#Plz add a entrance portal or one-way 'fence' into boss arenas

There are reasons to not allow players into boss arenas after the boss is engaged. There are likely cheese strats to dodge mechanics by being LoS. There’s also intentionally pulling trash into a fight late and other shenanigans.
You can avoid players being locked out by visually checking that players are in the room before engaging the boss.
These are all already things that can happen in some bosses like in capstones. There is not enough cheese potential to make up for the base frustration of this happening so often, and even then there's very easy solutions to your whataboutisms like deaggroing mobs if you use the 1 way and the boss resetting if it tries to target a player outside the arena like it already does.
Or you can just not pull the boss when not everyone is inside?
You lose nothing by making this change except random moments of frustration for players, especially newer ones. I can't really explain it any clearer.
You lose dev time. You introduce new potential for bugs and unintended play. You lose two vectors of skill expression (though these are fairly minor).
Adding a portal that teleports you 2 meters forward won't make a dev break a sweat. You're stretching really hard for reasons and ignoring the already existing bugs and unintended play with the current state of the system, so I'm gonna assume this is moot now.
No reason for this not to exist, anyone saying otherwise is just arguing you with the sake of it. Nothing wrong with adding a small quality of life change.
Right, because we control the tank's actions as well as the other 2 players in the pug
This is a team game. Just because something isn’t 100% under your own control doesn’t mean there’s no skill expression involved or that it needs to be removed.
You can’t solo kick every important cast in the game. You can’t control where other players stand for dispel pools in Sailors. You can’t control where other players use their relics.
If you want to be fully in control of your success and failure this is the wrong game.
Way different, those mechanics are meant to feel rewarding. Getting locked out feels like shit. Next
And if you think waiting at a door is skill expression... 🤣
Does it really feel rewarding to watch Dread Arc go off and kill the whole group when you don’t have a kick?
There are at least 2 skills at play, the first is the tank (and the dps) paying attention to the position of their teammates and not engaging a boss before everyone is ready. The second is the healer keeping up with the group and not standing still healing if it’s not needed.
I called those minor before and I still think it’s the case. I just don’t see why we should be wanting to spend limited dev hours on adding a feature that will introduce new bugs and issues to fix a problem that can be solved with a trivial amount of effort/awareness from players.
Because it frustrate new comers and it increases the likelihood they will drop the game.
Sure, if you are pushing E70, that's 100% on the team if a boss is pulled without anyone present.
If it's your first dungeon and you either aren't in the room when the tank pulls the boss or if as the tank you pull too fast, that's just pure frustration.
It's not a "big deal", and I kinda get the "it will take development time away from something else". But pretending it's any kind of skill expression is wild.
As per the "it will allow to do X or Y", I'd even argue that it will increase skill expression to have such a portal
I mean it clearly is a skill. Although I’ll say it again, a fairly minor one.
I do not have this problem when I’m running pugs as a tank. I don’t have to wait around for my healer friend to get into the room when I’m playing with him.
Being aware of your teammates positioning is a skill, one that’s not just limited to deciding when to engage a boss.
Having the ability to negate boss mechanics is a skill it’s true, but it’s one that’s removes another skill from the game. The portal on last boss in Ransack is an example of this that’s bad.
I am happy for you that you are able to express your skills by being able to be in the boss arena 👍
Any individual action is trivially easy to execute in this game….
First, they should fix the boss resetting if a player is outside and gets targeted
A player outside the arena should never be targeted by an engaged boss
If someone gets caught outside and i wanna 3man a boss just let me do it
This already happens, if youre near the boss arena but not inside you get ported in
its a bit inconsistent rn, which is even more reason to just fix it wholesale. I think the biggest/easiest to pull off offenders are Wyrmheart, Everdawn, and Urrak
Depends on the boss and isn't really reliable. Not sure why or when it happens.
In wyrmheart for example you are usually ported to the arena if you are on the bridge, but once a dps didn't and he was stuck outside.
Bridge in sailor however just disappear and you fall into the void.
Gotta keep us on our toes somehow
Honestly, ye, there is no reason not to add/fix this.
Even in full voice/premade, there were moments, just spacing out, and forgetting person.
And as mentioned above Wyrm for example does not always TP you in
