i spent a while playing mundo like a madman, literally a trogodlite, and got to plat 4, but then i started to want to actually improve my macro and wave management, picked a more able to carry champion ( fiora & jax ), both i have m7 so i know how to play them, but when i decided to improve, and learn, and really get better, i started losing, i got from plat 4 to gold 4, and is really discouraging, and i now have ABSOLUTLY no motivation to keep playing and improving, i know it takes a while, but do any of you have any tips on how to soothe this dismotivation and make me achieve some "fuel" to keep playing?

(sorry for any typo, english is not my main language so im not used to typing in it)

I think you've probably integrated too much the "tank playstyle" so switching to carry duelist can be a bit rough, especially when on top of that you're basically learning a whole new way to play

in short : yeah it's normal i think, maybe you should either go back to mundo (while you seeme to be able to carry alright with lol) while you learn "proper" gameplay, or keep playing as you did while making sure you are able to get good results back

if you're playing fiora and jax because you think they're better than mundo, don't if you like a champion you will naturally play better with them

I find motivation by finding issues in my gameplay and working on fixing them.

So lots of vod review and understanding where things went wrong

Get a good sense for how long it takes to move from any given spot on the map to any other, and been watching for when enemies leave vision off the map and ask yourself: where would they logically go, and how long will it take them to get there (don't need time, just an intuition for how long), and then react accordingly to the prediction. It's simple to state but the hard part is learning to do this while juggling everything else you need to do to play the game competently. (map awareness fails are luckily not terribly hard to spot when VoD reviewing, do the review first w/ your vision only, then with all vision and it makes it obvious when you could've predicted most moves the enemy made that you failed to react to in time).

Well league is 50% mental and 50% conscious effort. You don't improve by just playing and playing and playing over and over again. Especially important for top laners that they not only go over there own vods (Which don't go overboard, just 2 a day is already a lot), but you constantly watch people better than you play your champion(This one especially, I would do it 5 hours a day if possible). I got to D3 Top lane by doing a detailed analysis on the person I was watching every day, for 2 weeks, then I went into a streak of constant playing and averaged a 60% WR over that week of just playing and playing and playing
