Don't see this mentioned in patch notes anywhere but why would Riot remove a useful feature like that? I sometimes plan my bans specifically around whether I get final counter pick or not.
#They removed the "first pick" indicator in champ select.

It's technically redundant information. The game does show what side of the map you're on when you first get into lobby
That said I think the removal was an oversight
