I found a fun way to kill the foothills boss that made the difficulty slider redundant... Me and my mate smuggled a bunch of those carryable explosive barrels from all over the map and loaded them just into the crossover point into the boss room. Then while the door was open but before it sealed us in with the boss. We moved the barrels in... Then we blew the boss up. Worth it.

Depends, frig is infinitely stronger than a brig, Blackbeard variant basically oneshots anything that's not a frig, even undergeared, brethren is straight up invincible, but incredibly slow. Only thing I use my blackbeard brig for is travel due to 22 knots speed, compared to 20 on blackbeard frig & 16 on brethren

and then later, in the swamp, is one such location for tumbaga ingots

The real threat isn't even the cannon balls themselves its the penetration the deeper the ball goes the more likely it is to fragment the hull and send shrapnel all over the place. Victory against a lighter ship could cause a magazine detonation.
