I can propose a compromise when you sink a ship to gain wooden/metal and fabric materials from the shipwreck along with the usual kits and sigils? I think it's a good one

for boarding when you are early-midgame, u basically have more crew than the enemies kills by a lot
and u can shoot enemies in the head to soften up for ur crew
but when ur lvl 10+, ur so morbidly op, u can take the 30 goon on by yourself with all the plague stuff

idk abt make ship penalty overly annoying, but i think it should be a given that IF your ship dies, you atleast have to get the cargo back from where it dies. not respawn it for some boards at your wharf and its all back. atleast this

thats what I mean, when your ship gets sunk, it loses its cargo and it floats there like your stuff when you die. this happens right now in game.

so instead of the penalty for failed boarding being just you die, your ship dies, so you gotta repair it. and now its cargo is floating where you died.

well in most pirate games you can steal a ship and sell it at a pirate dock. for cash, or just crew it yourself. but the only way to steal a ship is by boarding action and killing the crew.

The things i'd agree to see implemented to make it more "interesting" are :
-Unlocking blueprints for bigger ships with a mission to steal either the blueprint or the ship itself once per character.
-Gaining extra resources like wood/metal/fabric from sinking enemy ships
-inviting faction representatives to your base to make the selling of currency items less .... annoying
-make sigils convertible into currency after you max out the rep
-add bounty missions to claim or clear out Blackbeard influence from certain locations to gain more currency or special items

Raft -> Boat -> Cutter -> Ketch -> Brig -> Frigate -> Galleon and Battleship (Man o War)

There was a mechanic in PoE where you bartered materials to get currency back with a shipping mechanic where the ships could get raided and held for ransom and I think it can be implemented into a windrose vendor where you ship materials to different factions for a different price and if the shipment is expensive the risk of it getting raided would increase and you have to get ur boat and go reclaim it

You could also hire mercs to defend the shipment

Some of the plagued enemies just need a straight nerf, this including blocking ranged spears with you sword shouldn't cause any damage on normal mode, plague witches only having one totem and the totems should disappear when she's killed and also the attack patterns should be fixed to be more consistent so it'd be easier to fight against them systematically. All of these random attacks and stuns are very frustrating as a solo player. (and no, pig doesnt count he's too weak for lvl 15 enemies) Just my two cents on Mire.

You can dodge most of the attacks. Witches and all of them have a pattern, quite easy in fact since it's just one or two hit combo with a VERY telegraphed opening. Hunters are a bit boring because they hit harder than other and fast in close combat and with quite some range at distances but they're paper made

there's been numerous folks that have tested on their respective comps and servers - it is fixed
and even if it wasnt, the reporting was blown out of proportion - the writing that was occuring was comprable to other similar titles like Enshrouded and would only matter if you had an SSD that was 10+yr old anyway - and even THEN all it would do is mean your drive might die a month sooner than it otherwise would have

I'd recommend moving the shovel to your inventory and putting the whistle into your hotbar instead - you'll likely be summoning Truffles far more often than you'll be needing the shovel, plus odds are you wont need to "quickdraw" the shovel anyway

Problem with fast travel being only on coast is it forces you to make a base at the coast, leaving a lot to be desired with mainland bases, maybe signal fires allow for mainland fast travel and keep the limit so it's not overpowered?

Mostly the plague enemies. Hunters feel like they autolock half the time, witches totoms are a pain and just getting all the quagmire powder needed to upgrade all you need to is a slog

When i just head to the temples it feels like it's a constant slog. Like a warrior, a witch, 2 hunters and 2 thralls all at one entrice. I was screwed even with lvl 15 gear

Design it in a way that allows the pvp zone to be a shortcut, but a longer safer pve route around it, it would mean players you fight can carry loot
