You can crash into other ships in this game. But trying to t-bone the enemy is a bad idea because they'll broadside all their cannons right into your face when you do it. If your friend is helping you in naval combat in their boat, you can also very likely crash into them while paying attention to the enemy. It doesn't do a lot of damage, but it messes up your speed, firing angle, line of sight, etc, etc...
You just don't get stuck in the enemy's boat, you just kinda crash then slide off like both ships are made of soap.

I have mixed feelings about it. It actually has magic involved where you can learn some spells in the talent tree. The combat is much, much harder than Windrose so you really gotta treat enemies like a souls-like game. You can "build" your base on your ship, but the ship itself.... well it's very barebones design when you repair it and the devs kinda expect you to get creative with its design. Actually the only part of ship you get without doing anything to it is the very bottom part. You have to craft/place the steering and sails yourself and can only have one of each.

Another good/bad thing about it (you best judge for yourself) is you have to build a device to put on the ship to act as a map. You will not have a minimap or map of your own. It will act as your map and you can only access it while interacting with it on the ship. This can be a drawback for some, but a big win for those who want to focus entirely on exploration. You will need it on ship to see where the islands are so it's kinda important while sailing at least. The islands themselves are not that big anyways. There's also like mini-bosses on islands i saw in the test and actual bosses but the actual bosses are part of questline you are dealing with.

Starter island's boss actually stomped lot of testers, but absolute fun fight it was cause like I said, combat feels souls-like.

I'd say more but I need to get little more sleep as I just woke up long enough to check on something, but got curious about discord pings too.

I don’t quite understand the concept of private servers. Basically, there are no official servers, and the server owner can change the rules however they want or shut down the server, which wipes out your progress. That actually takes away from the fun of the game and is currently keeping me from buying it. Also, is it true that only 8–32 players can fit on a server? What’s happened with development since WoW or New World? Where several thousand players can fit on a single server, which I think creates more dynamic gameplay. With only 8 players, it gets boring pretty quickly.

ive been in the table top role playing game community since 2018 how i talk is quite literal and precise which was expressed by me by professional therapists with degrees which is a valid and acceptable way of talking to ensure clear communication and to help prevent misunderstandings and miscommunications especially online

Context i was accused of being ‘’passive agressive’’ and ‘’rushing’’ for simply stating the current time on already a late game on a Sunday which the game lasts for 3-4 hrs that starts at 10 when people have expressed they have to get up early in the morning because they have work sometimes the gm would be 10 or 15 minuits late there would be times where it was self admitted that he himself and others derail and go off on tangents and have ADHD

I simply stated twice but not back to back the current time to help people keep on tract and to let them know of the current time

I was then told ‘’dude chill out’’ in a bad tone and immedtly expressed i was calm

To add further context during a session my character had an ability to summon an npc for help and i asked the gm what was their name which i got told ‘’f you’’ i did not agree to be talked to like that nor do i know him like that

And how he made a PASS comment towards me when i expressed i wanted to do a group hug because my player group got our points back

And if people notice on my profile it states my boundaries for people to not put words in my mouth and for people to take what i say at face value these boundaries are there for good and valid reasons

There would even be times in sessions where i would be talked over and cut off that id tell people to finish what they were going to say or when asked if i was saying something i dont say anything at all

I expressed i did not like being talked over but there was no changes to it there was no talking stick set in place or when i would talk nobody would mute themselves and not a single time the gm told others to stop

I got put off by AC3. The original and AC2 trilogy were fantastic. AC3 saw an engine change and I just couldn't gel with it. Skipped the series until my brother talked me into trying Unity on sale since it had coop. We enjoyed it. I got back into the series with Origins and have played through Mirage. It's not what it was originally, but it's still enjoyable. I'm hoping the original AC4 will go on sale again so I can play it. No interest at $40 though. Zero interest in a modern remake either.

I really want to utilize this take aim proc from my blue cutlass but using the green one seems like a waste of bullits, been taking 10-15 copper bullets to kill anything over low lvl with a musket so that pistol would seem worse

so there's this game I wanna get and mess around in but it's got bad reviews probably cause it aint your every day cozy game or something done in high quality. It's got combat I would consider much harder than Elden Ring or whatever from when I played in its demo a while back ago. It also has a odd name it called "Of Ash and Steel"

It's got no pirates in it so if ya looking for that pirate fix outside windrose, not getting it here. This game is absolutely BRUTAL but wanted to see if anyone else heard of it or played it. I hoping I get enough funds to grab it later in year. You have survival mechanics of food/water/sleep etc as well. The combat is supposed to be similar to Gothic they say or Witcher 1. What I give to try it again.

naw its not a height limit, it has a distance in 3d space that it covers. so you can actually overlap em somewhat if you place teh bonfire high enough. so if you're building a castle, you can have one on the roof and one on the floor, to cover all gaps.

I'd have to look at exact time, but it's probably ~40hrs now. I'm in the swamps with full lvl 15 gear and a halfway upgraded frigate. Character level 13. I've done no building, just taken my time 100% completing PoIs in the jungle and foothills. I'll play with building at some point, but after finishing my frigate equipment upgrades, I'll likely be toying with character gear/builds. I want to try a crit build.

When you delete a post on steam because you comment on not wanting to take some ones advice because they don't see a difference between a green 74% and a green 100% positive you know this company is wacked or at least the person running their steam forums. The post was not even bad.... maybe you should talk to your steam mod before they start ticking off more people by deleting posts that do not break any rules. Yeah, same but the scope of what they are going for release seems like it will be a ways off unless they are working in secret. There is going to be a sailing demo in June or July of this year and then plans to add guns to it for an arena type of testing next summer.
