I understand the idea behind resets, and I understand the idea behind trims as a sign of ranking. Definitely healthy for the game.
As it stands right now though, the only things that will carry over between seasons are transmoggable gear & mounts earned.
I propose the ability to trim previous seasons gear based off that seasons performance. This at the very least preserves the integrity of those who did decide to push high.
For example:
I push to 0.1% during Season 1 and unlock the platinum trim during that season.
Season 2 Rolls around and all trims are reset for Season 2 gear.
Season 1 transmoggable gear still has the ability to trim to platinum.
From a technical standpoint, I'm not sure if it is currently possible to do this - but I do feel like if resets wipe the progress of aspirational content, there is really no point in pushing past earning the 10k mount.
I hope I'm getting my point across in a concise manner. Thoughts?
