Did custom statuses just got silently removed?

Hi, here in my League Client, there used to be a customized status set by players.
On the right upside corner, there is your icon and your current status ("Online", "Away", "In game", "Creating ranked game", etc), which you could customize to a custom message. WHICH WAS RECENTLY REMOVED.

It gave the ecosystem of your friendlist such an unique energy and a small breeze of fresh air when people changed it from time to time.
Some people used to put funny messages about a recent match, some put things that helped as a topic to start a conversation, and some of your friends put messages that expressed how they were feeling in the moment.
Now it is only an objective information section with no life or personality or whatsoever, I noticed it way more patches ago but I thought it was a bug that was going to get fixed and I did not had to worry about, but 2 patches have already landed and nothing changed... :/
You can go, scroll each one and pass the mouse over to see IF they have written something, but who wants to have to manually go through each profile to experience the interesting quirks of their friendlist?

Sadly, this seems to be the mentality of a lot of companies, and more often than not, they miss that having nice features that players like and use probably does increase money made, but just not in a way where you'd ever be able to measure it, and to the business world: "if you can't measure it, it doesn't exist".
