Though the community managers play a huge role as being the faces of the development team, Ask Me Anything session among the devs and the community would be lovely for creating a bond among the players and the developers. I think it'd create an image of the devs seeming more open to questions and criticisms making us, the fans build a certain level of trust and loyalty towards the game and the dev team. It could be an AMA session or could be questions pre selected that'd be answered live or in a pre recorded video time to time, talking about the development and giving us teasers about what to look forward in future.
The devs and the community bonding is really something missing in the mobile gaming scene. The game can really capitalise on it.
