#Encourage playing multiple heroes by adding a Weekly quest system with hefty rewards.

I think it's no secret that by now playing alts anywhere under Eternal can take forever to find a group. Here's my suggestion:

Weekly quests that require you to play any underpopulated roles for 10 games in X difficulty (X being Any but eternal) and the reward can be something akin to doing 10 dungeons in Eternal on your main. So around 2000 gold, loads of Marks of Fellowship and maybe an item that you can exchange for 1 Splendid Gem of your choice.

These weekly quests would come live after 1 week of each season's start so you wouldn't feel obligated to do them on an alt day 1 for the rewards.

Awful idea imo. I and many others have expressed they play this game over WoW because it is drop-in, drop-out without the requirement to feel like we have to keep up with dailies or weeklies to maintain the ability to compete at the highest level. Making a requirement to log in each week would completely negate the game model.

Why would it be a requirement if the rewards would be similar to doing 10 dungeons in Eternal with maybe a small bonus? Doing 11 eternal dungeons would give you more rewards, this would only be an incentive for people who want something different once a week

#

Not to mention with a dedicated farm group running low eternals is way faster too. As it stands if you start late or want to play an alt alone 2-3 weeks into the season it’s an awful experience

This just kinda sounds like “unforced” qp again.

I think it could be a lot smaller on a per game basis but if you put big numbers infront of people they will think they have to do it.

Considering that you can’t get eternal gear from this or any materials other than Marks of fellowship it’d always be worse than doing 10 eternal dungeons, premade or not, the only incentive behind doing this would be “going to a new char and doing easy content gives you something tangible” once a week. It wouldn’t be the optimal thing to do it’s just be something to do if you want to chill in easier content

#

Maybe you’re playing a dps and you have 5 minute queues in eternal tier 3 so you decide you want to get quick games in so you swap to a tank to do 10 games in Champion with instant queues and get something out of it that still benefits your main that was the idea

thin raptor
#

I don’t hate it but I’m with Jhazz that I don’t want a quest to do on a weekly basis I think a role queue would be decent and rewarding it is good

I just think your angle isn’t the right direction

#

Do it per game, don’t cap it

#

It removes the fomo of you beee to complete your quest

#

Need*

#

Imagine you do 8 get busy resets coming and you can’t get on to play

#

Now your just out your rewards that’s wow design lol

#

I’m down for constructive feedback but Jhazz hallucinated a version of this that would fit his personal nightmare and gave feedback off of his own take that had close to nothing to do with mine so I wanted to explain what I wanted

Jhazz also expressed an opinion that a lot of people have. We came here to do keys and push with our friends not have weekly time gated content

#

There’s games that have that already

Yea like to be clear I think you’re onto something I just think the idea of questing is why people are playing this and aren’t playing wow.

If you start to make a bunch of quests you’ll start to drive a wedge in between your game and those people

But I don’t want to get too far off topic

I did and I personally didn’t like the Adept wall last season. I think the bigger issue stems from how gems and bis gearing is time consuming to get so most people don’t bother with another character. So the only people playing multiple heroes are new players testing the waters, but these new players are extremely fickle and will leave the dungeon after dying once to a mechanic they don’t understand because they’re not invested enough to care to ask what happened, instead they just hope they get carried next run

#

Good and experienced players having the option to be rewarded with eternal tier gold and marks for their time in exchange for helping out lower leagues would be good because it requiring low pop roles implies they will tank or heal so they would teach the dps players routes and how to solve mechanics and because they need to complete dungeons for the credit they’d be incentivized to stay if the group wiped midway (kind of not possible with this seasons tuning for good players but imagine they rebalanced difficulties)

Sorry I’m not being very clear apologies. I like some of the changes they’ve made but I think they need to claw it back to add some progress to those leagues.

The route guided affix haste needs to be nerfed by half at least per league and have the haste removed in paragon.

And affixes should start in champ

turbid shadow

Oh I definitely agree with you, this seasons leagues are way too easy. To me last season was too hard but this season is too easy.

thin raptor
#

Adept wall was crazy but tbf it only really happens the first time you get there because you’re learning the new abilities at least imo every alt I played it wasn’t an issue and that’s what learning is for

#

Pushing everything to eternal isn’t it. Again I’m going to stop because it’s besides the point of the post at this point

turbid shadow
#

I’m with you but as I read you played wow too and I do think this game should be open to people who haven’t played wow before

#

I feel like a non wow player would struggle too much last league

#

And I agree that they struggle too little this league

#

It’s a work in progress we are in early access after all

thin raptor
#

I agree but that’s why we have to have the game actually teach them. If you hold their hand for 4 leagues then drop it all on their heads at once the shock will drive them away.

#

And you end up in the same spot
