#Why is Thresh not played more?

bcuz weak in numbers I assume?
also Q is hard to land bcuz of long windup
He's, by support standards, very styling and challenging, but unfortunately as a utility support does not end up with the satisfying scorelines at the end of the game. Most players who want to style on Support will go with Pyke or a mage, or just don't play support at all
also he is weak early
Why play him for his hook when you can easily hit naut or blitz hook, why play him for his lantern when you can just play janna or lulu for peeling.
He’s just way harder than most supports and is less or equally as rewarding
very hard to play for the average support player
you can very easily tell the difference between a shit thresh, good thresh and godlike thresh
CLICK THE LANTERN
If you dont talk about difficulty, Thresh is lack luster if his Q isnt hit.
Comparing to other Hook supports right, Thresh only has one other ability besides Ult that he can use if he misses and its just a small push back ability that slows after. If you look at Blitz, Naut, and Pyke, even if they miss their Q, Blitz has a really good CC ability that is just point and click, so you cannot miss that. Naut has a really good passive that roots and he is able to slow with E, also all point and click. Pyke is the only one that can be dodged or mess up just like Thresh, but his is able to stun, on top of giving him a great mobility. If you gave me an ability to have, Thresh E or Pyke E, I would rather take Pyke E.
His ult does literally nothing also, only great as a way to slow enemies that engage, or if you actually hit the Q, make the target basically a secured kill assuming they dont have an escape tool.
Though if Thresh is played right, he is much better than Blitz imo. But its very hard to play him right
Hard to play but very rewarding and good for one trucking (in high elo) just like Lee Sin, Azir, Ryze, etc.
