#Void Staff or Shadowflame?

Being a vlad otp, I was wondering which one is better to build? Ive been building shadowflame more and it feels better primarily because of the flat 100 ap alongside the mr pen.

also, void tends to be less valuable early game anyway. shadowflame is great 2nd or 3rd for a decent amount o mages tthat like flat pen

Not sure on vlad since I never play him but on champs like ekko it's really troll to go shadowflame over void

i mean u can always get both. but if u get shadowflame late it has to be specifically into already squishy low mr targets

right. look at that item as this. 100 ap 200 hp (or smth). so its mostly pure ap with soem hp. cool. now the passive is literally just flat magic pen. min 10 max 20. so its always 10 pen but it can go to 20, and does so just by the target being "low". in reality its like 1k hp or less. the whole shield part is just an added bonus. its another alternative for more pen. but if ur target has 1750 hp or less (current hp, which means a tank thats low also counts) u have 15 pen from that item. if they get shielded u get 5 more pen.... not a lot

serpentfang actually removes half of the shields. shadowflame will sometimes give u like 5 extra magic pen, thats all. in reality shadowflame is just a AP magic pen item.

Void late game. Shadowflame good early on when hp bars are around 1.2K and into squishy comps

shadowflame into shield and or when theres no mr, void when they are mr second/third item basically into mr boots if your heavy cc etc and they are item towards that, or witts end.

i've been running phase rush for years

i stopped building it after it got nerfed from being giga broken with the buff on it and vlad

main build for me is : protobelt, sorcs, zhonyas, void, rabadons and mejais

it's still good in combat

but just depends ur playstyle as you wouldn't rlly want it if you want straight elec burst
