What's the weapon on your back?
Hey, which armour is this?
ohhh nice!!
Conquistador?
can you break the pillar holding up the log without it falling? - thats how i got my lamps to hang up - once the chains touch it they had a place to stay so i could break the pillars under the lamps so they appear to hang from the chain
Feels like conquistador setup. I have a similar helmet but cant remember the red thing
anyone else like to use the flatten tool like me? carve a path right through a hill to make it flat
Yea I used it after building the basement for my house but I cant say that I enjoyed it
it is painful to use wish we could resize the area marker to be bigger or smaller to make stuff go faster
Tbh being able to carve just square minecraft holes would be a big deal
What's this though? Croco trench?
its the path to my dock
Oh wow
this my place looked like up till yesterday
Gonna have to tax the wildlife to keep that going
starting on my dock fort walls and stuff had to flatten the area under the floors a bit
I made a lighthouse with the signal fire! Frigate for scale. I was pleasantly surprised at how tall it would let you go with just wall to ground support. There does appear to be a limit, it being a little more than two bonfire radius' tall.
how do you take screenshots in first person or without your character in the screen
WIP
Best island location, indeed!
I removed the UI with the backslash button, and then went into the build menu, used V for changing the view angle and then swapped to destroy mode so it just had the red x icon.
well even i didnt know that feature
I think making the port a little bendy/curve following the rock formation will looks more natural/immersive, but the house position is best already
waiting for my merchants to come back with more stone
ty for the input! Im planning on connecting the pier the house sits on with a large marketplace/village. I also want to fill the backside under the rock arch with a dock potentially
looks very blocky rn
I was thinking along these lines
Does the river water on the left connect to the ocean?
unfortunately not
i do like the idea of keeping a flowing river in the back, and i was planning to keep water between the house and area im standing, just connect with a bridge and make it less blocky
My lighthouse
Work in progress, still gotta build quarters but you're seeing storage, blacksmith, kitchen, alchemy room, jeweler, and tailor, plus the dock...with the lighthouse in the background with the Frigate, Brig and Ketch docked
WIP, building in this game is so satisfying!
WIP
Nice looking pirate retirement home ๐
Thanks lol
Stage 1 of The Fortress. My thanks to DeLindsay Gaming for his video on Merging Angled Walls and Towers, it was a great help and eased my headaches for how to build it. Love this game.
That crane setup is sick
im not exactly a man of math but shouldnt this just not happen?
Actually just realised I will have to redo the back so it can be unloaded. Lol
My black smith
what yall think? pointy all the way or flat top?
Try snapping it to different edges around that spot, one of them might fit it into the right position.
Or build a stack of walls from the ground up to there to assure yourself a proper snap point.
I see what you mean lol
I like flat top
WIP, storage is complete though ๐
I keep running into dead zones where the flooring won't snap into place (around the edges of my foundation) despite being able to snap into any location around it (including outside the foundation and on different elevations).
The floor placement is being obstructed by the stone blocks. Remove the blocks, place the floors, then replace the blocks.
thoughts/tips?
Well that fixed it, thanks. I'm not sure why it would do that considering this floor began on the same snap point on the other side of the room under the same conditions.
Its slightly common in these kind of tileset building games. Sometimes the tiles angle matters, and rotating it can fix it, but not always.
It mostly only happens when the center of the piece you want to place is obstructed. The edges are fine to clip into things
I have a similar island but enemy boats come in and start shooting my ships.
Having Multiple NPC vendors should really have diff skinned NPCS i know it might not sound like much. but its ruining my market LOL
they should have more voice lines too
cozy village
Welcome to the colosseum, or at least my interpretation of it ๐
that's fun that you have it around a pirate camp
aye, and they still spawn ๐
Is there a creative mode or a way to get infinite resources?
no
Fastest way to get wood is Ficus and for stone is the foothills outside ore deposits I take it?
yea
Thanks
well the framework is pretty much done now i gotta deck it out on the inside
fastest way for me is boarding some cargo ships level10+ and then buying wood and stone from the traders for 250$ / 500 units. usualy i do 2.000 piaster per 20-30 minutes, so enough for 4.000 material
using 4+ traders because of 70 minute delivery
Nah the traders arenโt worth the silver. I got 1k wood and 1k stone in the time it took them to deliver the 500 wood. The only time I use them is for hardwood, animal fat etc
Well they work when you are offline it seems which makes them very worth it.
traders are very worth it lol, silver isnโt hard to get
have you seen my post in here I revealed how the glitch works with chains to have items hang on ?
might aswell ask mods to have the message pinned
to everyone in chat, this is how you "glitch" chains and can hang all decorations and storage items to them @old cypress
furnaces inside the wall for better space
you can hang the furnace too to the chains if you want xD
what is ur chain obsession
โ
cool towers.
Anyone have any examples for building cranes for your docks/dry docks?
Wait, do the furnaces work? Last I tried to integrate them they refused to work til I removed all the intersecting pieces
work in progress but thoughts?
This is awesome
do you mean the pier crane decoration?
Any of you clever types figure out a cool way to make like a ship keel in progress of building so your shallow sections of bases can be filled up, mostly so I stop beaching myself because I made my first base too deep inland
There is a lot to love here
Here's the dry dock Ijust pieced together tonight. No ships in progress but it's relatively accurate to what came up in the Google search for "Age of sail dry dock" images
Oh that's a good start, I guess with the beams you could make a skeleton.
I've been under a real ship in a drydock, and that is very accurate. The chalks are not nearly as thick as you would hope as someone who is weary of several thousand tonnes breaking essentially concrete bags and some wood. Lol
Oh those locals, always up to some crazy stuff
i need 1 million stone
You could always hire folks in lfg to come through and hit all your mines, keeping the copper for themselves and sending you the stone.
Maybe make a quarry like building with a bell for them to drop it off at.
on a solo save?
I assumed you could adjust the settings like valheim so people could join. But I may be wrong.
got the base of the wall around my island i just need tons of stone to build the walls up and highly detail them like the entrance
Looks dope. You could always look for open servers to do loops of stone in their mines so you don't have the cool down. Inventory carries over I think
thanks ill try going to servers and just mine copper caves and drop all the copper
I mean you're a talented builder, making a tiny mining camp in a few of those servers with the copper in some bins could look cooool
love the building in this game be even better if there was even more
closer look for the details in the towers and the bridge
Did you at certain sections put slats in to let the light come through? Top right of your roof looks like that was the trick?
the bridge is made with the pier floor and wooden timber beams nothing else and ye theres gaps at the top to let light through
where do you find servers because i only have access with a code
Oh I figured you did a section of like 4-5 angle slats and then filled in a dozen or so roof before the next slats. Lol
I have no idea. I thought you could join on launch.
oh no haha totally done out of beams only walls are for the plank fence
no servers show unless i enter a invite code
Oh, sorry I figured there would be some open servers but the game might still be too early in it's life to have those.
im gonna try youtube and see if theres any on there
nevermind just realised theres a server promotion in the discord haha
what should i build in the middle here where the water is?
i need to make a market and a kitchen, unsure how to do it whilst utilising the middle
i dont know what youre standing on but you seem like you have space for your kitchen plus a little pub around your pond
build a gazebo over the water and put chairs and tables in the gazebo
build the market along the left side and kitchen on bottom right side and then make like a koi pond or something like that in the middle as a center piece
yeah i considered that, im trying to make it cosey with putting stuff close together but i need to somehow make the middle more open, i want all the walkways similar to this
thinking about having something elevated on a big balcony over the water
Swim up bar!
i'd go for an oasis / park / flower combionation...put a market on the open stone foundations ๐
btw, if you build a wall on your pillar, facing your structures, and you press your back against it, you can make a screen in ego perspective ๐
a swim up bar isnt a good idea with stamina system haha
Nah it just rewards efficient draining of tankards.
if water was a building piece itself i would make a big water fountain
You likely could, you just just need to make a stone base just under the surface so you can place one of the fountain designs on it
i mean a big big fountain like 5x the size of the ones we have
i guess something like this would be nice
ye that was my suggestion
how would i do the roof for that? i hate doing roofs lol
I haven't unlocked any fountains yet, but I'm sure you could make a repeating design of fountains to make it like a Vegas hotel
yeah i'll do some builds and post here see what u guys think
use the clay roofs and overlap the peices to make it round
it's cool you can put light course in the water, makes the plants shine
quick walk around of the in island harbor that is pretty much complete....Bonus : semi perfect parking of the boat boat position on the map on the island!
ship time
big meh
wdym
this haha
ive only been on one world and waited till i got all the building pieces to build a big castle/fortress
hardest part is gathering the million stone i need
so real
i had to gather so much stone for all my foundation on my main world aswell
ill see how big your big is when youve built it haha
nice my walls are expensive to build but theres also everything inside the walls to be built haha thwe houses etc
yea lol, you gonna decorate the entire castle you made?
This ain't worlds adrift lol. But great effort :D
yes torches and everything but that will come last
and when its fully complete im going to do a tour video haha
hell yeah
that would be like 20 minutes long haha
id watch it
may host a server with the save so people can go and see it in game themselves
good idea
but share your build on the rocks when its done or made good progress
oh no doubt thatll happen ill make backups
is there anyway to place trees down anywhere else but the basic ground? i want to add a few to my base but it is raised so i dont have ;;ground''..
not at the moment no
sad ๐
other than raising the ground with a shovel
i hoped you could put them on soil but cannot ๐
idk if this was already known or not, personally haven't seen it in any "tips and tricks" type videos. Anyway, you can double up walls on the inside by shifting 15 degrees out and then back. Will eat up a little space but at least you can make your interior walls different.
just realised the first 3 pics are a bad example because for a moment I thought "stone wall" and "stone wall with timber" had different looks with the stone, but I think the plaster and wood still stands
will it float tho
Sheโl try
Piano
We have done a piano too ๐
Show us! ๐
Have I not worked on it myself ๐คช
Yes
But rather have metal items to use and we dont have it so..
Broski shut da f up, go get ur own builds and pics
Cool can make a train out of wood, but there is so many things I canโt even find a replacement yet.. like smoke pipes for example. If we could rotate all axis, the cannon could be used but we cannot.
Proof ๐๐คฃ
๐
Have you tried using the weathered beams for the metal parts?
Analizing..... hmm your proof is acceptable now run along now little one
Oh, I didn't try anything
I just wanted to see trains :)
Just tried something quick, would be cool to make a train somewhere
if ur soo bored go bother people somewhere else with nonsense instead of claiming other's hard work and build yours
Damn that joke really went over your head ๐คฃ๐คฃ
I feel like this is backwards. I'd use the larger beams as sleepers and a thinner part for the rails
What was the joke?
Don't see it as a joke but yeah ur nonsense goes over my head
Yeah.. i think it gives a lot of difference when u have metal being used along with the wooden railing
I dont remember lol, i just built one
I'm just saying it would be more accurate probs
Thats fair humor is subjective ๐
for sure
thats not humor tho srry, thats brainfog not trying to be rude
Is quite annoying that we only got a vertical chain
Its all good next time it will be better
Looking forward to it ๐
Need some metallic beams.. then train tracks going to look like train tracks.
How about like this?
Is ok, but is all wood
Yeah, i was thinking about a treasury update with silver bars etc maybe that could work
If only you somehow could make a gray top on the railings it will be perfect
I mean is usable. I wouldnโt
So maybe like
Is good design but wooden rails make it less believable, we need metal parts
Yes, if you just get the sides to be wood it would be perfect
No shine ๐๐๐๐
you gotta imagine it
Need shiny rails indeed :p]
Is much imagination by already doing so much from scratch
ya'll need to let your imaginations do some work lol
Wooden rails exist, theyre just not used for anything life-bearing
Honestly i want a functional railing / mining cart set to make a track towards the base
We have lot of imagination dont ya worry bout that ๐
It makes sense to me have that ๐
I like this a lot
Doesnt make sense for me, how rich were these pirates tho how could the make full on rails
Say everyone owning a mansion
I own a cabin
At least I can say, I live in a shack
Also btw about wooden rails. They do exist and are most common inside mines I'd say.
While they have 200m high castle on mountain cliffs with 5 towers and a throne room?
I want railings because is time accurate
we dont need steel structures really. This game is like 16th or 17th century and metal structures would clash with the theme
Why would railing be made of steel
I like trains.... and ships ๐
metal rails were first used 1730 so not that far of?
metal was pretty rare back then to be used for structures, other than nails n stuff
By pirates tho
- is a fictional game give us some freedom, dont have to use em if u dont want to :p give me some metal parts and will build a f-16, not that that fits the theme but I like the possibility ๐
Thats fine, im mostly talking about lore accurate train tracks + they would only be used to short transportation around the islands
Iron railings started on mid 18th. Steel was only used by 19th.
17th used wooden and this were pushed by horses ๐
So do we get to have horses? ๐คช
Nah soon goat whistle, instead of fighting it can be our personal backpack ๐
Yeah I think we can do with just the wooden beams to make tracks for now, theyll look great im sure
Are you talking about pirates or the general population?
If weโre going by timelines this game would have to be early 18th century considering Blackbeard died in 1718
But this is a game with enchanting and weird plague infested swamps due to some aztecan curse or something, I donโt think pirates using metal for silly little rail roads
Is too far fetched
exactly
Thought we covered the mansions and castles.
We did, but im still talking about primarly pirates
I donโt see u calling out all pirates here sharing their estates
๐คทโโ๏ธ
Im not calling out anyone im having a discussion about reasonable pirate behavior?
More like imposing how or what can or not be built
Why would i care what others build? i like every style of building
Im just saying pirates wouldnt waste minerals on long train tracks
U should ask that to yourself ๐
Is called scalling and efficiency
As game progresses trough time and we go from wood to stone structures, would be nice if also our building materials progress/improve from cheap wood to eventually more scarse and metal parts
Ah here we go, the Mahogany Beams make for some good looking rails, but I only have the horizontal ones, Im not sure if there's any angled ones to help fit it up and down terrain
Nice, looks like rusted rails
Still wooden, sure. But the shape is good methinks
I get what you are saying tho, but why would a criminial orginization start making full on train tracks around for scaling
Oh yeah eh, rusted rails! Or like made of copper or brass instead of iron and steel
Ok this one looks believable
this is really nice
Debate settled.
well as i understand it piracy in general came to heel around the 1730-1740 timeframe, esp. around the Bahama/Jamaica region. You would be correct in use of cart and horses. Steam didn't become a thing until late 1700s early 1800s at that it was still experimental. I dunno Im not a history nerd and havent looked this stuff up in long time.
XD
I think youโre sub estimating criminal organizations ๐
You can take Italian Mafia as example
I need more mats ๐
The italian mafia used undercover operations for transportation if you are talking about them using trains
Everything is moved by greed. Do pirates stop?
No. The context was why scaling
You could totally see rails being used in a mining system for an example, going back all the way to 1600's
I have to do more research on it, but as i understood most pirates were broke and mostly stole food and weapons etc, not really anything to scale anything with
Soups up!
But at the point u building a base, uโre organized and have more mouths to feed, no?
I feel being broke and without crew on the beginning of the game
maybe for pushing loads of rock and ore from 1 location to another, it\s all good though, I wouldnt be against the devs implenting iron tracks or rails for the use of whatever cart/buggy system you can come up with hell maybe even make it for ships, Just like when ships are built they have them on tracks and knock out the blocks and the ship slides into the ocean
Yup, but using trains for that would leave them vulnerable to law
You have made a whole settlement, at that point u might as well have legalized your criminal records
๐คฃ
well the great thing is hunger is only a debuff it is not a death sentence
Less train history text. More train track design pics. ๐
Yeah, works irl too xD
Idk how pirates did it with legalization.. i would assume it would be hard to get anyone to agree
only always.
Money laundering
But i dont see much of empire around besides a fallen Tortuga
Still need signed documents to legally do it tho
anyone know a good substitute to colored walls?
Yeah i dont think so either, i think most of them were sloppy tbh
you dont get painted walls in early access yet.
Indeed. ๐
if only they added it, they have painted walls on the houses at tortuga
if it helps i find limestone more "appealing" than plaster, reminds me of a lot of the old buildings in jerusalem
U gotta really just use the different things we have available until we get more options.
Or until someone do mods
Anyone has a loading dock design? im really in need of something
The underside of marble/wood floors is bland. We need old timey stamped copper ceilings. >.>
First 6 days
Now with a minecart
haha ty!! Just prototyping some ideas to inspire all the builders here
Add a loading dock crane somewhere, with the ship wharf nearby
buying materials from merchants takes so long. i hope they can reduce the amount of wait time
there is a mod for it
I really like that. Tho I'll personally go for a more narrow gauge design probably. :3
Plan of mine is/was to use rails on a pier on the harbor suggesting there be rail based methods to transporting goods towards ships
Yeah, i wanted to make a all in one storage and loading dock/ship wharf
I case we really want metal rails:
oh yeah you can for sure change up the track size for whatever suits the build ๐
That is a hilarious amount of anvils.
Oh the anvils!! lol of course!
expezzy to build that though! haha
Is that sunken in stone fences?
Rip ur metal supply but possible
Stone foundation acting like loose stones
Oh. Anvils. Ouchy
We need terrain painting tools clearly :D
we need a terrain smoothing seperate from flatten
-# also the shovel NEEDS a smoothing option and a reset function to fix terrain again...
need free rotate of object along x y and z axis
too hard to make sloped land
Real. My wife basically ruined our whole beach in desperate attempts to fix the transition. A great place for a staircase now ig.
When ur beach becomes a WW1 battlefield :p
same bruh i basically destroyed my beach just trying to make it a little more shallow
Fun fact, monsters spawn on land however they want. My drowned now spawn in still drowning
They do NOT know how to move in water lol
So Clay Walls might actually be the best train track rail for now if you're going for elevation changes, because they have the angled walls:
A bit janky, but thats ok
How does proper plaster look?
good but thicc
I kinda like that aproach, looks like nails aswell
You'd not want nails in these places lmao, but I understand what you mean
Katunk Katunk Klackalackalacka
Oh yeah nvm, the nails are on the side
Plaster tracks
xD
Thicc
try mahogany, it has this cool indent in the middle
tf that was fast lmao
lol I was already doign it XD
great minds think alike
9 more buildings to go, @ruby tree that's for the suggestion with the wall behind me for a first person shot
You win
Btw, how are you meant to use this shingled wall arch piece? It perplexes me
Ahh thats sick dude!!! the two towers thing is awesome, and the town between makes the trip between them interesting.
Great shot!
Thats a great build! keep going!
Thank you! There are still buildings for the other part of the cove, but its coming together nicely, I will be making a youtube video of it as well because the alleyways and all really can't be captured from this angle
We need so many things i lost the count
The little tavern I built:
the studded track?
pier?
Yeah that would probably look perfect
that was one of my first tracks I made but I undid it last week lol
ill rebuild a piece, one min
It would need to be just that bit..
This would be ok too yeah
It looks good for where we might want the tracks integrated into the floors
wasnt that metal
eh nope
Are there angled Mahogany beams?
This can work nicely in the mine itself because is narrow so u can hide the excess u dont need
Yes
Like the nice thin ones?
They have same name, if the thickness is the same im not 100% sure
how did you turn hud off ?
/ ? button, beside right-shift
and press your characters back against a (temporary) wall to put it in 1st person view
Ghost Mode: Enabled
the first person mod now also has a toggle option to switch between camera modes
work in proress
thank you omg so simple ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
i was putting my back against wall before but with out inv looks way better ty
this compared to that ๐ ๐
finally it takes shape
Ohhh this... thing!! We can use it as a cart wheel
first full room ive done
yeah the screenshot looks better eh
Can i see that staircase from the front?
Is that the brick roof?
Btw quick tip for making easy snapping points for anyone curios
there you go
tiles
Yeah tiles sorry, that looks so clean
Made my Custom Bookshelf, what do you guys think?
Pirates.... readinggg????
No ship in a bottle, but not bad at all.
another one more simple
yeah, didnt finish that quest on this char yet because my friend isnt ready yet
im starting on my new main base now.
When you guys start a build, what do you build first and why?
Bonfire and camp for respawning :p
Layout
would you start with the docks or the city/towns layout first?
because i feel like the docks needs to be perfectly places and that the city center follows those lines
i usually start with foundation and layout of buildings
Layout. I didnโt brought the stone yet so just added things using platforms.
It gives u notion of usage of space
๐คทโโ๏ธ it doesnโt really matter how u do it
smart
So about first time for me to be creative in regards to upgrading myself out of the plaster and getting my first base out of finely shaped boxes.. But amongst the first little techies I walked myself into comes to building second floor and it's wall material.. Should I stick to the plankish look on the left for that worn look, or use that mossy fresh log on the right side?
my new home
mossy looks nice! Gives it more character i think
Thought i'd try something different so thanks
Also loving the shape of the isle, good luck with figuring the location for your pier.
thanks!
/
I don't know what others use, but I've gone with using what I usually do.. Most if not all of my settings are on Epic, and I use Win+Shift+S to clip the view I want to give.
On US keyboards the / key hides the UI, so you don't see the hotbar and hunger anymore.
But I dunno how to do it on international boards.
I usually just use Print Screen for my shots, instead of win+shift+s, but that just grabs the whole screen.
If you have Steam, and have it enabled in steam, F12 would save a copy of the screenshot.... somewhere in Steam.
jaa habs schon
in response, you can also do alt+Print screen (Helps you to take up just the game screen, not all of them if you're running multi-screen setups)
The moment the ship is summoned and perfectly alligns with your dock
Some interiors
dident they add this? ๐ for us non US keyboard users, iv not tested myself as iv had issues since 30th with my pc ๐ข
so iv not had time to game yet since.
Or am i mistaking hud toggle for hide ui?
but yeah alt+prnt screen for multi monitor users (to only capture current screen) and you can paste/ctrl-V into discord
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3041230/view/658231077844812086?l=english
This is where I am building my city base as well. I put bonfires on either side of the mouth of the bay and am working on lighthouses/lookout towers there.
I am making a shantytown along a set of rickety docks and up along the cliffs on the southern inner side.
Under menus section in the choice of keyboard/mouse
but wasn't quite biased to try until I have something neater to show.
yeah that button for me in on a weird "multi kind of key" so i could never hide mine ๐คฃ
idea for if you run into a boar spawn: build around it and make it a 'farm'
i did that with my early starter base ๐คฃ
did you experience any issues with doing it?
nice. its decided then. farm it is
i think iv seen someone building to close to say a dodo egg spot and had some planted trees despawn for example
but if thats a "bug" they fixed or not i do not know ๐
Also yeah.. think I posted this before but my neater contraptions in my original buildup on my first place..
The great wall of shame.
wall of shame? heh should see my boxes of shame in my temp "start of new base" ๐คฃ
We all know what that name implies..
It looks nice but it's chaotic as freck.
Love it, tho
The best feeling really, when it perfectly aligns
Alongside the usual shenanigans of ''Does wood actually grow back'' experiments.
our fleet is being prepared
used that in the demo in my tavern also .. looks very nice
Actually it would be really cool to add to the game an item to just click and summon a the ship to a specified position, you could build it in you dock and it would always be summoned in the position you specify
A fixed location spawner would be kewls yup
How did i miss the room dividers??? ๐คฏ๐คฏ are they new?
Yes I would love that truthfully, I adore my dock but the ship moving around is something else
found this one from the demo with them in the background .. mahogany is such an upgrade!
I build this starter house using only the iems from the 1st island, i haven't travelled on my boat yet this is my 1st build, i have a build video to go with it if you want to check out how to do it https://youtu.be/xPRXE6LcBmk?si=26qct7tIk4vQyEFZ
๐Video information๐
Windrose series part 4
To i will be showing you how i build the perfect starter house without leaving the first island, this is a cozy spacious house with all the essentials only using items from the 1st island. Complete starter house.
Check out this playlist: Windrose https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxmZEKaQcYu...
mt bedroom so far
Cosy Inn
just about finished
Decided to add little marketcorner
all 3 ships full with materials included my own inventory
Nothing to do with the building i'm doing.. but decided to make the ranking system on how hard each trophy is to get.. in my mind i'm pretty accurate.
Also i place a wall behind me so the char is invisible. Sitting on ship and doing outside view is doing wonders too
thanks
Squint. No wolf trophy?
the outside , with market place
Actually I haven't unlocked the 3rd region yet but I stumbled on an island and decided to explore, I already got a croc head, now I just need to complete the challenge and kill the 2nd region boss, I found the dodoo one harder to get ๐
That one was on it's own category for being as ruffy as it was, right next to the daggers
those two deserved class of it's own.
The boars and dodos are just everywhere.. Goats are annoying, Wolves even more so, Croc hangs there (still working on the statue hunt..) and the crab is just something you don't really go looking for
They are I just got really unlucky and had to kill over 60 dodos to get the head
Maybe add some decor above the door?
Extend the roof out an extra half tile over the door, I guess. There's some light peeking out between the wall and the roof.
I'd suggest a wood cross over the door if it's going to be a church.
Or a lantern, if it isn't going to be a church.
I feel we have most of the parts to recreate this $17m house, but it would take a far steadier hand than mine.
this looks kinda easy to recreate tbh
we dont have tree decoration
Can plant a regular Palm Seed for the center one. We don't have evergreen ones four the outskirts, true. But we could use lime or bananna on the outter stretch.
Slowly coming along..
I love this island! ๐ ๐
Started framing and made the harbour master to have somewhere to work out from.
Plan forward is:
- Frame and connect the harbour and island
- Frame the wavebreakers
- Frame the hill cannon positions/fortress
- Frame the main house
- Frame and make a production/furnace area
- Bridge between main island and fortress hills
- Bridge between main island and ship builder
does anyone have a good island for making a sea base? i need some inspiratioin
Are we talking something like the villa of Tortuga or some kind of ''Small isle, big fortress'' type?
The one that people build castles along the ridge of is kinda perfect for a sea base
think of the sea forts in Sea of Thieves
My main base/Fort
guess i better get sailing. that does look like a good spot
There is definetly lot of isles to go through, good luck in finding your salty home.
keep in mind materials.
So atleast bring bells and wood with you so you can place a fasttravel if you find your island
True, I'll add thing in the evening, but this I think is an optimal start for my spanish/english area
Can someone help me out?
If i knock down trees and place a house where the tree used to be, will it spawn back?
Likely not (yet)
you're able to find wood seeds though, if you want to add trees back.
what if you plant a seedling and then build over it
normal trees don't respawn you're good
aslong as the living condition of the sapling is not negated, it should.
thanks
The plant will grow up through the block you placed over it, but collision will be VERY WONKY.
If you walk up to the tree, you will occasionally be thrown into low earth orbit.

This chat has so many good ideas but really shows me how much i lack creativity in this game ๐๐
I know the feeling
just let it happen
the world is your oyster, you can either shoot it open or try nicely wiggle it.. When the deco hits you.. it really hits you.
I thought i was doing well then joined here๐ some really good ideas lol
A lot of it boils down to simply not using the same material five or six times in a row. A break, a pillar, a window, anything other than being an identical flat surface across an entire wall. :p
learning new shapes and way to combine the parts we have is also important
Solid advice. Makes sense!
This is cool as hell!
My place looks like a warehouse ๐
i havent gotten time to commit to building a real base yet ive been working alot
just lerning the methods atm
Still waiting on text signs and colored signs/banners. >.>
And paint. Like that one house in Tortuga that is blue. >.>
Thank you!
You helped me figure out the 'glass' top part of my lighthouse
what build set are the windows from? I dont have theeeeeeeem... ๐
im not gonna lie, im not sure there stone and stained glass
i have quite a few and there all really nice
just have these
naw theres like 8 more
i tried posting a link to there own website
they have a online catalog of all the build parts
out here building my lighthouse when this guy just absolutely slaaams into the reef ๐ ๐
reminded me of the radio conversation between a US warship and a lighthouse debating who was going to move out of the way ๐
The number of bonfires at our base is increasing.
The ones he used are the middle one in your botton row
i thought so too, but it isnt
Its not? ๐ค
I think it is because the top blue one are the middle ones from the row above it
They are all single block windows
does anyone have the shape of that god tier island for base building?
The one from earlier? the small one?
yeah
one of these for me. unsure which one tho.
There is iterations (small differences) from player to player, but it should look somewhat like that
is it the bottom one?
i think top left one. because it has a small island on the side of it with just some trees.
does it spawn in a particular biome any? i know it can't be swamp
i would guess foothills
maybe even the first area
its here for me
dug out a part of the land to use as a hidden entrance/exit to the main house.
going to put in trees later to hide it and blend it in
i need some help. my roof construction has gone over the budged and im missing pices to finish it. are there any like triangular roof pices i can get the plans for somewhere?
can't you just add a supporting beam somewhere? or have you reached building limit?
the building is all green but my roblem is i cant find any way to make the roof complete without it looking EXTREMLY yankey. im getting a headache trying man
is this what it looks like untouched? i don't think i've got the right place
looks like the right place
it's a great island but not quite what i had in mind. thanks for helping me find it
does the island always come in this cluster with the small islands surrounding it and the bigger island on the same tile?
Yo this is fire ๐ฅ
angles of that tower looks sweet!
mine looks like this
A shrine to worthy opponents
curtains bring so much life into a room its insane
facts
The biggest creative challenge atm is filling the dead space on walls, curtains are mandatory lmao
nice dining room!
Not small but not too big either
I opted for a garden in front because I couldn't find anything else that didn't look bland lmao
pillars is a nice wall decor to make it pop more.
example
1 pillar down from the top of the wall each tile along the roof
then a side pillar to connect all of them forming a square
New Abbernathy is evergrowing... found out that campfires have a height limit, halfway up those wraparound stairs at the top of the tower.
or like lockewood did to his wall on the tower
Ayyooo i want that island
So many ideas
I'm really enjoying the creative the building this game lets you be. This is my freshly built, shanty pot room. Complete with it's very own poop knife.
Haha, I made a 2 room outhouse with a makeshift seat over a hole in the floor, out on the pier over the water! I love your idea!
ah man I have my ppl crappin in a hole into the sea lmao
Deffo stealing the idea
here's some of my fun building ๐
Absolutely incredible! I'm loving that silhouette of the manor in the fog!
thank You :3
dang i think i just got a bad roll of that island
i can't take my eyes from it ๐ค
That's a lot of detail, any fps issues with all of that?
i think youre at the wrong one to be honest...
How did you make the windows like that?
it was. i was just stupid.
He combined the big one and then the small on top of that
isnt it just this window with curtains over them
i just noticed the raised flooring around the firepit! epic!
Grat โ๏ธ
like what?
actually I just added beams around stone flooring ๐
You mean like this?

bit of farm here and there ๐
Oh thats why, clever design ๐
btw. what is the highest comfort number we have here?
Like in real life i like something that is almost not possible with floors, but as aswell as always i manage to do it somehow. Made an traditional parket floor with boorder. Quite tricky to get the gaps fixed but as you can see it worked out fine. Hope you like it.
some of the work in progress of the house with th eparket
its not finished but can anyone guess what this house is form
how do you move the camera like that. is it in the game or is that a mod or something
Great sense of engineering and architecture, man. What were your sources for inspiration, particularly for the shipyard?
photomode - mod ๐
love it when you remove the scaffoldings for easy access and then see that the roof is off ๐
oh okey thanks from Nexus right?
nexus or cursed forge i use both sites
search Photo Mode is the exact name.
it works great for all those cool screenshots, and base tours ๐ฏ
yeah exactly i needed that mod for the game
without the mod - best is pressing the / key - to hide the hud.
you can nuy it i think
When I was building the shipyard, I looked at sketches of 18th-century English shipyards, and then I just went with my gut feeling.
A little bit of our base
progress! ๐
looks fancy
This is very nice
I think i went a little extreme on this pattern on the front wall, Wasn't the easiest to replicate on the other side ๐คฃ rip
i hope we one day get the small clay tiles that we see at the People of Tortuga Base
they look so nice
i wish they make so we can make blueprints of patterns of for example walls and then copy paste them when building ๐
lowkey, I believe modders are working on "playermade Prefabs" already
though obviously some vanilla way of doing it would be preferred
i need signs that i can write on
Yeah like satisfactory have it's blue print box ( if anyone have played that) would be so nice ( and time saving )
i'm new to this
Curious, do y'all harvest all these materials or what? how do you get all the materials for these buildings.
Harvesting and bulk buys through merchants for me
It's the most time efficent to just blow up blackbeard's ships and spend the silver on orders.
Some people have five or six merchants all queued up with stone.
yeah - I use merchants for anything I can get from them so as to limit my hand-farming to only things that actually require it.
mostly collection, but some specific things like Clay I just order since the deposits for it are so small
Little shipwreck tavern
your gonna go far esp if u new grats homie you did well
buy the mats in bulk from several vendors
Roach?
with a lot of work....
does anyone have a cool design for a merchant i want it to be like a stand for a market
its simple, but just throwing the Pier Canopy over the Merchant Table goes a long way imo
thats to simple, and the canopy is to small for my liking
reforging shop/wood working
anyone have a good starter layout of a mansion, or castel, i kinda could copy? i need some brain storming ๐
I also in-set my Furnaces - shame I hardly use them now that I have the Large Smelter ๐
this is so cool !!
i in-set the larges as well but i agree i only use the 2 lol
Kinda forgor myself when I was trying to make fireplace look nicer
Column A Column B. I spend a lot of time mining so I get stone. I have a field of ficus trees and bushes for passive wood and fiber. Then I use blackbeard and his silver to buy hardwood from my merchants.
I'm currently helping my 4 friends with supplies for their frigates using the same methods
digging ||what I can only assume are|| the multiple bonfires/bases spread across the island - really gives the impression that folks live there ๐
what armor is that in the 1st pic
sunset at the coastal fort
I used AI to generate an image of 17th-century London; now, I am building it.
Its full set pikeman
Off to cause some annoyance
has anyone had luck building a cellar yet?
I have wit limits ๐
Blackwater Tradings Cafe. Still working on it.
building a wall, would Donald Trump approve?
MY little sauna
dunno if anyone has done a vineyard yet, or is hoping to - but it looks like your wishes may be answered:
-# going through every public scrap of info I can find on Ashlands, saw this
Yeah, there's a lot of datamined stuff, including the fabled Pineapple. And Bromliad seeds. And gems and other fun things. But we'll have to wait till Ashlands hits to see it. Oh, and purple fabric that looks like it'll need plague wood dust. >.>
A few fishermenโs huts under construction in my harbor area
this is insane
Lower harbor district
This is amazing. Looks very very ambient
Thank you!
I am trying something similar but turned out to be too linear. Thats a mistake i just now understand
Looks like all your buildings are not in the same direction and that is what makes it stand out a lot
Everything's a bit too symmetrical
Yes, they're all angled differently. I just tried to adapt to the terrain and gradually build up the slope. Still gotta find a better spot from where I can capture the whole thing. ๐
You have talent
Still, I think it looks pretty!
And i realized i want to break down everything i built after seeing yours ๐
Noo don't do such thing! Just keep on building, add stuff and buildings and see where it goes. ๐โโ๏ธ
Feels a bit too basic right now
I have a feeling that my campfire is too small. All cities in this creative chat look bigger than what i am trying to squish into mine
But it might be the issue of placement
Currently I'm using the mod that extends the bonfire range to 3x
Before that I used 3 bonfires
Oh, okay. Never thought of that.
Other people're using multiple ca... yeah that.
One of the circle island cities had something like eight campfires going.
Are you expecting a landing craft like in Normandy in 1944?
Ah you know... a fort with a handful of cannons can never hurt when it comes to feeling safer. ๐คญ
Just spotted some of this on the right
Oh you mean that! Yeah well, no this was just kind of a placeholder instead of just having an empty beachside there.
You can try to make some boats upside down
finally found it
donut !
hello everyone this is my build i have been working on
Wish there were creative servers. Like, where you dont have resource limits and just build with random people on random islands
Mine connect on the left sadly but i dug it out to look like yours
Played with friends, they finished their PVE content and left, and im solo-building a sad village now alone ๐
I really wish that Island had POI's including a Mine because I'd love to make that my permanent base. Sadly on my world it's barren, not a single POI.
ahoy there Captains ๐ the first thing I have to say is that words are too small to describe what you have built. Everything is beautiful, great job everobody. I admire your imagination and building skills and I admit that some of them have been my inspiration for the construction so far, and some I will steal for later ๐
here are a few of my buildings must say pale compared to yours but it is what it is and here is whats done so far ๐
Doing a good job, fellow pirate!
So jealous I am lvl 6 but still have mostly basic build stuff
thank you good sir you are very kind ๐
Agree with you love to build just cannot find all the stuff
I like seeing what other people build and showcasing sometimes too. Probably need to find a group for this kind of activity.
How the foundation walls for my fortress started vs what I'm slowly making them into.
palm seeds are more rare than gold in this game. i chop of the entire island and how many seeds nada zero zip nothing. i think we need black market for them ๐
the bigger ones located more far from the sea is easyer to find, but not 100% chance
ficus is harder
wish we could just buy em
in my case i have more ficus seeds than palm
last one
your bonfire vaguely looks like a half built statue of liberty
anyone have any good ideas for the top of the wall
base tour !!!! what yall think
dude thats dope
POI's would be cool
cheers
put like look out towers every so often
it will be apart of a bigger build i just need the top sorted
i think to the right and left of the gate if u built towers straight up it would look fire
You see those gaps in the roof tiles in your circular structures? You can use the pediments to shore those up and make them look a little tighter so thereโs less space
ill try
Looking FANTASTIC tho
whats the big picture
u able to join a vc it will be easier to explain
sure
Good lord thatโs beautiful
Can always try some roofing on a few sections.
Buy where? I bought everything and explored everywhere
Im guessing i just overlooked it
this is cute! also, what hat are you wearing?
i
how do yall manage super smooth round walls like this
1 tic at a time
yes or start with a frame of beams
not as smooth
Uh, I just found an "old" screenshot of my base and had to repose to recreate that shot with the extended version.
Old
current
I'm thinking of trying to make a decently accurate recreation of the Roman colosseum...
The pillars for some roman architecture are definetly there
Look at this delicious layout ๐ฅฒ
Think I'll just build some fisheries in the northern gulf...otherwise it is useless as far as I can see
"We should create a secret order of masons and build us a hideout in the caribbean sea."
"Yeah, but somehow random dudes should know where to find our treasures."
"What?"
Thats a trap ive gone into earlier aswell and something im trying to change on my current build
If I would raid that's the first place I would go into xD
Folks, I just want to ask you purely for information. I see mods are mentioned, I've seen some have a problem with the game when they install them. do you use any of them and what are your experiences. if I would put some mods, it would be for fast tavel bells, the limit of 10 does not please me ๐ and maybe for respawn fiber and if there is one for seeds. this one specialy
Can we please get triangle pieces that actually fit the triangular spaces? Thanks! ๐
WIP Dockhouse so far
those aren't triangular spaces
i used them for dynamic windows
The latest improvements to Fort Hope
That looks really cool
The Caribbean deserves a bass pro shop
something a fresh water fisherman would say
bass pro shops are mostly freshwater fishing
doing a little testing of basements. they have some issues.
I started to but work got busy. I'm at a creative block
Needs an isosceles right triangle
First vs second base
All build cred to my Hubs, he just asked where I wanted things placed lol
It would be awesome to have more paint schemes.
I built my own crane ๐
Thatโs actually pretty impressive, a lot better than the one they gave usโฆ ๐
thanks mate!
getting close to finishing the small coastal fort
any shipwreck cove builds?
One of those cartoony skull coves would probably be perfect for that island
in progress
So many amazing builds. I shall have to steal concepts to add to my own eventually
The Church
Youโre a pirate, stealing is a natural thing to do.
I saw one the other day which was pretty good. Dont think it was beach side though.
this one is pretty good
Obรฉlix descend , il y a du monde qui nous attend ๐ .

My WIP (sorry if the frame rate dips my pc isnt the best)
Some people had asked questions on the reddit about building height and stability for very tall structures and so I made a quick and not so great video explaining build height better for those that are interested.
Another building and attached bonfire sit down place. This Building is the Officers Chow hall and Barracks bottom story.
anyone know if the second set of books, wall paintings, and rugs not in the game? i've cleared all pois and still cant find then. done a decent bit of sailing and the only two new islands ive found all day have not had pois on them (all quests done except fate of prophets)
I got the paintings in the swamps
there are only 3 rugs and 6 or 5 paintings in the game as far as i know (ive maxed and bought out all vendors and done all quests)
okay thanks
online its showing twice as many books, rugs, and paintings than ive unlocked
and ive also finished everything
what do yall think i could fill the empy wall space with? ignore lack of clutter everywhere else in room
i dont have swamp done btw
My game crashed and now my save wont load. My town is gone ๐ญ
a bit of progress on my port town
still needs a lot of work though
@pine wadi @tough hull got a good start on the dock for my Flag ship. Thanks for the insperation KYPBJ!
this was before i added the dock
looks good!! excited to see it come together ๐
Figured out how to get your save to load after a crash. Load another world first then back to menu abd reload to the save you want. Weird but it works for now
Eh nvm. Crashes everytime I fast travel. Save is messed up. Coool guess ill uninstall this for a year. Lol
found me an island near the middle and made it my home, the house build took a few hours
its not gone, its likely in a save file
Yeah, but its too far in. Probably need a restart.
No i know. Just defeated been fighting it for a few hours and cant get it to work.
quick question, what does the signal fires do?
emit a glow that can be seen from very far away. great for lighthouses
coolio, thanks
looks like the hoover dam
Me and @tiny iris just made a little kitchen to test out making a sink and it turned out amazing got to move it inside now lol. give us a 1 out of 10 rating on it!!
10/10
finally got a tavern up and running
found some issues. needs a peak and peek wall.
There is a peak piece that will fit that perfectly, dont remember which set its in.
primary base close to being finished.
Is there a way to build pillars to the ground level above water after I reach the zoop limit range?
been playing for only a few days so far and I love the building in this game!
my favorite build so far is 100% this tavern I've made. still working on other builds though :3
grian ahh build
found em. cheers bro.
Building my own city ๐
You can get wall art?!
dude that looks sick
Thanks!
Looks even better now too!
I added these little arches to the sides of the wall so its not so flat and repetitive.
Added in some crates and barrels underneath.
Keep me updated on your builds too!
Underground/underwater large smelting/charcoal bunker. Covered the top with Fountains!
posted some work earlier but made some changes to my little smithy
forge is unfortunately not functional due to the proximity of the roof lol. this is the back side of it
I wish they would change that or give us some work around for that
Hanging Gardens work in progress (very tricky)
i got the kiln to work, but I just think the forge needs to be placed the same way, I may kill it and push it outside a bit more and see if that works.
...I figured out a workaround for my underwater smelting bunker ๐
my crowning achievement tonight is my unfinished bar... managed to make a hearth without clipping lol
Nice! Btw what you unlocked any new building peaces? I highly recommend getting them if you havnt, gives you a lot more to work with!
starving for guineas lol, been building so much the last few days I haven't been questing or farming much
Heard that...never thought I'd run out of clay but I'm obsessed with the Cornice piece now and it's integral to everything I build so looks like clay is on the horizon!!
Trรจs jolie base
Those canopy beds are next level!!
agreed, I legit said "wow" outloud lol
Thanks, bro! My girlfriend did it. I'm getting resources and she is building.
work in progress
Added a little castle manor to the river town:
straight outa game of thrones, right on brother
Thanks makes all the hours of stone harvesting worth it haha
Why you all have your fancy building which is nice, hereโs my humble shanty town.
Looks perfect
Itโs a peaceful place.
cozy nice retirement beach
๐ช
tiny homes in the age of piracy? times must be tough
my fortress a work in progress
Badunts
What did devs did to game that I donโt have backpack expansions anymore? ๐ฉ
Wasnt triangles on the same color of the body or was the change a deliberate decision?
ah what? lol
Your watch has a difference face than the rest of the tower
Uโve used plaster instead of stone
Ants !
very flat ants ๐
very nice .. now seen that, i have to redo my temu watch ๐
How did it end up going?
lovely chamber pot, no notes
that is an awesome clock where did you get it? is it a mod?
oh nm i see what you did. thats rad
haha no mods for me in windrose
for me its testing all day .. windows unsnapped and their structure on plain wals ..
and unsnapped wall stone sunken into large wall stones to get more "3d" out of that wall .. could be looking nice on a stonebuilding
windowborders that may work as timbering and replace beams
Anyone have a "small" tavern design that could fit here? ive tried 5 different buildings but it just looks odd in that space, or something else completly that could fit there
Consider a blacksmithing shop. It's compact and open air and probably complements a rock wall well
I assume your talking about the back wall on the upper level, thats a great idea
Yeah, next to your bonfire. Did you mean somewhere else? ๐
Yeah on the level below, the "entrance area" or something xD
I wouldn't mind coming over to help build something, unless you rly want it as a solo build
Im more of a solo player tbh, im not really easy to work with as i struggle to put into words what im trying to make xD
All good brother
Sorry i just got attacked by 5 ships, but if you have any pictures or something i could take inspiration from i would really appreciate it.. im struggling to find a good material combo for my houses, i tend to just keep creating valheim builds and im trying to improve my building style
Uhhh I don't really have any reference images. I can just kinda see the rough idea in my head and work on the details as I go haha
I built a manor recently (need to decorate the interior) but I did like a 3 story stained-glass gallery window and big pillars to keep the space open using an obscene amount of triangle floor pieces so i didn't have ugly beams running across the bottom of my floor lol
Lots of plaster/mahogany/tile roofing as is found in the spanish carribean set
You made the inside roof of triangle floors?
