i am grinding levels right now to unlock ranked, but before i play ranked i want to at least get a main in mind. i looked through all the champions and holy shit there are a lot. i made a list of the ones i liked either bc they look cool or they seem fun asf to play. i kept it short, below 10. any tips and insight on these characters would be appreciated.

aphelios
briar
fiora
irelia
kalista
kayn
nidalee
yasuo
yone

p.s please don’t come in here with that “you shouldn’t play ranked as soon as you hit level 30” stuff. i can’t think of a single video game (even fps) where ranked isn’t the best place to learn. cheers!

( also this entire time i have been playing kayn )

in my opinion

#

this is a massive range of champions with no clear direction of what you are good at or what you prefer to play. they have massively different styles. i have high mastery on a lot of those champs, and they take a wildy different amount of games to master depending on which one we are talking about

#

it sounds like you like playing ad duelists? but it ranges depending on whether you prefer mid, top, or adc, or jg etc. the only champs you didnt pick is support

#

id also say some of those champions are VERY difficult to master and take hundreds to thousands of games to master like kalista for example. plus shes really not good if you dont know how to play her, so while you CAN go into ranked at level 30 and play her, most likely ur gonna get stomped by a guy who has like, 30 games on caitlyn for example

#

id suggest that you TRY OUT these champions as you are leveling up, and see what you actually like. sometimes champions look cool but their playstyle isnt for you or their role isnt for you.

#

off the list you picked - i suggest maybe playing fiora and toplane, and then flexxing yone/yasuo/irelia, get used to dueling as an ad champion and get used to toplane

#

its smarter generally in league to learn the game while playing a simple champion (such as malphite or annie) because you then master the champion relatively quickly, so you have way more time to learn the game rather than spending 500 games learning the champion AND the game

#

hope this helps ^.^

If your pool is that spread out, then it's definitely true that you haven't played enough games to figure out what you enjoy vs what you can play consistently.
Rank is about consistency, so if you are actually trying to climb, then you're going to need to spend time and figure that out through many games.

On the other hand, if you don't give a crap about ranking, then do whatever the hell you want and play them all.

#

In terms of viability, it's technically fine, just too spread around roles to be legitimately useful for climbing.

lol.. people entertaining this post are silly since he literally only needs what he doesnt want to hear and the fact hes overwhelming himself with 7/9 champs being very difficult.

play simple champions in every role, to learn matchups and overall macro, then take your experience from that and find the role that suit better your playstyle, cant get any simpler

#

after picking a role, your champ pool/choices will decrease, cuz you mentioned toplaners, midlaners, adcs and junglers

#

first learn macro, after that ideally get a 3 champ pool and focus on your micro
