Hello, I wanted to elaborate a bit on this. So I understand having timed events like the Halloween or Christmas events with cosmetics and the like, but PLEASE do not make them exclusive or unattainable in the future. Personally, when I see FOMO stuff like this, I get a negative reaction. Think of it from the perspective of a new player: maybe you see a cosmetic that's SUPER cool looking, but you can never get it because it was from an event 3 years ago.
I personally love what DRG does, where cosmetics from previous seasons are still attainable, but might be slightly harder to obtain. Sure stuff like the tiger mount from the NextFest demos can't be obtained any more, but making it so in 2026 people couldn't get the broom mount from 2025? That seems extremely lame in my opinion.

Im of the opinion they should simply make old stuff accessible doing their related event like a "legacy rewards" vendor selling all the old ones, probably at some kind of discount to let people catch up a bit easier, especially in like 5 years.

I started the game the day after Halloween event ended, and ngl seeing the cool zombie meiko skin and cute sylvie skin constantly while I was stuck with the most generic boring possible rewards really hampered my willingness to play. When the only true lasting "reward" in this game is cosmetics, having the best, or really the only cosmetics locked behind fomo feels horrendous.
Lucky for me when they finally dropped the Winter event, they made it so unbelievably unfun, grindy, and basically impossible to grind for solo queue players that I just quit the game. Nevermind how mid or outright ugly some of the skins were, esp for meiko 😭.
There are many many more players like me I promise, 1 or 2 people out of the 18 or so in my mmo friend group put up with that at all, all of the others logged in, said f that, and then haven't logged back in since. Making your fomo skin event a mega grind over the HOLIDAYS is insane greed that they can not afford rn. How is it greed if they're free? They're trying to stretch out the content they made over the next 5 years apparently, according to Hamish's "youre only meant to get one or two skins for your favorite heroes" comment. Well congrats you gatekept your skins among the only 1000 or so people still playing and made any people who potentially would've come back irritated instead and likely drop the game forever. Great work guys.

Im not a fan of devaluing "prestige" cosmetics by giving them out to everyone after some time has passed. You can include it as a 10k mount in every season, but that would make the seasons more boring i guess.

Also so far, both halloween skins and christmas skins last i checked were mostly the base unequipped look of the character

They should tie cosmetics to higher eternals pushing people to get better not unobtainable but hard to get so for line eternal 60 u get a skin and then 90 or so
And then maybe 1 unique skin to the gamers that pushed to higest that season only 4 players get one, incentive to try harder

Which is unobtainable for the majority of people. I would agree if this game was about skill, but it's not. The whole limiting factor is time investment.

I think Diablo 3's seasonal player portraits were a nice little cosmetic thing that felt special to get, but because it was just a portrait and not something major like an armor or weapon skin, missing out portraits from past seasons didn't really feel bad.

I’d suggest playing when the events take place. If you don’t get the skins, you don’t get them. There will be other events. This isn’t a single player game.

that's the issue that some players will have: if cosmetics can NEVER be obtained again they may not want to play
it seems silly but there's a reason DRG is very popular. ALL of their cosmetics can be obtained, though it becomes harder after the event
