#Should I move onto a different role?

Hey guys, I recently got heavily invested in rank and have been trying to get out of bronze but I got tilted pretty hard and now im in b3. As a top laner, I know that my role is the least influential and the games that I do get fed, the other lanes get their asses kicked.

To get out of this elo hell, should i simply switch my role to a different lane? Start a new account and start from scratch? Change my champ pool (currently trynd, camille, and sometimes Aatrox/nasus and shen) I'm open for advice and criticism of my stats and what I can do to improve

Key to winning low elo games is play a champion that can hard carry the game if you think you have the potential to win. Dont play team reliant champions like Shen, play strong early game champions that can 1v5 late game like Darius. Don't switch out of your comfortable role, it's just the matter of how you can snowball your lead into a win.

#

Just Perma split all game if you're fed, if you're mechanically good with your champion, you will never die in low elo

I got out of bronze using top lane, play more garen, ugot

you can climb out of any rank on any role with almost any champion, so saying that you play top and you have no influence is just pure massive Copium

#

the first part in improving, is seeing and realising that you are bad

while i agree you eventually can carry yourself from any position. You got it harder at some. I am botlane player. I play only adc and support for several season and i have found you can decide games that are somehow even or in small deficit. But you will most likely not carry lost game. Recently i dropped from promo to plat 3 to GOLD 1 0 lp. Losing around 20 games out of 25. And most of them were absolutely stompfest and even if i played above average i will still losing because i was getting iked by 20/3 rengar. Got to a point where enemy teams were cheering me up about how they checked my opgg and feel sorry for me. It got better and i am back at the classic win/loss/ trades. But this streak showed me once again if you want to influence majority of games, you cant play botlane.. But since i play only botlane since season 1, i might have to accept i will not leave plat/gold lvl unless i find a great duo ( i play alone). JUST FYI i dont think i have skill higher then mid plat. But i sure know i am not a liablity on this lvl.

The champ and the role dont matter, you will grind as long as you play well

If you decide to switch roles i'd highly, highly recommend settling in on a role ASAP if your primary goal is to climb

#

Your LP gains and losses are fucked I see, as low as -19 and +13 I see

#

Making a new account would be a temporary fix to that... and there's a good chance it would get you to silver. But that doesn't actually help you get better, and eventually it's going to level out again

#

Your winrate over game duration seems to suggest you are good at getting an early lead (helped out a lot by champs like Shen and Garen), but you do not use it effectively

#

Hmm on second thought that doesn't seem to be exactly the case looking at other stats

#

You often end with high kills despite not snowballing early; your exceptionally high CS for your rank is likely to blame

#

That seems to be carrying you in many games, and if I were to guess based purely off looking at stats, you might not be taking the right fights (i.e. fighting when you shouldn't and splitting when you should be fighting)

#

You're having a lot of success recently on garen, so you might not feel comfortable with changing this, but I'd try and learn to take ignite over TP on garen, and practice trading/dueling more

#

I didn't check enough games to confirm if this is a pattern, but I did seem to notice a lot of games where both you and the enemy top laner were fed. I also noticed you get fed mid-late game after getting items from farming so well. It seems like although you are able to get strong, you might not doing enough to stop the enemy top laner from getting fed, despite playing a lot of champs who can abuse being strong early

Based on my very-likely-incorrect observation of your playstyle from stats, you might want to learn Jax or Fiora

#

They will scale better than Garen if you just farm it up for a while

#

but I think champion mastery is not the main problem

bot lane without a duo can be harder tho cuz u will sometimes be matched against bot lane duos

What I can tell you as someone whi was stuck silver for 2 years, and bronze the year before that, the key to climbing is coming to the realisation that you are bad at the game and working towards not being bad anymore, whatever that might be.

You want to improve macro, sure that helps since no one knows macro in bronze but I can guarantee that your lack of macro is not the reason why you are currently b3, there are things you can improve on much quicker than macro that will allow you to climb

thank you guys for the tips. Right now im gonna focus on my macro and ask myself when i should teamfight and when i should split

doesn’t rly matter the support either, i can roam with enchanters too like soraka it’s just the little things

#

obv some games that you just can’t control ofc

#

i think i’m low elo is mostly about controlling what your team does, people in plat below honestly don’t know how to utilize their lead or play behind

#

I promise mechanics is the least important factor about climbing in my opinion cause honestly mechanically i personally don’t see a difference from avg gold to diamond players they just know the game more is all not saying it’s not important though

I am in the same boat, This was my first year playing ranked and I have only played around 50 games lol (currently Bronze 2). I plan to start grinding ranked next season and intend on pushing for gold. This season I just dedicated myself to playing normals and learning the key fundamentals of top lane as well as picking a champ and sticking with it. The advice given to me from my plat/Dimond friends was pick a champ and stick with it. For me that champ was Shen. Although Shen in most cases can be team reliant he is a fantastic champion to teach you the importance of moving your camera/ minimap awareness. He is also a very strong lane champ that only gets beat out by champs like Darius and Aatrox. Shen is a great champ to play to get both yourself and your team ahead in gold and Xp. The only pain I have experienced with him is obviously having your team run it down when you have given them every tool to win is disheartening but that's just the way it goes! My limited advice is to dedicate yourself to a single champ and a single role. Don't let the Losses get to you !
