#Dps meter for boss fights

@snow gorge why are you against a dps meter?
it promotes toxicity
I mean I'm sure it can give toxic people an avenue to be more toxic
but many people want it as a tool for various reasons
comparing builds in raid scenarios, measuring improvements, etc.
I feel like solely having a dummy just gives you a theoretical numbers thats not quite replicable or entirely accurate to the actual game
just make it only available to self (as in, you can see your own damage, but not other ppl)
while I'd certainly rather it show all, I'd also be fine with this
I actually think that would make for a totally reasonable compromise between both perspectives
you think that's fair, @snow gorge?
I think while that is better, I can still see something like 'lfg uber nightmare hare, post prior dps log in discord for inv'
-that is 100% the kind of thing i would hate to happen here.
interesting. I think its totally fair if some players want to farm with players of similar performance tho
what I dont like is people who insult or berate others for 'under' performing
but players who will want some "post prior dps log in discord" will find their own way to do that anyways
maybe they'll ask for like x amount of dps on the dummy or something
also I have no idea what uber nightmare hare is, is that a dungeon/raid?
its a made up thing just for an example
of a 'hard' raid boss etc

I dont necessarily think it is toxic, some ppl have different competitive levels and they should be allowed to exclude who they dont want from their parties.

Avoiding a DPS meter doesnt stop that kinda of behavior as they can just say we dont like your build/ items in inspect
Man made 2 points and spoke 2 truths
This can already happen - the tools already exist, but it doesn't happen here because the content at least rn doesn't require this level of enforcement. Groups could very easily go "r> spider queen farm must have 2m 10sec dps dummy dps lost screenshot in discord" but it's not necessary, so it doesn't happen
A self dps meter on non bosses already exists too in that same format
I really like the idea of self dps meters on bosses because it indicates performance enhancements I can make to myself and checking actual fight dps because things like dmg vs neutral cards don't exist
and one thing that dps meters (usually) have, that the training dummies don't, are damage breakdowns
i would love to see how much of my damage is coming from my auto-attack, vs my grand cross or my judgement blade
not to mention that not only it's pretty useful to have a breakdown on a training dummy, but that breakdown also might change in real fights when the bosses don't necessarily let you do what you want
I agree with noobzor here having the breakdown and being able to see what sources of damage are doing the most dmg is rly helpfull in polishing a build, this also aplies to things like damaga taken too so you can see exacly what you died to or what kind of damage youre taking
This is also incredibly valuable
