iv set up a dedicated server that me and my friend are using , when i logged off i kicked him out the game and he couldn't join untill i was back on line running the windrose dedicated server . (Why run a dedicated server?
A dedicated server lets you have a world that’s always running. You and your friends can join anytime — no need for the host to be online. Great for co-op when schedules don’t match, like building ships alone then sailing together later.) this is a snipet from the dedicated server guide that says he can join even when im not on line but he cant untill iv got it running on my pc . and help would be much appreciated

@thorny lodge Most of Tortuga was wiped out by the undead. A small section is outside the shield with all faction reps (but not cargo buyers), and the "People of Tortuga" are on another island that they fled to.

I really hope in the future the game gives us the option to just replace walls or "upgrade" them like 7 days to die does, because currently I wanna delve into the new materials and pieces more, but I have this thing built and all my stuff is here. Once you hit lvl 15 on your ship equipment stretch the supply kinda becomes inert. I'd stick with silence the guns. The debuff pays off more in the long run. Unless you're just going on a mad ship destruction journey then I'd use Stretch for the Grog effect

Chests are locked to characters. Which means if you've opened a chest in one world, it will still count as having been opened in any other world that character loads into.

Nope, during Age of Sail, they are more of escort ships, scouts, enough to outgun anything smaller and outrun anything bigger but they are not built to effectively fight in the line of battle like ship of the line where they exchanged broadsides to send people to heaven

I was using a cutlass originally, so I went with agility. And then I found an infantry musket that scaled with agility and kept going that way. Eventually I got myself a razor and a dragon's breath, which also scale with agility.

As for actual stat points, agility is at like 21, vitality is at least 15 or 16, endurance is at like 3 or 4, and mastery is at 1 or 2. Everything else is at 0

health and stamina management seemed like pretty big bottlenecks for me early on, so I've been eating seafood platters for 20 vitality and drinking coffee for 20 endurance.

I also have an agilty necklace because even though diminishing returns are a thing, my attacks are doing about double the damage with it.

I had a knight's ring for the extra posture point because I was getting staggered too often early on. I swapped that out for... I wanna say a critical chance ring, but I can't recall at the moment, and the game's not open currently

I like the way the razor looks, I like the moveset of the regular swords vs. the rapier because the slash hits more targets, and I like that when it's fully ascended its agility scale rating is S

...although I don't know how important the letter part is. the infantry musket scale rating is A when it's ascended while the dragon's breath is only C, but the dragon's breath straight up deletes things about 75% of the time or more... but then it's also a blunderbuss

i have 120 hours of messing around with precision and crit build with rapier weapons and to me. mastery crit feels better. but guess what. it doesnt really matter pick what you enjoy.

the max possible currently with perk investment is around 40-45% crit chance without going insanely high into mastery
the crit damage you comfortably gonna go for is ~70-90% damage
your base damage will suffer because you have barely %dmg increase
with full investment into %dmg and a primary skill you reach close to crit damage on every hit

from what I was told, it's basically dark souls as far as builds are concerned. if you're using an agility based weapon look up dark souls agility builds for the stats and it's pretty much compatible... And those builds are basically just dump all your points into your primary weapon stat and vitality at a ratio of about 4:3

My go-to build is crude arboris saber strength scaling with talents in two of the trees to maximize damage output, usually hit for 800ish non crits, well over 1000 on crits without crit damage elixer and the special smacks for around 2700

extremely simplified: crit needs a buff to outdamage in prolongued fights
can be better if you are lucky, basically how crit works
vs. final boss you want to have max crit damage and 0 crit chance, for everything else you are better off with 0 crit, 1 less stat to worry about

they're pretty rare, but they do exist... although they didn't seem worth it to me, they would always stay "saplings" and only provide like 1 piece of wood and 1 seed each. you're better off chopping down trees, or better yet, you could blast 'em with your ship's cannons and then go hit the downed trunks with an axe

OMG, it does AMAZINGLY well in the swamp. a shot straight to the face of a crocodile can one-shot it, but not every single time. It's the best thing I found for the plague crushers too, but it burns thru double the gunpowder and bullets

the bayonet attack is a straight stab forward. It's most useful for enemies you pretty much need a firearm to deal with properly before they wreck you, while trying to keep distance for a reload. Usually with most enemies they're in your face when you have the first part of the reload done, then you give 'em a good poke, dodge away and continue ramming in the powder, take aim, and fire again

it also blows up and sets on fire other things around your target so you'll get extra wood and plant fire and hits multiple enemies as an added bonus. But it's a bit wonky, they have to be very close in distance to one another for it to work. If one thrall is like 5 feet behind the other it's only hitting the one in the front for some reason

well, okay it doesn't literally set things on fire but it does extra fire damage on top of the regular piercing

Take a lot of bandages, a respawn point, and a source of rested/your ship. You will need it. Things run fast and hurt. 😛 Good luck!

Okay, I've had moments where I logged out of the game (my single player game, not a dedicated or hosted server) for the night, and then logged back in the next day and suddenly everything that takes time is done.
i.e.
Crops are grown
ingots are smelted
Tanned leather/linen cloth is done being made

no the abselute worst part they "removed" was the healing herb bush.

I'm pretty sure they removed that bush from the release because they also made the herbs much more plentiful in the ruins. And the items that drop them in the ruins respawn.

In the patch notes it was admitted that the reason why several weapons and abilities were taken out was cause players complained to much about the quote on quote op even though its a private server pve game where everyone can play as they wish to play
