Welcome back to Riddler Wednesday!

Per last week's resounding victory all around, I think it's time we up the ante a bit! Let's see if you got what it takes to solve today's cryptic message, which would be ...

Upon the edge of cloud I tread
Where mortals gasp and angels dread.
My crown in curls, dusk-adorned,
I’ve bled for gods and kings I’ve scorned.
The timeless bear my name on throne,
The greatest beast of myth and stone.
What am I?

Remember, all who guess correcty will be rewarded 300 XP tomorrow morning! Just make sure to SPOILER your answer ||like so|| or else it may be removed!

||I've gone down a bit of a rabbit hole, and although my logic isn't sound I've looked at too much not to thrown out a guess.
I am wondering if this months theme centers around constellations/zodiac signs and the Bull would relate to Taurus. But then that wouldn't make sense based on bull being taken as an answer last round and Lion not. As I am leaning towards this answer being Leo the Nemean Lion. Maybe looking for a more specific answer or it's another one? A lot of the zodiac signs fall into the category of myth which would meet that part of the riddle. And if the riddle was alluding to the stars that would meet the first two lines. And the look of the lion, it's mane as a crown, and he fact that lions adorn a lot of royal signa would meet lines 3-5.||

Ok this is kind of left field but I think it might be ||silver|| or ||a silver lining||

Here’s why:

  • ||the edges of clouds is the silver lining||
  • ||mortals gasp at great amounts of silver or upon finding the silver lining in a poor situation||
  • ||angels are to be able to be killed by a blade of pure silver which could be a reason for them to dread it (or silver being associated with money and specifically, greed which is one of the 7 deadly sins which would surely cause angelic dread)||
  • ||the third line stumped me a bit but I think it could be referring to the silvery corona of the moon and the curly wispiness of fog or clouds that could be surrounding it||
  • ||the fourth line could be referring to the silver steel of a blade that bleeds its enemies dry in battle||
  • ||thrones are not uncommonly made with or gilded in silver, old people’s hair tends to turn silvery grey (seemingly timeless monarchs are often portrayed with silver hair), and ‘aging’ bears the letters ‘ag’ which is the chemical symbol for silver - that’s the best I can do for this line||
  • ||could again be referring to money and greed, the silver steel blade in war, or aging. Or this could be a reference to the silverbeast in bloodborne bc we’re all nerds here||

How it could connect to the monthly theme:
||last week was bull. I’ve been seeing people try and connect this week to Bull via constellations hence the swaths of Lion guesses and other such similar constellation and zodiac guesses. However, what if the theme is just stars in general? Not necessarily constellations? Bull = Taurus ofc. Silver could be how stars are typically described as silvery diamonds in the sky.||

Probably wrong but at least I tried and had fun doing it :3

I wish to edit my guess. I just realized it.

||The first line sounds like the creature flies. It fills both mortals and angels with awe and dread. Greatest beast of myth and stone? Could only be:||

||a dragon||

||Tons of paintings depict dragons. Bled for gods and kings I've scorned: that would be because dragons are classicaly creatures of destruction, thus why most lands send their heroes to end them.||
