
ISP: Frontier/Verizon (2 gig fiber)
Location: Continental US
Have had issues connecting to the server since getting it up and running, unsure if the issue is server-side or client side as of yet. Happy to be a guinea pig, completley understand if yall are mainly looking for people using the windows version of the server.
just looked back through the chat and see that its likely done for the time being, happy to help if there's more testing coming, free most of the week from noon to midnight.
did u ever fix the problem ?
We might have few more tests later into the week for our native linux server which we plan to roll out soon, poke me if you want to be added
@verbal wharf
@crisp hornet I am open to help test. i was out this weekend but am available all week and have about 5 players I am currently running with.
Awesome, let me add ya
If you need more people, we have a own server on a Windwos SErver22 Machine static ip, and server player using it. Lag is there for people outside, the one in same house has no lagg. Oh and server Admin was a System Admin in real live
One of the things that helps me in a good way is restart the server every 3 h. Otherwise im struggling
I know we are on beta phase, so ive got faith , we will see 😄
I've encountered this issue, and my friend can't join me
My friend and I would like to test the patch.
I self host and I don't ever disconnect but my two friends do. We are all NA, but have me on east, one on central, and one on west.
My friend was using the Nitrado servers, and he just choosed to upgrade the server ram, but now he is unable to lauch the server for over 30 min, is there a solution to this?
Anyone got a server I can try connecting to? I wanted to see if the latest patch fixed my loading issue
@crisp hornet very interested!
@crisp hornet does that mean steam deck servers or something else either way I'm interested.
I'm not sure why you'd want to host a dedicated server on a steam deck...
Not dedicated the native ones
It's native linux dedi
Oh ok well never mind then i just really want to host mine and my wife server together on steam decks
You can already do normal co-op.
How I have tried everything
Pm me how I believe i tried everything but I guess I haven't done everything
Game runs great on Linux with proton, though I funny have a deck to say how well that hardware runs it. Just launch a co-op session and give your wife the join code. If you want a dedicated server, you'll need another machine to host it.
Oh ok
Which proton version
The first few minutes my session starts it crashes shortly after that
I'm using GE-Proton. 10-32, IIRC.
What does IIRC mean
If I recall correctly.
Okay thanks
I just tested the GE Proton 10-32 and I still crashed out in a few minutes of playing it co-op
Is there anything else I have to do like port forwarding or something
No port forwarding with the invite codes, it uses UPNP. As for crashing, you might want to post in https://discord.com/channels/1260209458924224542/1493364524705775657.
Does it crash when you play solo?
Running out of memory, perhaps?
RAM. You could be getting an OOM kill.
Oom kill?
I just went into the bios and brought the Vram to the lowest it can go so I have 15 GB ram now should that work for co-op now
You're gonna need the VRAM to run the game... This is the biggest problem with the deck. Not enough memory.
Have any non-handheld systems that could run a dedicated server?
I have a laptop but I really love the handheld comfortability and being able to play on the go.
You could have the laptop run the server and you can play on your deck.
I figured it out thanks for everything
From what i expirence with my server, the cpu spikes of the dedicated are very high. And the game needs ram for sure, not as much as the wiki says but 6GB can happen.
Not sure if a Laptop or Steamdeck can handel that
@scenic dagger
anyone had the issue of having a dedicated server via nitrado and not get passed the loading screen when trying to connect?
That's likely a nitrado support issue. Make a post here: https://discord.com/channels/1260209458924224542/1493364524705775657
@quick crown is a thief. do not let him in your world
Is this the correct spot to participate in the playtest and apply for it? I can help either when it comes to dedicated server testing or local.
I see alot of potential in this game and like to contribute to its success 😄
hey i just want to share my issue regarding connectivity issues.
i Host my own server using pelican panel with my home server, but the IP is forward using tailscale to VPS based on Singapore ( so i dont need to manualy open port in my local internet)
• Your connectivity experience (what issues you faced) : averange ping or 200 - 400 to all player
• Co-op group size/setup (if any) : 3 - 5
• ISP used : MyRepublic 300 mbps
• Country/region : Indonesia
having wierd connection issue averaging 200 ping and sometime even go to 400 ping to all player and never lower than 200 ping.
doubt i can do this over the weekend because i got my kid this weekend but after that i can. going to host it on a pc at home
I host from home, however I've yet to have any connection issues. That being said I'm willing to help beta test any patches
Sadly the only way i figured out to fix it was renting a server ( in my case is not a rocket pc but still can play Cyberpunk, Dune or another ones on ULTRA . So yeah, atm the only way is rent a server
my rented server is crashing like crazy due to cpu spikes
Ive ran sever severs at home Mostly run uo Crap but yea i can help ive hosted 3 for this game. it seems that the avg ping is around 200 to 400 m.s
im in cental il.
Friend is trying to connect to my hosted server on HostHavoc, I have no problem connecting, however, he gets booted immediately after connecting.
R5.log
I'm interested in helping, my friend and I can't play on our dedicated server. He keeps getting disconnected as soon as he connected.
region locked ? closed ports? any number of resons.
