Which is better for poking in general? I have a new poke build i wanna try but they look the sameish

Aery is basically for the laning phase and comet is for what WE called "poke" normally

imo, comet is just better for damage since it's CD is lowered by spell hits, having low CD spells is not a reason to take it over Aery. What Aery does well that Comet doesn't do at all, is provide additional shielding (so it's great for enchanters who want to provide more protection to allies, but not for mages that want to do damage).

the lower CD doesn't matter much considering how much more damage comet does and how quickly champions with short CD spells can cycle it. Aery is also somewhat slow to return early on (base speed 200, +10 per 51 units travelled) comet's CD is 20-8 scaling w/ level and it's remaining CD is reduced by 20% for single target spell hits, 10% for AoE per enemy, and 5% per tick of DoT. It comes up fast with spammable spells it has 30 base dmg v. 10 at level 1, and twice the AP ratio too.
