#Dedicated multiplayer lagging

Hello, anyone noticed dedicated lagging? Its mostly prominent when me and my friend use ships and sail somewhere. Lag almost behaves like rubberbanding where we both "lag" and then our ship is sped up for couple of meters. I am paying for the Nitrado bundle but noticed it also if I self host through dedicated, so does not seem to be resource issue. My friend has decent rig - i7 12th gen, 3070, 32GB RAM (he has ~60 fps). I have i7 14th gen, 5070ti, 64GB RAM and I run the game with frame gen x2 (i have ~130 fps). Not really sure if it can be sync issue or just not yet fully optimized dedicated server app, so I wanted to test my luck here.

@fiery oak Here it is 🙂

#

As I described in other thread - similar issues and my idea was the performance difference in our machines especially when going fast creates desync issue for the server to catch up

#

But not sure if that can be the case

#

Because when I play solo on the same dedicated server, it works just fine without any desync issues

now i see yo uthanks!

So...

We had a meintenance so your Nitrado serve wioll need most likely to be updated

#

can you tell me how many friends are you playing with?

#

also, can you please do the following things for me:
next time you play, can you enable Show game play statistics option in options
And when you encounter this lagging situation take a look at ServerFPS number and make me a screenshot

#

Also to eliminate possible hardware issues, can you try to create a Host on your PC, and try to connect with your friedn and play a little bit on a self hosted server created throug the gaem (not dedicated one)

Your character progress si carried over between worlds, so you should have access to all your ships immideatley, try to sail around with your friend and tell me if it feels laggy to?

#

you have powerful PCs, ther should be no issues on the client side, looks like a server hardware thing, but need to check.

once you can verify that we will try to summon Nitrado people and see if they can help you out

Will do the monitor and hosting through client directly! Updated both server and client now. Not necessarily Nitrado thing, because I tried to self host my own dedicated server on local machine - I have public IP so we tried to play like that but still we encountered same issue. But its matter of convenience to play on Nitrado with 24/7 uptime.

It was still the issue on the server that you self hosted?

#

also felt laggy?

Yes it was the same when I self hosted through dedicated. Will test today in about a hour or so your suggestions, will try to even take a clip of what is happening

for your own dedicated server, you can try increading process priorityu for the server process (but you would need to do this every time you launch it) sometimes windows sets it's priority to Normal instead of High and this could lead to lagginess just as yo udescribed.

#

but let's check the host from game option and see if it workd fine for you

#

if it works fine the it is 95% chance that we are seeing a hardware issue here and Nitrado folks will be able to solve this for you

@fiery oak firstly we tested it on Nitrado after updates. The issue seems to be fixed, even when we did 7v2 naval battle we encountered no desync. So something that was patched along the way resolved this. We even tried own dedicated hosting to see if it was the patch or some magic on side of Nitrado guys. Self hosted dedicated also 0 desync issues encountered.

Thank you again for your fast response and looking into this issue really appreciate it. Here is rum for you to treat yourself Rum_2
