RX 7900XTX, 9800X3D, 64GB RAM. Keep receiving the well know and notorious Fatal Errors. Sometimes after an hour, sometimes after 15 mins.
I updated my bios and did a clean install of the latest drivers.
I also tried 60fps and all those things.
Nothing works.

I guess I won’t touch the game until there is a fix for this as my pc is crashing with the game as well.

BUG REPORTING GUIDE

Please share your game logs, game saves, crash dumps, and DxDiag. These are essential for diagnosing and fixing bugs.

HOW TO FIND LOGS

Game logs are located here:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\Logs

Server logs are located here:
R5\Builds\WindowsServer\R5\Saved\Logs

To get there, open Steam, find Windrose in your library, right-click it, then go to Manage → Browse local files. From there, archive the files in the Logs folder and share them with us.

Please name your logs in a way that describes the problem, for example: Crashedwhile_fighting_Dodo.log

HOW TO FIND SAVES

Your saves are located here:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\R5\Saved\SaveProfiles
Please close the game before archiving your saves!

If you are playing on a dedicated server:
• Stop both the client and the dedicated server.
• Find and archive your server logs and world save.

Dedicated server logs are located here:
R5\Saved\Logs

Dedicated server saves are located here:
R5\Saved\SaveProfiles

To get there, open Steam, find Windrose Dedicated Server in your library, right-click it, then go to Manage → Browse local files (or go to the folder where your Windrose Dedicated Server is stored).

Please close the dedicated server before archiving your saves.

HOW TO FIND CRASH DUMPS

If crashes are involved, please share crash dumps:

Game client dumps (if play offline)
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Local\R5\Saved\Crashes
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Local\R5\.sentry-native

Server dumps (if you self-host from game client)
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Windrose\R5\Builds\WindowsServer\R5\.sentry-native
SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Windrose\R5\Builds\WindowsServer\R5\Saved\Crashes

Dedicated server dumps
Windrose Dedicated Server\R5\.sentry-native
Windrose Dedicated Server\R5\Saved\Crashes

HOW TO FIND DXDIAG

Please also include your DxDiag report. This is your PC specifications in .txt format:

• Press Win + R.
• Type dxdiag and press Enter.
• When the tool opens, click Save All Information.
• Save the .txt file and attach it to your report.

Any additional screenshots and/or videos are HIGHLY appreciated!

#

I believe these are the ones created after the crashes

#

Also worth mentioning, I don’t do any overclocks or whatsoever. The only thing I have is the standard amd expo in bios. But not the maximum expo

ionic depot
#

can you plerase send me the entire files please?
and also your dxdiag please

ionic depot
#

thank you very much sir, we will investigate this

fiery flame
#

No probs, thanks for your help mate! 👌🏽

fiery flame
#

I saw a message popping up from ONy but cannot find it back here.. Has a solution been found?

ionic depot
#

Hello @fiery flame , it looks like we are having issues with video cards similar to yours. We are working on adressing this, but it could take some time.

For now the only thing that I can recommend is to set frame limil in game, dsiable framgen, and reduce resolution scale to womewhet around 50%. THere is no guarantee that this will work, just pointing at things that could ease the load on the video card.

fiery flame
#

Alright, yeah I’ll (try to) play on reduced setting until this is sorted out.
I’ll be looking forward to a fix.
Again, thank you for your hard work, it is appreciated!👌🏽

[AMD Radeon] Fatal Error Unreal Engine

red brook
#

Hi, so I've already done all that, disabled DLSS, frame generation, and it's still the same. I'll test it now with the graphics settings at the minimum to see if there's any difference.

My configuration is: RTX 5060, Ryzen 7 9800x3d, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD

red brook
#

So, even with the settings at minimum, without frame rate generation and without DLSS, the game continues to have this fatal error.

ionic depot
#

Can you please start a new thread please and send your dxdiag there?

red brook
#

ok

rigid dove
fiery flame
#

@ionic depot you guys still working on this?

ionic depot
#

Hello! Yes we are but adressing such things could take alot of time unfortuntaely.

Some players reported that previous Stable Version of driver does much better:
AMD Adrenalin 26.1.1 WHQL

#

also could try disabeling post processing in options, seen a few reports taht it also helped some

fiery flame
#

Thanks for your message, appreciate that. Unfortunately those options didn’t work for me. So I’ll be patiently waiting. Thanks for working on it though

real quail
#

I did research on UE on AMD in general and found this solution; uninstall Adrenaline, install ghelper (free open source) and then rollback drivers. Start with the list of versions that g helper provides. I also downloaded the epic games launcher and I didn't do that in isolation, so I don't know if that really did anything, but for a few days now it's been running well at 60 fps on my 7700S

fiery flame
#

Thanks for your message. So basically rollback to older drivers and find a stable one?

#

I just read as well that on the 28th, there will be a new driver update from AMD, maybe that’ll fix stuff

#

Just crazy that this is the only game I ever got any error message in. So it’s definitely partly this game’s problem too

real quail
#

This was my sentiment exactly. What's also odd is that when WR started crashing, then my other UE games started crashing too.

#

That's from ghelper. Their list is usually adjusted to most stable and older, but I installed even older the one in red

fiery flame
fiery flame
real quail
#

Oh I fixed it now. But yeah... I was pretty frustrated cause I had played the demo before and then this release for a day. Then it was gone and I was having withdrawals lol

fiery flame
#

Which GPU do you have and which drivers version are you running at the moment? I’m not that great witch tech, so maybe I’ll just install the same as you have then

real quail
#

It's different than yours so go to AMD drivers and downloads site and look up your GPU, then scroll down and select previous drivers

#

I have AMD Radeon RX 7700S

#

The drivers are in the list in the image I sent. The one in red is the Radeon.

fiery flame
#

Ah I see! Cool, thanks! Appreciate it!

fiery flame
#

Alright, FYI, seems I fixed it by manually tuning my AMD card in Adrenalin software. No crashes anymore. I googled stable settings for my card, applied those and so far so good

#

@ionic depot could you spread the word, this might fix it for high end AMD GPU’s. Apparantly the stock factory settings are unstable for these kind of games

ionic depot
#

this is amazing @fiery flame thank you for your help, do you think you can share guide that you used \ setting that you have applied?

fiery flame
#

Yeah, 0 crashes ever since! Happy with it, finally enjoying this masterpiece of a game

#

Yeah no probs, I’ll post a screenshot of the settings in this chat when I get home

fiery flame
