Idk why everyone is complaining about tanks. I started playing league like 2 weeks ago and since then the majority of the time it's the tanks that really dominate the game. Especially with the lifesteal items and support from healers. I played a game today as a pantheon in top lane against a mordekaiser. He won a couple standoffs and then dominated the game. Bro got an ace and basically killed our whole team while his own team was just in the back providing some support via hp or just stunning us.

Also since im new, appreciate some advise on how to use minions in laning and what not.

as a tank player, I must agree. I don't feel weak at all. May be my playstyle though

Tanks are good right now

#

But no one likes playing tanks and will just continue to play squishy carries

imo tanks are boring to play has a toplaner i need to prema fight cant, i dont wanna scale and become unkillable

I mean I’d be hard pressed to call mordekaiser a tank.

#

And I don’t think anyone’s calling “tanks” bad at all. Especially not this season

Tanks are really bad cause split pushing is strong, no tank is winning against any split pusher after 2 items, and with grubs now too, tanks are forced to fight super early before 1 item where they dont have much damage

Wait until you seee tank briar next patch and know despair. Heal 20k in one fight even with heal cut.

Well for one, Mordekaiser is not a tank, but a juggernaut. Actual tanks, have strong CC and usually itemize pure defense since they don't scale well with offensive stats.

Mordekaiser isn't a tank. Right now tank items are terrible because lethality items are too good

#

Rengar, K6 are one shotting full tank Mundo's in one combo it's really unfair to the tank players

everyone gets one shot even the tanks. yes they have an advantage in a burst meta but still theyre not weak, its the items some can abuse a little too well

The problem with Tanks is that they always fall of eventually, with very niche cases such as a fed chogath (litterly and figurativly) or other infinite scalers such as sion, because late game most adcs run Kraken slayer/lord Dominiques aswell your the target of most cc

During this szn at least
When items like hollow radiance and jaksho exist

#

Even if we're talking strictly armor items, ibg/frozen heart/randy's/jaksho/sunfire are all very strong solid items, and anathemas is still as non-interactive as always

But who cares if tank items are broken literally no one is playing it

You want bruiser items then just go tank items later, tho as far as I'm aware there's like maybe 2 adcs doing that tho lol

Tanks are almost always useful as proper tanks always give ur team someway to start fights (malphite face tanking everythung and ulting the back line, ornn ult, maokai flash e ult, etc.) But they can be hard to solo carry on as they dont have the damage to 1v9 a team. They definitely arent weak but tank players complain bc some games no matter how well they play they cant win since they have no damage.

so you have to understand that people that say tanks are bad would be in super high mmr where people know how to actually abuse and stop tanks. in the mmr where 90% of the playerbase is playing amumu a jungle tank consistantly had the highest win rate for multiple seasons.

Tanks fill a very vital role of providing engage, peel, and soak for carries to do their jobs. They primarily scale with levels which is why they're often sent top lane, jungle and support. In addition tanks with gold can actually do solid damage due to the itemization that they bring. If you want examples look at: Zac, Ksante, Shen. They've terrorized the rift but bad players don't want to play them.

A Team without a tank will struggle vs a team that brings hard engage into the mix. The ability have an engage on demand is extremely powerful. You see this often in lower skill brackets where a team goes 5 carry champions with minimal engage and low synergy, then complain that tanks are broken.
