#Standard Tv programing with varied episode duration
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
if you play around in slots editor you can set a slot to “dynamic” for a number of eps, and each slot is a diff show. that’s what i did for mine of varying lengths
you can even set a slot to fixed at 30m per show and just let it fill that in i think
Isn't it automatic? In the sense that in a 30-minute block, if there are 11-minute episodes, it should automatically schedule two episodes and use fillers for the remaining minutes and, depending on the settings, also fillers between episodes
Apparently it's not automatic
That'd be fine except I am trying to create a Tv show schedule and it seems slot scheduler is not the way to do that.
slot scheduler does exactly what you are asking for in the original post
not sure what a "30 minute schedule" is in a context other than the slot scheduler
in time slots, you organize by start time. the duration of the slot is the difference between the start of a slot and the following slot
in slot editor like morgan mentioned, you control either the absolute duration of the slot or the number of discrete programs, regardless of length, the slot will play
in both, the slot will pack as tightly as possible with programs (taking other constraints in mind, like padding)
except it doesn't. The slots in both cases don't pack as tightly as possible. I get 18minutes flex spots
please post your settings
it is easy to prove it works as expected with default settings and a simple schedule.
two one hour blocks, one with 23 min shows and another with shorter eps. you can see them filling up the available space within the block.
here's another example in the regular slot editor. this one is using static slot durations with padded start times on 0/5s. again, you can see it filling the slots.
large flex in a slot is more than likely a configuration issue
thank you! I'll look into it when I get home

Thank you this issue as been resolved.
I'm having other issues unrelated do I make an other post for help ?
