This is some communist game design. So what if some people play more in the first week??? People that are ahead can carry the noobs and busy people up.

What do you expect to gain? Most people can get to Paragon in 1 evening? What the f-k is there to do for the other 6 days of the week?

The stated goals from the video included (not an exhaustive list, I might be missing some points):

  1. The ability to catch major oversights like Preseason 2 Aeona before it totally breaks Eternal / the ranking ladder.
  2. An attempt to diminish the sense of having missed out and it being too late to jump into the game after a week (comparison is the thief of joy)

Given how bad (1) was this season, I'm inclined to support their choice.

I don't personally agree with (2), but I don't know enough about it to contest too confidently.

1 is so bad because only the dev play tested until season 2 was finished

Not sure how limiting our gems acquisition has anything to do with them having to balance characters

If they needed a week of player data to see that stagger would be problematic this game is fuckin cooked lmao

I find it hard to believe that none of the testers raised major red flags over it as well

Time gating is the single worst decision they can make after allowing aeona into the game. Just implement a PTR a month before season drop.
