#Does one trick helps climb??? even though I play a champion that needs skill?

I always been in between silver and gold 4 for 3 years and I really want to go plat and quit this game ( my goal was to go plat and quit this game lmao). I personally want to climb whatever champ I felt it was fun not bonded by meta.
I want to try jayce but i know im not skill gifted player (reflexes). Should I still try jayce or just stick with meta champ to climb??

Ps: if my question was vague, I will clearify here :). Is it worth to put time and effort on champ that I wanted to play even though it is off meta if I want to climb desired rank?

i like renek cuz he can end game early with strong lane phase and extend my turn with scale in early game
