one thing id like to see a game do, which i dont think ive seen before, is have tables/desks that are built by players allow players to sit at them, like maybe you press E on the table and then it prompts you to choose a nearby chair, and if there is a chair that qualifies your character drags it over and sits at the table properly, then puts the chair back when you get up.

With how this game locks you into animations when you sit/sleep, it might be a good candidate for this game.

You HAVE to use ONE set of honestly mid armor to get stagger resist, but every other enemy in the game cant be staggered out of an attack. its a huge hypocrisy of enemy priviledge that outside of wearing one armor set, players dont benefit from stance the same way enemies do. The game wants you to be aggressive, to trade hits. Thats what contested health (temporal health in this case) is intended to do. But the games entire combat loop is more hit, hit, backstep, wait for enemy to stop, hit hit backstep. Theres very little incentive to trade, even with big tanky builds, because trading breaks posture

I use a halberd, no temporal. So I heavy attack, walk few steps, heavy, walk a few steps heavy, they never do hitting animation whats so ever since they never get the chance as their attack never initiated. Youll get the random heavy attack that you shouldn't get touched by. In my opinion they made it too basic

Parrying is objectively better than dodging because you reduce the posture points of your enemies and get them staggered. 2) that's why I said for me personally, I don't hate the halberds I am just not gonna use them vs bosses

Both mechanics are viable, it depends what you like. I am trying the maces on my 3rd playthrough now and got the mace with increased posture point and put the talent to reduce the posture points you lose when blocking and I just block and swing away

advice that helped me was to go into the fight with no buffs and no inventory, and just practice with the expectation of death. Do this over and over as you learn his attack patterns and how to block/dodge, and when you can eventually stay alive for at least half the fight with no buffs, try again using what you learned WITH buffs and theres a good chance that will let you beat him.

Also make sure you have fully upgraded all your weapons and armor to level 5 as it makes a huge difference if they are lower.
