a friend joining late, but you know they are on the same skill level as you are. they have done their Tuzari farm and gotten 330ilvl and all that smack. now you want to push but have to start at +4 and get all the way back to your 40's. feels bad.
let me play with my friends on the level we want to play with

on the other side.
letting people join at any level is a fast track to Boosting. and the system in place now prevents that, or atleast makes it less attractive.

i mean, are we really afraid of boosting?

its a thing in wow because people need weekly keys which gives actually player power, and want mounts / achievements from raids.

the max reward in fellowship stops at 10k (which is quiet low) and its a cosmetic only, there is no player power locked behind higher key levels. the fastest way of getting gear is farming tuzari 2 and if you want to get boosted through that for 50 times, be my guest..

so who is gonna pay for a +20/30/40 boost?

so the questions of: is this 12k person boosted, will probably not come up?

Do not underestimate the dumb things people will do with their money. Some guy with more money than skill will certainly decide a platinum trim is worth money

And boosting people that belong on the last 50 pages of the ladder to the front 50 pages of the ladder affects everyone on the ladder that is trying to climb

you can already, you can pay someone to play on your account. it would be just easier with no difficulty restrictions.

you can, but it is alot of work doing every single level.
if they do as OP says, i can make a new character and join ur 50+. then it's waaay easier and people will actually start selling boosts

example:
i want boost to 15K rating
now you need to boost me one level at a time taking around 15 hours.
if i can start from 50+, it will take 2 hours, if that.

the people that wanna make money of boosts can already do it if they want, its work for them, so they won't care to do like 40 dungeons if they dictate the price and there will be always people with too much money and too less time. it would only be easier this way.

it's not about if boosting can or can not be a thing, it's about making it easier to boost

so boosting or not boosting should not be a argument against lifting the restrictions. if not fully lifting the restrictions they should at least make it work like leagues. you can do e7-capstone and then e14-capstone then e21-capstone, always 7 levels unlock like leagues do it.

If they are not going to remove downscaling in contender/adept bc it reduces the chance for boosting in the easiest portion of the game they aren’t going to remove eternal progression so you can skip the first 30+levels of eternal

And it doesn’t really matter if it accomplishes anything. There are people that pay for the dumbest stuff and get some weird satisfaction from things they didn’t accomplish

its not an all or nothing thing. it is perfectly fine to take steps to keep a small problem from getting exponentially worse. there are no perfect solutions. forcing carries to do it one dungeon at a time vs being able to insta boost a brand new hero is a deterrent and it needs to be there.

people are trying to optomize the crap out of a game that just started. just play the gd game and stop worrying about minmaxing your progression. people play so angry these days.
