I understand not giving healers a proper interrupt, but there is a way to have our cake and eat it too. On healers, pressing the 'Set Interrupt Target' hotkey causes that mob's ongoing cast to flash, thereby acting as an interrupt request to the other players. Useful to give experienced healers some more agency over the group's performance, without unduly burdening new healers.
#Healers: Request Interrupt Feature

So long as there's a way to avoid it being spammed, I appreciate any additional communication features
Agreed. Spamming it could be both distracting and rather toxic, so maybe a short hidden cooldown would be in order.
uhh...... no?
I don't think this is good UI wise and if it's to that point of that, might as well outright give healers interrupts.
This idea only works because it is optional, unlike giving all healers interrupts. Keeps things simple for healers who already have their hands full, but give more experienced healers a chance to help out the newer players who may not yet know all the important casts.
perhaps more importantly, I feel like giving healers interrupts will lead to both more blame on healers and more dps players getting carried to higher tiers without learning to interrupt
coming from a game where healers did have an interrupt, I initially found it frustrating to not be able to interrupt, but after playing for a while it's nice to not have to be responsible for everything
Let's assume I have no knowledge of what to interrupt and you ping an ashen in stormwatch. How would this work to show you want big ooga flame kicked and not flame blast (the other cast) kicked?
The 'Set Interrupt Target' keybind doesn't work for healers, so the idea is that this keybind is repurposed for them so that when a mob is casting something and they press this, the cast bar or some other UI element flashes. If the mob is not casting the keybind does nothing.
People won't be able to react to that fast enough will they?
Requires healer to react which takes time then the dps or tank to react which also takes time.
well it's not required
the fact that it's not a real interrupt doesn't mean that it's ever the healer's fault for not alerting people to a cast in time
but it could help
Maybe not the first time, but they should hopefully learn "ok I need to kick Anguish Unleashed next time".
I could possibly see it working.
Would be nicer to have you mark it on pull and have it only mark your desired kick. Unsure how that would work easily though.
Eg. Tag mob and then when the spell you want kick comes it flashes or is a brighter colour or something.
Having that work that effortlessly however would be a challenge.
Yea I couldn't think of an elegant way to do that, and it would be TOO effective, so much so that healers would be blamed for not marking every time.
