how do i play against akali mid?

im only silver 4 so it might be partially due to that but I feel like I never win lane against a decent akali. I play ahri, vex, or syndra if anyone has any tips

Accept the reality that you're not poking an akali out of lane

She has bs health regen and base mr

So you need to burst her with your entire combo to make sure she can't just regen all your dmg with dshield second wind + base health regen + base mr

Vex should be a counter but from personal and other experiences it’s more of a “is this Akali bad, good or a one trick” match up

so basically play safer and dont try to trade until i can actually hit abilities on her

Hold stuns and she can never engage

Just keep poking her out by baiting for minions

What you do w/ the wave is more important than in most matchups, being melee, if you can freeze wave near your tower she can't really trade properly with you at all, and you free to apply pressure as your resources allow (imo, to start the lane, let wave push into you and then freeze it for a while, once your wave builds up, shove it out and recall for Lost Chapter, after that you should have the mana sustain to apply effective pressure (just respect the shroud and her level 6 and you shouldn't have too many issues).

I mean the only real way to play against her is to pick heavy poke in runes or just play waves until you get lost chapter. Akali has the highest base sustain in mid and just goes dshield 2nd wind and is practically unpokeable out of lane because mages will run out of mana before they kill her.

Really hate what riot did to her. They took away her skill expression and just made her stat check you and made it very unfun to play against.

so what are actual good picks against her? ive been interested in learning champs that arent mage anyways

I like lissandra vs her, basically anything that has cc and or is tanky enough to survive her all in

Talon is also another good pick, he can kill her lvl 2 and he has the highest base mr in the game.

I haven't really played syndra vs akali but if you're good at positioning with balls she isn't too hard to play vs. Syndra just has less reliable cc as it requires setup

some genuine advice

dont stand in the wave while playing vs akali or she can abuse u and push wave, early levels its hard for her to cs to get the wave in as much as possible and ward raptors lvl 3

if u can get her under tower as cannon wave is coming u can try to setup a freeze have knowledge of where jungler is

if u really wanna know how to play vs akali u need to play akali because telling u this doesnt mean anything

information over text doesnt translate well into actual gameplay. low elo akalis are all terrible and they will run dshield second wind. know this and go scaling runes

would not recommend lissandra into akali becuase she buys merc treads and ur useless for the rest of the game

If your in silver 4 the Akali is prolly not good so play characters that are meta lkke@ori and syndra cause those champs r op

As an emerald akali otp, it’s hard to play against it, it’s not gonna be about who you pick really, it’s gonna be more about how good the enemy player is

If she’s not great then smooth sailing for you, but if she’s decent at the game then you’re folded

With Syndra dont use E offensively, pre 6 her only engage is hitting her E which you then can counter for free, post 6 you have to be aware of her ult, if you step up too much she usually she ults in, then Es you in melee range with you unable to dodge - wait till she uses E2 here; you need to use E before her R2 as that kills you.

All champs have tools to deny her E-engage, be it Syndra E or Vex W/Ahri E which both cancel dashes. Dont use these spells offensively unless she already burned her E.
Then it just comes down to managing the wave better, getting a CS lead and stopping her from roaming/getting compensation for the roams. On equal income, not over the gold curve, you are usually stronger than her - but she has great tools for skrimishes/chaotic teamfights. In controlled environments its hard for her to find an opening

she's most likely going to use the smoke to poke so if you dodge the kunai and the smoke is out you can all in her
