#To get better at the game should I play ranked or draft?

Me and my friends have a fear of getting into ranked because we might end up being silver or gold so we only play draft. But if I want to understand the game more and be better should I play ranked to play against better players or stick with draft until I think I’m good enough to play ranked?

The notion of being 'stuck' in ranked is a misnomer. You will eventually end up at your correct rank, with enough play (no matter how much people think/believe otherwise).

#

Keep in mind, the 50th percentile mark of the NA playerbase is in Silver 2, so Gold is already above average, and plat+ is roughly the top 15% of the playerbase.

gold being above average in na is so funny to me

Ranked, playing against people of similar skill level (where everyone is somewhat playing to win) is what will make you improve

Ranked is always a better option but care to not get tilted or won't learn anything

the fact that plat is top 15% in every major region (with a 1%~ deviation) is also nuts

ranked

#

who cares if you are low elo, if you care so much climb

id say norms is more useful for learning champions when just picking them up to get used to the mechanics since the games are a bit easier, but to learn game sense and stuff ranked is 100% better

You will be placed at whatever elo based on how well you do overall in ranked

#

Just play and see. Only way to find out.

#

Ranked can be fun but also frustrating. Remember your goals is all as it can be addicting.

you can learn the game in normals just fine

#

faker only played normals until the game couldnt find opponents good enough to play with him

i think ranked is better as more people take the game seriously than they do in draft

It's still similar

#

People take ranked and draft very similarly, the main difference is the matchmaking

#

There can very easily be a diamond and an iron player in 1 draft lobby

#

Like I was against an iron npc one game and the other game I was against a diamond gp

visibly similar but playstyle not at all, I'm fairly higher elo than my normal counterparts but I play it with my bronze friends and meme around playing like a bronze (if not iron) myself. No actual person I know plays normals and when they do it's to play galio adc kennen jgl and so on to have fun

From my experience same rank plays the same in normals and ranked
