Just sharing an experience not entirely sure what the solution could be, but twin souls being meikos like most powerful survivability cd it can very easily turn into a troll move. In cith for example the mobs that spawn the floating orbs, the orb can spawn right on your twin and kill the party. Also the ice golem boss it can be targeted with the aoe cleave so u wont be able to clear orbs. Im sure theres more cases of this in other dungeons. I know in tuz its practically useless on the first and last boss. Playing helena w/ grand melee, and maybe this is a bad comparison to make, grand melee has no downside, you can pop it whenever and its mainly about maximizing its use. While meiko you have to be aware of these niche troll moments. At a high lvl im sure meikos know exactly what they are using their statue for but for the common folk using the defensive can wipe ur party if not used carefully. The End.

I think it beeing a full-blown party member is by design and it is a part of Meikos' skill expression. GM is an OP button, but it's only 1 button. Meiko has 3 less powerful CCs, but you can be way more expressive with them.
While TSB can be grieving you at some places, a good placd Dave can immencly help your team.
- You can solo GFQ last boss soak.
- You can split soak on Stormwatch, when you healer has no CDs.
etc..
Also randomly starting to get DPS mechanics is kinda funny NGL
For the most part I agree with you, it can provide very interesting utility. Just think the logic for it cud be tuned to account for some of these weird interactions.
I mean, yeah but then you would remove the part of the skill expression which is "don't dave here"
Idk i think there is a middle ground that can be achieved here, that still retains the skill expression.
I don't disagree on the core premise but some of the things Dave can do at high eternal levels are at least as OP as grand melee
It's way too durable against boss damage, which means when Dave is good for the rest of the dungeon, it can just trivialize large chunks of a boss encounter
