DTM AU: Rise Of The Masters

Hello guys and welcome to my dtm au, Rise of the masters!

As the title suggests, this AU will be more focused on the masters and their daily goals and struggles.

I will use this topic to try to explain more about my universe, it is a work in progress, I am still thinking about how to adapt certain things from the lore into my AU.

I will update with images and information about the characters whenever possible. I have several and several important drawings to do these days...

With that out of the way I can start explaining how it all started!

About the Masters

I must say that this is exclusive to this AU. Here, the appearance of the Masters that you know are actually disguises.

The Masters themselves are divine entities, they use this disguise so that humans do not know their true appearance. (Since their disguises are so simple, their real appearance is up to the person's interpretation)

Everything started with Dan and Light Master.
Dan accidentally saw the Light Master's true form while he was meditating in his dojo.
After seeing the Master's human form, Dan got nervous and tried to explain but the Master just gave Dan a gentle smile and told him to sit down so he could explain about his appearance.

The Master then tells Dan that his appearance must be kept in secret and only those worthy could see a Master's true appearance.
Dan gets confused as to why he hasn't been punished or vanished in general for seeing the Master human form. The light master just smiles and says:
"Maybe... destiny is connecting us. maybe we're meant to work together. Maybe... you are meant to be my champion."
"Champion?"

"Oh, right. I forgot to mention.. but a Master can pick a chosen warrior to pass down their knowledge and powers!"
"That sounds great! So... have you found a champion yet?"
"Well... a Master only picks a champion when there's a massive threat or war that they can not solve alone. I've been in peace for the past years... so I don't think I need a champion right now.."

"but.. if I had to pick one, I would definitely choose you."
"Oh."

After talking a little, Dan decides to leave. But before he could leave the dojo, the master called him one last time.
"Also... I have a name. A real name."
"Wait.. your name isn't Light Master?!?!"
"Ha ha! That's my title, silly. My real name is Akio. Akio Shiroi."

"Akio... Okay! I'll see you tomorrow, Akio-San!"

now this is the time were I was supposed to leave a drawing of Akio's reference sheet... but I don't have one so.... I guess you all have to wait

Stage 8 continues normally until Josie meets with the dark Master after getting better from her negative thoughts.
When she was brought to the castle, Josie tried to fight her way out, but she was overpowered by the kings army.

The dark Master saw all of Josie's courage and strength, and with that, the Master became interested in Josie's determination.

Ah, cmon, making Josie the villain is a nice concept to make :))))))

In a secret meeting between the Master and the advisor, they are discussing if they should bring more villagers to run in the treadmill.

"So... is everything according to the plan?"
"Yes. But I have a question about the woman in black outfit. Is she going to run in the treadmill?"
"Yes."
"No. I have plans for her, bring her in here."
"What? No! You can just simply boss over me! I paid you! You will do as I sa-"

Before the advisor could complete the phrase, a sharp light blade stands in the middle of his eyes.
A pale hand, full of bandages, is holding the Katana. The rest of the person's identity remains hidden in the shadow. The only thing visible in the darkness is a pair of red angry eyes, staring directly at the advisor's soul.

"Do you really want to lecture me? You are not in control of the situation now, you never were. Send the woman here now, or else I'm gonna paint the floor red"

Completely terrified by the master's threat, he decides to obey the request.

Josie is locked in a cell, tied around a pillar. The man suddenly appears and unties Josie from the pillar, and takes her to the room where the master was. The advisor leaves the room and the two alone.

Josie is nervous but still maintains a fierce look in her eyes while gazing into the darkness.
Suddenly, a voice breaks the silence of the room.

"Bold woman. What is your name?"
"Er.. Josie.. what do you want from me?.."

"I have noticed your fighting styles and techniques... you are a strong being."
: "look... I don't know who you are and what you are planning... but you better don't hurt me.. "
"Hurt you? No... I want you to rise. I want you to be unstoppable. Join me, Josie.. and I'll make you the most powerful warrior that ever stepped in this place."

"But who are you?! How can I trust your words if I can't even see your face? What is your name?"
"... my name is Warui Kurayami. But people call me Dark Master."
The Master steps out of the shadows, revealing his true form to Josie.

"D-Dark Master?! How.. what?! I don't understand"
"This is my true self, and Warui is my real name. I know it may be confusing, but it isn't something you should worry about."

"But.. what do you mean about joining you? What do you mean, turning me powerful?"
"Simple. I have chosen you to become my champion."
"A champion? Does that mean I'll become your right arm?"

I pushed him around just for this dark Master scene, idk when and where I can put him back lmao (well... the au is centered around the masters so... Opsie :3 )

"A champion is like a representative of a master's real potential. You kind of give a taste of what it's like to face me."
"What.. no! I don't want to join you! I'll not work for you! Let me go!!"
"I'm sorry, but you don't have a choice... I have already chosen you, and that's all that matters now."
"No!! Get off me!!"

I mean, this Josie seemingly doesn’t want to be the villain, so that’s nice lol

Holding Josie's wrists, Warui kisses her forcibly. As Josie tries to get out of the hold, she suddenly stops trying. The master holds her while she seems to have fainted with her eyes open. The color of Josie's eyes turn red, indicating that Warui's powers have already begun to contaminate her. The master smiles, knowing that he now has a puppet that will do whatever he tells and will protect him at all costs.

So yeah, as you guys can imagine, Josie has been brainwashed by Warui's kiss. So, for now on, she will mostly remain silent, and death stares everyone. This version of her is her power up outfit! (Dan will also have one)

So yeah, Josie is the villain because she was forced to.

I'm sorry for leaving my au on hiatus for so long... I wasn't feeling creative or motivated to do so... (and also I had a lot of other works to finish it.)
But now, with the launch of the series 3, I'm back with the motivation!

er.. hello guys, i think i have everything i need to continue the story yipeee

okay so lets get to the storyyy

A few hours after the kiss, Warui decides it's time to test Josie's new abilities. He decides to fight his champion, and at first, Josie moves a bit awkwardly. It's as if her soul is fighting against the corruption and trying to regain control of her own body. The master realizes that if he wants Josie to be the best champion he ever had, he'll need to keep corrupting her.

"I feel like you're holding back... why are you reluctant to fight me?"

Josie just blankly stares at the master. (like this )
Inspecting closer, Warui notices Josie's eyes trembling. It was clearly a cry for help, even though no sound came out of the girl's mouth.

"Don't be afraid of me.. I want you to rise. I want you to become a better version of yourself. You will be unbeatable as my champion... and all those who have ever hurt you will kneel before you. Tell me... is there someone that hurt you in a way that you could never forgive?"

Josie continues quiet, but her entire body shakes upon hearing the question. She does have an answer, but she can't say it loud. she's completely frozen.

"I see. you don't have to say. When you face them, I'll know."
"..."
"Now... we should start to continue your training. I think this second kiss will make more effect on you."

Warui kisses Josie again, but she doesn't respond at all. but in the girl's mind everything is just chaos and despair. there's no one who could save her at that time.

While all of this is happening... outside the castle, Dan is seeing all the consequences of the kings army. Dan fights with the guards and with everyone to rescue all the kidnapped villagers.

Dan is almost reaching the castles gates, but as he gets closer, he notices something strange..
Amidst the red ninjas, someone really powerful is taking all of them down. Dan gets surprised seeing this person's habilities and the way they slash through all of the red ninjas. But Dan's surprises became more visible when he saw that the person was Josie.

Wearing a different outfit now, Josie handles a katana and defeats the whole red ninja group that was by the castle's gate. Dan approached but couldn't believe what was happening in front of his eyes.

Josie's attention gets to Dan as he comes closer. She still can't say a word, but she gets visibly annoyed with the presence of Dan.

"Wait? Josie?! What are you doing in here?!"
"..."
"That's why I couldn't find you anywhere! Who's behind this? The advisor? The king?!"

Josie still can not say a word.

"Josie... what happened to you?... Why are you acting so strange?..."
"Da-n... mu-st D-est-roy..."
"Wait, what?"

Before Dan could say something, the woman rapidly approached the ginger ninja, forcing him to dodge a dangerous attack from Josie's katana.
She still moves in a weird way, but she appears to be taking more confident steps in her attacks

I suddenly hate Warui with a burning passion but holy crap this is awesome lore

Dan is shocked by Josie's swordsman, but he can clearly see that's something wrong, it kinda looks like it isn't Josie anymore.. why is she moving like a puppet?!
Thousands of questions flood Dan's mind, but before he could realize, Josie's already up to Dan's face.
She manages to hurt Dan with her katana. Before Dan could rest from the sudden attack, Josie uses a special move and rapidly cuts her opponent.
The special attack isn't much stronger, but it's enough to incapacitate Dan from fighting further.

Dan couldn't believe what Josie had become. With his wounds starting to bleed even more, Dan is forced to quit the battle.

"Josie! I will discover who did this to you! And I promise I'll bring you back to normal!"

Dan starts to run away, and Josie tries to strike another special move, but the dark Master in his disguise appears and stops her.

It's time to drink water and go back to the story

After the battle, Josie and the master come back to the castle. The advisor calls him to talk in private. Warui leaves Josie sitting in a corner and goes to talk to the advisor.

"So.. did you manage to bring Josie to your side? How did it go?"
"It was the best decision I had. If I had listened to your stupid idea, I would have lost such a talented vessel."
"Urg... how was I supposed to know? And.. what did you do to her? Why doesn't she respond at all to the outside world?"
"I've started to transfer my powers to her, but I can't tell why she's in this catatonic state.. Maybe my power reacts differently to each person... I'll see if I can try to make her less dead inside."

While they are talking, Josie is just blankly staring at the floor immersed in her mind. Inside her head, Josie's soul tries to fight back Warui's power that takes the form of a black silhouette. But Josie is starting to lose grip of her body, as the dark silhouette gets bigger and bigger in front of her, taking control of part of her mind.

Coming back to Dan pov, he manages to arrive at the light Master's dojo, pleading for help.
Akio is shocked to see Dan so hurt and readily helps him with his wounds. Now that Dan is out of danger, Akio asks him what happened, and Dan tells the master that Josie has been acting strange and that she was the one responsible for hurting him.

"Wait... Josie did this to you? But how?"
"It was Josie... but not the Josie I know... it was like someone was controlling her... it was Josie's body. But mentally, she wasn't the girl I met.

The master sweats, as if he had some ideas of who might be behind Josie's state.

"Dan... I might have an idea of who might have brainwashed your girlfriend..
: "THEN TELL ME WHO IS THIS AND ILL RIP THEM APART!!!

"When you were fighting her, did you see someone odd near?
"Now that you mentioned... while I was dodging her attacks, I think I had the impression of seeing dark silhouette at the top of the castle... "
"... then my guesses were right... Dan, this dark silhouette you saw... he's my brother."
"WAIT WHAT?!?!? YOU HAVE A BROTHER?!?!?! "

"NO! I won't let that happen!! Akio, you have to help me!! Teach me how to save Josie! Transform me into your champion!"

The master looks at Dan, which desperately waits for an answer. He looks in disbelief to the ground. Disappointed by the actions of his brother. He knew Warui would only stop if he's dead.

"Dan... I don't want to fight Warui... he's my brother.. I grew up with him.. it hurts to know that this will only stop if he dies.. but.. I don't want this to happen.."

"Akio... I know he's your brother, but he's turning Josie into a zombie.. who knows what other things he might do to her? We need to stop him now! And... If you can't bring yourself to kill your brother, then at least fight to the point where he's incapable of fighting back."

"..."

The master becomes immersed in his thoughts, slowly creating a plan to stop the madness of his brother. After a while, Akio stands up and agrees to team up with Dan to defeat the dark Master.

"Dan... you're right. We need to stop Warui! I'll make you the champion of the Light!"
"YEEESS!! THAT'S WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!! Now.. how do I get your powers?!"
"Ah, er.. so... about that he he.."

Suddenly, the master becomes blushed as he can bring himself to talk about the power transferring process

Dan gets curious to the sudden change of the Master's tone

Uh-oh....I think I know what's coming....

"er.. Akio? Why are you so red? The power transmission is something so... 💀?"
"Er.. not at all... it's just that it's kind of a funny way.. to transfer it... so.. we basically have to kiss..... "
"we what? 🏳️‍🌈⁉️"

"Look, it's just a kiss! And it's gonna be fast!!"
"BUT WHY KISS?!!? I THOUGHT IT WAS LIKE.. MAGICAL HAND AND BOOM I HAVE YOUR POWERS!!"

Okay, so this is canon in my au one whooray for the insert ship name here

When the two kissed, Dan started to feel something flowing through his veins.
He not only noticed that he feels stronger but also his wounds have healed very quickly. Dan becomes even more excited to face the dark Master with his new powers

"woah! I feel it!! I can really feel it!! Thank you, Akio! Thank goodness we don't have to kiss aga-"
"it will happen again before you finish the phrase. :)"
"YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING MEEE-:

So, time passes, and the masters train their champions to the unavoidable battle. Dan becomes so strong that he now has a power-up transformation just like Josie's.

Now, er.. this was supposed to be the time where I post the champions reference sheet... But i don't have them done... so you guys will have to wait a little bit.. sorrryyyyy

After months of training, Dan and Akio are finally ready to face their opponents! Both of them are using their powerup transformations.

They head over the castle, which is almost falling apart after so many failed attempts of the red ninjas to invade it.
(Also, the light master is disguised when heading over it)
Entering deeper into it, the castle, both of them hears someone getting closer. Walking through the shadows, Josie appears in her power-up transformation. Dan couldn't recognize her for a moment because of her new appearance. Joining her, Warui comes next and is also powered up.

"Warui... it's been so long since the time I last saw you..." *reveals his true form
"You haven't changed much. I knew this battle was unavoidable."
(Now that I see the dark Master's true form... he and Akio really look alike..)
"Warui.. why are you doing this? Why pull Josie to your evil deeds?"
"I have my reasons. You would never understand."
"No.. I do understand. You never really opened yourself to me. Everything about you is kind of a mystery to me, ha ha.."
"How can you be so calm in a situation like this? It's like you don't even care.."
"Says the one that transformed their champion into an empty husk. Ha ha.. How ironic.."
(How can Akio say that smiling so serenely?!?)
"I've had enough of your sarcasm, brother. It's time for us to solve this once and for all."
If I have to fight infinitely with you to make this stop... then I'll gladly do it.
"These scars are here for a reason... and Josie.. don't disappoint me." Said the master to Josie's ear

||(Guys should I make Dan have a katana too? Or should his fighting style be like the soul binder of maplestory 2??? Just asking...)||

The masters and the champions are ready to face eachothers but something stops them suddenly...

A light starts to form in front of them all and then... a voice starts echoing from it...

"Akio?!?! Who is talking?! It seems like they know you! Akio?"
"it... it can't be real..."
"This voice?! You must be joking..."

Dan starts to get super confused, seeing the Master's reactions upon hearing the mysterious voice is making him more apprehensive

??? "I saw it. If Akio and Warui fight infinitely, they will only create chaos, destruction, and catastrophes... it is my duty to stop you two from making such a huge mistake."

Then, a shadow steps out of the portal

??? "This disagreement has lasted too long."

A feminine silhouette steps up from the portal and lets the portal light shine through her katana's blade.

I miss the time when everything was simpler, and my cousins ​​and I lived life like normal kids. I mean... at least for them.
I've always had this condition, which makes me unable to feel or express any emotion. People look at me and say I'm strange and cold, and others say I don't care about things... which isn't true.
I do care about the people close to me, I just can't show it.

The happiness of eating delicious food... the frustration of not being able to win a game... I've never felt any of that. And seeing my cousins ​​feeling it so naturally made me feel like I was broken... I wasn't living... I was just surviving. Just existing. The two are the opposite of each other, and yet they manage to live in harmony... but what about me? What am I?

I've never been able to find a cure for my apathy... not even when I separated from my cousins ​​to focus on my training was I able to feel anything about that situation. At that time, the both of them were training with their masters to become their champions... I have never met a Master and I separated from Akio and Warui because I went on an adventure to actually find a master who could teach me and be their champion.

It ended up that... I never found a Master who could teach me... but I learned that my cousins are destined to fight in an infinite fight. And with that, they will cause nothing but destruction and chaos. They are equally powerful as the new masters and their fight could mean the end of this region.

When I learned about this, I decided it was my responsibility to stop them. So I learned by myself some techniques and magic about lighting energy and dimensional travels. So.. for a long time... I traveled through several alternate realities and tried to stop my cousins' endless fight. I faced several alternate versions of them... I've seen a sadistic Akio, a repentant Warui... but in all the realities I've been to, I've never been able to stop the two from fighting. That's because their champions always stopped me. I traveled a lot, and I've seen everything... but none of them was I able to reverse the ending. and it continued like that... until my adult life.

In the end, my apathy is like the fight of my cousins. both will never end.

Then, I ended up realizing that I always failed to stop them because I didn't have a champion... so instead of training alone, I spend a lot of time trying to find one for me. I have met a lot of strong warriors... but none of them managed to adapt to my interdimensional travels...
some didn't come back whole, others lost some part of their body while others didn't come back at all. I created a small shrine with some of their accessories in honor of these brave warriors who risked their lives for me.

In the end, I'm alone and with no hope to find someone who could help me with my mission.

But recently, I have been seeing some rifts and portals opening right next to my place... and from that portals... I hear voices. A voice of a man... maybe... this is a calling.. maybe my champion is inside that rift! I need to see that by myself.

*lighting sounds and crashing can be heard in the entire room

The portal took me to a peculiar place... it seems that interdimensional travel is quite common around here... now I just need to find the man whose voice I always heard coming from the portals.

Okay, little fellas, I'm going to continue the story!
This time, I'm gonna rewind a little bit and tell you guys about Ayane's pov

It all starts in legitimate research..

Passing through the corridors of legitimate, Ayane walks calmly while receiving looks from the scientists. Some are confused, others are afraid, and others are visibly surprised. As she walks, the master ends up stopping in front of a large window where scientists are testing some gadgets. The girl gets fascinated by the advanced technology of the place, but before she can do anything, a group of 3 scientists come to give her a message.

"er.. excuse me, miss, but legitimate research is not open for visits."

"Yes, and even if it were, you still wouldn't be able to visit. There are some areas that's strictly forbidden for unauthorized people to enter."

💜 "i didn't come to visit... i'm looking for someone. and walking around the place is part of it.. I can't find them just standing by.."

"Er.. but still, miss. You can't be here! Please, I can show you the exit."

When the scientist grabbed Ayane's wrist, He suddenly didn't feel it anymore. When he looked, it only had some Sakura petals on the floor. He then noticed that the girl was now inside of the facility that had some of the gadgets she was looking at.

💜 "This little thing can help me create portals? That's interesting..."

"Yes ma'am! It is a camera portal! It can open portals to any place you want! You just have to take a picture of it!"

💜 "Would you mind making another one of this for me? Then, I wouldn't have to waste mana opening portals anymore."

"Sure ma'am! I'll separate one for you!"

"Miss!! What did I say about entering on forbidden areas?!?!?"

💜 "Hey, don't worry... I'm just seeing what kind of technology this facility has."

"Girl, still!! You can not enter wherever you want to! This is a secret laboratory!! This place is not open for some random!"

"Im sorry, sir, but this ma'am dresses way too unique to be some random person.."
*Ayane confirms with the scientist opinion by raising an eyebrow.

"I'm not asking for your opinion n° 621490!"

💜 "I'm sorry for the kind of things you have to go through in this place.."

"Don't worry, ma'am... you'll get used to it."

"Miss.. for the second time. Please, let me show you the exit!" Ayane teleports

"Sir! She did it again!!"

"WHAT?!? HOW ARE YOU DOING THIS?!?!?"

💜 "This is starting to get annoying..."

The master teleported to outside of the room she was in and just continued to walk throughout legitimate. Among the screaming scientists trying to convince the girl to leave, a scientist with a cracked helmet hears all the mayhem and decides to take a look at it. When he turns on the corridor, he sees a tall lady with kimono trying to get away from the science crew. Craig then comes to interview the scene.

"Hey, hey. Guys? What is happening here?"

"BRO, THIS MISS DOESN'T WANT TO FOLLOW ME TO THE EXIT AND SHE JUST KEEPS DISAPPEARING!!"

"Stop insisting on holding her wrist! That's harassment!"

"Well... she doesn't seem bothered by it!"

💜 "I could very well chop your grabby hand off. But I'm avoiding getting myself into trouble.."

"... you what? 💀"

"Guys... don't worry, I'll take care of her right now.. Lady, follow me, please.."

💜 "Thank you.. I was starting to think about cutting his hand off."

"So... Is it this one? He's Professor Brains, Legitimate's owner."

"There's another guy that fits into your description, but I don't think he's here right now..."

💜 "He doesn't work in here?"

"Actually, no, he just comes here to fight Brains and get him and the others into trouble... but he's a nice person..."

"Hello guys! Barry Steakfries is back!!"

💜 "!! It's him! The voice I always hear from the portal!"

"Wait... that voice? That's Ba- Wait.. LADY!! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?! DONT RUN IN THE CORRIDORS!!"

Ayane starts running throughout the facility, and she graciously double jumps over some scientists and boxes in the middle of the way, determined to find the man behind the voices she heard every time a new portal appeared. Every step she took, it got closer to the voice. When she turned left on the corridor, Ayane saw a tall, strong man with short spiked hair, using a blue suit with its sleeves ripped off. When the master saw the owner of the mysterious voice, she knew he was the one that could help her on the mission. Craig reaches her right after.

"Pant, pant LADY... PLEASE... DON'T RUN LIKE THIS ANYMORE... PANT, PANT, PANT... I almost couldn't reach you... oh, hi, Barry."

💜 "It's him... the voice from the portal..."

"Portal? Voice?... Craig? Who is this lady, and what is she talking about?"

"Oh.. right.. er.. Barry, this is... uh... I forgot to ask your nam-"

💜 "Ayane Gurei, はじめまして。 "

💜 "Some dimensional rifts have been appearing at my place, and I always heard your voice coming out of it. It's a signal.. you are my champion... it's finally happening..."

"Your champion? What do you mean, Ayane?"

💜 "I'll explain you later, but to resume it, I basically need to train you to become a stronger champion. In that way, you'll eventually become my right arm! But I would have to bring you to my home in order to do that. Please, Barry kun, take my hand and go with me."

"Go... with her?"

"Ah.. but.. do I have to leave everyone behind? I kinda like blasting my way through legitimate and flying around with my jetpack..."

"Barry, I don't want to intrude myself, but you've been doing the same thing over the past 10 years... how can you not grow weary of it?"

"Hey.. it's my vocation! Besides, with you around, I always get into some news adventures!"

💜 "Please, Barry, this is important... if you can handle time traveling, you can always go back to legitimate. I'm not gonna lock you in my place.."

"Hum.. I don't know Ayane.. I need a very convincing answer from you for me to accept your proposal."

All of a sudden, a loud burst interrupts the conversation. Professor Brains had finished his creation to defeat Barry, being it another gigantic robot. He evil laughs at everyone and stares at the trio.

"Hahaha!! I managed to create a master piece!! Barry Steakfries, prepare to your doom and...
Barry, who's your friend over there? And why does she look like a gacha character?"

"Idk mate... but she got the drip."

💜 "Man.. why is everybody calling me like that?... But wait, Barry! You want me to convince you, right? If I defeat this guy in less than 20 seconds, will you go with me?"

"LESS THAN 20 SECONDS?! NOW YOU GOT MY ATTENTION LADY! Craig, start counting!"

💜 "Okay.. 5 seconds is all I need."

"Wait.... she said that?"

Out of the sudden, Ayane pulls out her katana and disappears right after it

"Wait.. where did she go?"

A loud burst can be heard in the facility, and 6 giant energy balls are floating around Brains robot. In almost a blink, the balls form an eletric prison while Ayane slices through the robot parts like paper! The energy balls explode, and brains is sent flying from the robot that was reduced to a bunch of scrapped metal.

The master graciously stands on top of the scrapped metal while looking at the boys

"4 seconds and 87 milliseconds..."

💜 "Is this enough to convince you, Barry kun? Do I have your attention now?"

"NOT ONLY HAVE MY ATTENTION BUT MY APPROVAL AS WELL!!!! LET'S FREAKING GOOOOOO!!!!! I WANNA THROW ENERGY BALLS TOO!!! "

"MPHHMM.. MHPMDKNSL"

"Honestly, Brains... that was a record. This was the fastest defeat I've ever seen."

Ayane steps down the pile and reaches Barry, who jumps enthusiastically around her, asking non-stop questions. Since the battle was a little loud, some scientists came to see what the sounds were all about. Including the scientist who promised the gadget for her

💜 "Ok, I have your approval... but that means... I'll have to do it.. we have to teleport to my place..."

"And what's the deal, Ayane? You seen a little reluctant.."

💜 "Well.. my previous champions' attempts didn't make it through my dimensional travels... and I'm afraid that you are gonna be just one more..."

"Heey! Don't worry, I'm strong! I can handle it just fine!"

💜 "All of them said almost the same thing."

"Hey ma'am! I brought your camera portal you've requested me! I also brought an extra one just in case!"

"Oh! See Ayane? I can use this and go to your home! I just need to know how this works.."

💜 "You have to take a picture of the place you are in order to travel. I have to bring you home manually."

Ayane is kind of reluctant. She can't bear the idea of losing another champion, but the idea of bringing someone else to her place still terrifies her.

She looks at Craig, who waits a response from the master

💜 "I can't promise you anything, but if I were you... I would say goodbye to him."

"With you speaking in that mourning tone, I'm starting to get nervous... Barry.."

"Craig! Don't worry about me! It kinda seems that you don't know me!"

Barry hugs Craig one last time while the master creates a portal by slicing the time and space with her Katana. Ayane can't bring herself to look at Barry. She just wants to go forward and not look back. She enters on the portal first, and Barry jumps right after. The travel is kinda dangerous, with a lot of thundering and space distortion going on. After some swirls and twists, Ayane lands safely on her home. But... everything is silent.

She slowly stands and looks around in hope to hear Barry.
Nothing.

She waits a little bit and looks at the purple galaxy that engulfs her place.
Nothing.

The master looks down in defeat. It's not that she was expecting something to be different this time. But the idea that things could have been different just gave hope to her.

💜 "I knew it. I will never be able to stop my cousins fight...
I am a failure. "

Out of the sudden, a distant voice can be heard inside the portal, Barry comes out of it and falls to the ground like a ripe fruit falls from the tree.

That surprises the master, who looks behind curious.

Barry scratches his head, as some Sakura petals fall around and on top of him.

"Ow... now I understand why you were so nervous.. that was quite dangerous..."

Ayane's eyes widen and she realizes that finally, after years, she managed to find the perfect champion. She kneels down and hugs Barry, who doesn't understand anything.

We know that Josie is in a catatonic state because of her fighting Warui’s corruption, but what would her demeanour be like if she had given in faster? Would she be more calculating and malicious?

Also what would’ve happened if Dan managed to kill Warui while Josie was under his control? Would she then never be able to recover back permanently?

After looking at the vast galaxy, Barry decides to enter Ayane's Dojo, where he is greeted by the master in her training clothes. She hands him a Bokken and proceeds to say that at that moment she will teach him the basics of swordsmanship. Barry gets excited and takes off his jacket and tie to participate in the training. Together with Ayane, the apprentice repeats everything, paying close attention to every move the master makes. After a while, Ayane decides to test Barry by simulating a serious fight. Barry positions himself, thinking that it is all fun and games, but reality hits him right in the face in the form of a wooden katana. He realizes that the master was not joking when she said it would be a serious fight. No matter how hard he tried, Ayane always found a way to knock him down and point out the mistakes the man made. After taking more than enough beatings, Barry desperately asks for a break to breathe.

As they walk through Legitimate, Barry finds Craig again and he gives the scientist a big hug. He quickly explains to Craig about Ayane's magical portals and how they need a weapon to produce them to save the master time and mana wasting. The scientist states that he no longer has access to Brains' gadgets since he has already hidden them all from anyone else's reach but him. Barry then speaks close to his ear so that only Craig can hear and by the scientist's reaction it seems to be something that not even he expected. Ayane just looked at the two boys waiting for them to share something with her, Barry starts walking ahead and Craig decides to talk to the master to update her on the conversation.

💜 "So... what did you decide?"

"Look... your smooth talking must be something out of this world... convincing Barry to go back to a place he was banished from, is not something you see everday. Your reasons must be very important..."

💜 "But it is. If he doesn't become my champion, the world as you know it may never be the same again. And besides, he was the one who came up with the idea and... wait a minute, what do you mean 'banned'?"

"It turns out that the owner of the lab banned him after he did something stupid in there. I have no idea what it was, I just know that he came back very traumatized."

💜 "Okay, so... why didn't he just apologize to them?"

"His ego is so big that it prevents him from apologizing or admitting that he was wrong. He'd rather take it to the grave and simply accept that this problem has no solution than to face whoever caused it."

Ayane gives a slight smile at the corner of her mouth, before she realizes she's smiling for the first time, Barry interrupts the moment saying that they had arrived at the place. They get down and the lady notices that the place just looks like a regular club, the master gets confused but Barry reassures her that this is the place that the portal gun is hidden. He sees a big sign that says "NO BARRY STEAKFRIES INSIDE." he quickly gets in front of the sign so Ayane can't see it. Barry asks if she can get them inside, he could easily force his way in, but the last time he did it, he had to face the consequences of his actions in the worst way possible. Ayane holds his hand and they both teleport into the lab. The place is like a big party hallway, with several scientists wearing big coats, glowstick necklaces and bracelets, colorful accessories, glasses, headphones and clothes that glow in the dark. The place is very lively and fun because of the electro-swing music that plays as background music. Some dance and move to the rhythm of the music, including Ayane.

💜 "Ok now I understand why Brains wants to hide his stuff here... but I just don't get why you don't like it here, Barry? This place doesn't seem like the hell you said."

"The problem isn't the place, Ayane, It's the owner..."

The music suddenly cuts off and the lights go back to normal, all the partying scientists are now looking at the two strangers standing in the middle of the hallway. A jet sound can be heard approaching and Barry hides behind Ayane in a very stupid way. The master sees a girl with an asymmetrical haircut landing with comically large jet boots, an oversized coat, LED visors, headphones and crossed arms.

The conversation ends when the trio arrives on a private sector, Vybra opens a door that leads to a big dance party room. The girl states that the room they are is her personal dance room, she comes there just to vibe, dance and groove alone. She adds that hides hers and Brains stuff in there since a few people know it's location. Barry finally gets rid of the 8-bit musical note of his mouth and asks:

*RIIIP!! "OW!! That hurts like hell!! But where's the portal gun hidden, Vybra?"

🪩 "er... so.. can you guys not hear the password of it? Or at least pretend? Bun-xy, open secret safe of disco room..."

Barry gets super excited about the things in the safe and the girl already knows that when he gets excited, things go from bad to worse, especially in laboratories. She keeps taking his hand away from the objects and this escalates until the two start arguing again.

While Barry and Vybra fight, they end up distancing themselves and eventually leaving the safe, Ayane sees this opportunity and decides to close the door with them outside. Barry and Vybra are left alone on the dance floor and the two despair knowing that they will have to stay there at Ayane's mercy.

"HEY HEY HEY!! AYANE WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!"

"Come on mate, stop messing around! I told you that you can't have empathy for a villain!"

It's time for Barry Steakfries to know how to fight properly since he's too weak in the game.

The girl charges at Barry, throwing colorful tiles that cut like a razor. Barry manages to dogde them all but when Vybra gets near him, things starts to get a bit difficult. The girl fought like never before, most of her attacks were kicks, hence the huge boots. Up until then, Barry had only been defending and dodging her attacks, but when he took a hit from an explosion of pixel tiles, he realized he had to do something. Vybra threw more razor tiles in his direction, but he dodged them and approached the girl to deliver a well-aimed punch to her stomach. The Raver's coat closed around her body and absorbed Barry's punch, it was as if he were punching a balloon. Vybra used her jet boots to distance herself from him, bouncing against the wall to gain momentum and deliver a flying kick. He managed to dodge and the two began a physical fight again until Barry managed to land a punch on the girl's face. Realizing that she had actually been punched, Vybra responded with an elbow strike, a knee to the stomach and a headbutt, making Barry's nose bl3ed almost instantly. Still a little dizzy from the headbutt, he tries to recover from the attacks but the girl comes skating like a lightning towards him, thirsty for revenge. Inside the safe, Feddy is creating the new accessory for Ayane while listening to all the chaos outside.

"Er... ma'am, is there any way to turn down the noise of the fight outside?"

💜 "Uh... Bun-xy? Can you put on some calm music in here so he can concentrate?"

🐰 "Look, I know I should just obey Vybra-Nyte, but... I'm also tired of this nonsense. So I'm going to make an exception just for today."
(good vibes song starts playing)

"Now we're talking!"

Barry is starting to get tired of the constant capoeira attacks and pixel explosions at a very fast speed. He tries to grab her neck, but the girl creates a magical path and skates over it, leaving a trail of light wherever she goes. Vybra starts flying towards him and grabs him, starting an awkward fight in the air. The two exchange punches and Barry ends up losing his balance and grabbing onto the girl's boots. Trying to get him off her feet, she swings like a bird caught in a trap. Vybra throws a pixel tile towards him, but Barry grabs the tile and places it over the shoe's outlet. The boot starts to overheat and the two despair. Barry lets go moments before it explodes. Vybra falls to the ground awkwardly, losing her other boot and her visor.
Regaining consciousness, Vybra realizes that she has lost her visor and despairs. She tries to get up but ends up falling again. In the fall of the explosion, she twisted her ankle and needed help to get up. Out of the corner of her eye, she sees Barry grab her visor. Defeated, the girl crawls to the corner of the room and hides her eyes with her arms. Seeing the girl in that state awakened something in Barry, and it wasn't pride for what he did. He slowly approaches her and crouches down to be at her eye level.

🪩 "Come on... what are you waiting for to make fun of me?"

"I'm not going to make fun of you... here."
Barry places the visor on her lap and Vybra quickly places the visor over her eyes.

"It looks like you really need them..."

🪩 "Not necessarily... I can just express myself better with them on but... I... I don't want anyone to see me without my visors. It's weird..."

"It looks like you hurt yourself badly in that fall... do you want some help?"

🪩 "I-I don't need your help!" She tries to get up but ends up falling again.

"Vybra... I know we started off on the wrong foot and I was a fool to disrespect you. But ugh... Ayane... is right... let's start over, and this time the right way."

🪩 "And how do I know you're telling the truth and this isn't a little show to trick me?"

"... It's up to you to choose the people you trust."

🪩 "..."

"I'm sorry."

Vybra calls out to Bun-xy and just points at him with her nose, asking for a scan. And to the Raver's surprise, the bunny confirms that what he says is true.

🪩 "Look... despite what people say about you... I believe you can be someone better. I want to believe. But it depends on you opening yourself up to receive such changes. And... If this is the beginning, then I'll happily open the doors for your change."
Vybra accepts Barry's help, putting her arm on his shoulders, she struggles to stay upright and walk.

🪩 "Oh man... how am I going to play my dance step games like this?"

"Hey, relax! You're strong! I guarantee that in a few weeks you'll be 100%"

The girl walks a little but ends up falling to the ground again, Barry decides to carry her in his arms to speed things up, making both of them blush. While all this happened, the scientist managed to finish Ayane's new gadget just in time.

"Ok, ma'am! I managed to finish your commission! Here's your newest and fastest portal maker!"

💜 "Thank you! I learned a lot from you, but will it really be able to open portals to places I know?"

"In theory, yes, ma'am. And look! Are you listening to this? Total silence!"

💜 "One of two things. Either they killed each other or they finally made up!"
Opening the door, the master comes face to face with Barry carrying Vybra-Nyte in his arms while they avoid eye contact.

🪩 "Yeah... we called a truce."

💜 "See? I told you a Raver wouldn't be a big deal."

"Tell that to my bl3eding nose and my broken rib."

🪩 "I also see that you managed to create the thing you wanted... I hope I did the least to help in your mission.. Bun-xy, call the nursing team, I'm all messed up."

"Vybra... once again, forgive me... I didn't want you to end up with a broken ankle... I HAVE TO SAY THAT YOUR CAPOEIRA MOVES WERE THE MOST EPIC EVER!!!"

🪩 "he he... it's okay... just the fact that I'm hearing you apologize is already a victory for me."

the nursing team appears in a vehicle at the lab corridors and Barry sits her on a stretcher.
🪩 "I'm going to think long and hard about your restriction here... remember that this is more of a maybe than a certainty."

"SERIOUSLY?! So someday I'll finally be able to come back here without being a 5 star wanted?!?!?"

🪩 "Eu vou ver e te aviso. Oh Flavinho, tell everyone that Glow Zone is closing early today."

the vehicle then moves on and Vybra says goodbye to the duo. Ayane just looks smiling at Barry who waves happily despite being all screwed up.

"what's wrong Ayane? why are you looking at me like that?"

💜 "Yeah... congratulations Barry, you're already 10% better human."

"So Ma'am, do you want to test your new accessory?"

The master agrees and, a little scared, she thinks about Legitimate and presses a button on the accessory. Then a portal opens on the floor giving access to Legitimate's corridor. The scientist encourages her to jump with him, which they both do together and fall directly into the lab's corridor! Ayane is surprised and hugs the scientist who hugs her back. She asks if Barry would jump too, but before he can finish the sentence the portal closes. The scientist says goodbye to Ayane, happy for having done something that worked for her and Ayane feels full of hope for a promising future. The master is eager to tell Craig the news, but before she can start looking for him, a raspy voice calls her from behind.

"Hey... aren't you the girl who destroyed me earlier today?"

Now, without further ado....sit back and relax while I do all the typing....

-# “Heh, well, I can’t believe I’m explaining myself to y’all, but I got to do something. My real name won’t be revealed yet till….future purposes…now anyway, I guess it’s time for me to explain.”

“As a kid, my parents usually told me that I’m a special kid, my mother says I’m a miracle, and my father says I’m a treasure, but to me…I’m just an ordinary kid, just like others, that was….

…until they noticed that I kept clenching my eyes not once, not twice…but daily. They took me to the doctor, and he had a quick conversation with my parents after an examination. I only heard him say that I was slowly losing my vision and that my vision was so bad…that I was recommended special glasses….

… My parents were apprehensive about me, but they usually tended to hide it from me; I could tell it easily, which made me worried. Well… in the past, my parents tried to give me siblings…but it didn’t go to plan, and my mother had not one but two miscarriages. I guess now I know why my parents were so worried about losing me…

…Three days went by I went to the optometrist to get some glasses, After an hour of trying every single pair, they all didn’t suit me much, I was about to try another one when I had something in my mind, I grabbed a piece of paper and drew out a little blueprint to how I thought my glasses should resemble a hawk. The optometrist did give me a skeptical look, seeing how…creative I was, I did trust him and he trusted me, so he agreed and decided to work on it, and after a few days it was delivered, I immediately tried it on and my life flashed instantly it felt like I was a new person all over again, everything was…going smoothly…

… That was until seven years later when I started high school. I thought everything would be alright, but I guess the popular kid had other plans. Yet he was a popular kid whom I called the “Top” Boxer. He often just…bullied me…but that wasn’t the only thing that I suffered…

…the popular kid’s girlfriend who I normally call her “The Princess Cheerleader” joined in the bullying section as well, she would often just spread rumors about me to her friends that I only wore my mask to show off, and that I was faking my blindness, they would even just tease me and nobody wanted to sit next to me at class or lunch cause I was a weirdo, even worse the popular kid and his friends hid my mask for almost an entire day and I was walking around like a headless chicken, everyone just laughed at me…But I still remember their laughs to this day. I tried teaching them something by throwing a bucket of water at them…and it didn’t go according to plan. In my mind…I always thought to myself…” Did I make a mistake? ”....” Why do I do this to myself? “.... “ Am I just better without the mask on? “... I had a lot of questions….and I still wonder right now…even on top with my other questions…

… after countless amounts of bullying, I went home early, but it was not for a good reason, my parents were worried for me because my teacher called and said I wasn’t in class, but they both saw me beaten and bruised…I still remember my parents' expressions when I came home and told them the same words I know to this day…I broke down, but I never told my parents who beat me…and I still feel guilty about it…

…After a few days and some of my bruises healed, my parents decided to move somewhere so we could have a fresh start, yet my parents were fine with the decision, I still felt my past trauma coming back, I normally just stayed in my room and isolate myself even if my father or my mother persuaded me to go out; yet I did go, I never hang out with other people…oh and about my mask, I didn’t felt like wearing it….I just feel a negative pulse inside me…following me…

…Two months passed, and I decided to stroll by myself. Still, as I was walking, I bumped into another woman probably almost around her young adult era…she told me that her name was Josie, and yet…even though I felt like I was “fine” inside I wasn’t….and she could tell due to my expressions…so she asked politely, if we can take a stroll together and have a slow conversation to one another. I was skeptical at first, but I decided to agree on it…Since I had nothing to do…

…After a few minutes, while walking with Josie, I built enough strength and confidence to explain everything. I mentioned to her while holding back tears, how I was bullied in my old school, about the rumors and teasing to the point where I was beaten up because everyone thought that I was just showing off my hawk mask and I was just faking my blindness, and yes I did tell her that my mask was my glasses….and I also told her that even though if my parents and I moved, I just tend to stay in my room and think to myself…” am I just better without the mask…” and every time I look at Josie’s expressions…she’s not only worried or concerned about me…she’s understands, and she can feel it in the inside too…

….After I finished explaining everything I went through, and while wiping my tears…Josie explained to me that…I shouldn’t believe what other people say, and yet even though I’ve gone through a rough past…I shouldn’t think so much about it, let it go, and focus on the positive stuff. She also mentioned that if anybody tries to mess with me again, she has a thing or two about teaching them a lesson…Yet I knew that Josie was joking around with the last part, but for the rest, she did hold some very good points, and as I was calming down, I knew in my mind that there was a chance that my life would turn around in the future….

… A few weeks passed, and my “negative pulse” had gone away. I went out more and hung out with Josie, and every weekend we sat under the cherry blossom tree and had conversations with one another. After a while, Josie asked me if I had ever done martial arts before. I remember my mother asking me the same thing…But I guess I didn’t hear since I was depressed. I didn’t want to ignore Josie's question, though…so I just shook my head…she later said that there was a pagoda in the distance and they were teaching karate there. She resumed by saying that they’ll be starting tomorrow, she did ask me if I wanted to though. I was skeptical at first, but after countless instances of bullying, I decided to give it a shot…

…I went home early and after a conversation with my parents that I wanted to take some karate classes, and after some thinking, they agreed…And of course, I loved the experience, even though it was my first time there, I felt something that burned inside me, unlike the other students there…it felt like I’d done this before, every form I did, I felt flames around me…My sensei also noticed this feeling as well….and when we finished our class, my sensei asked me to stay for a bit, I was confused at first, but I didn’t say anything I just nodded, after waiting he asked me if I wanted to take extra private lessons, I was a bit skeptical…and I didn’t say anything I just stayed silent my sensi notice that and responded, “Trust me...it will be for the better good.” Those words he said still stuck with me…and after a lot of thinking, I decided to agree…not only I was taught the ways of self-defense, but he also taught me different ways of chi and even training different ways of wielding a wooden katana, yet I was exhausted, I had something urging me inside…determination…

…. I kept on training until 10 years passed by, and I became an experienced samurai. I went back to the dojo thinking I was going back to my usual routine, as I went inside and noticed that my sensei wasn’t normally meditating…I looked around room-every-room until I entered his bedroom and only noticed a letter and a katana strap holder hanging on the side…I grabbed it and went to grab the katana holder off the stand and placed the strap. I turned it around and noticed some Japanese writing that translates to “Golden-Hawk”.....I was confused and I wondered…” Why did my sensei have this? Since he never even told me about this ”....after a lot of thinking, I put the katana holder around me and decided to read the letter….When I read it, I couldn’t stop crying. It explained that he decided to move on, and the cherry blossom petals guided him in the afterlife...It also said that this letter was dedicated to me ever since he noticed me on my first day in class…he knew that I would become the next samurai…As years passed, I was normally the only one coming into the dojo since everyone was normally busy or moved on….After I read the letter, I felt devastated…I looked at his bed only to see his straw hat. I grabbed it and wore it in honor. I also looked at the katana, took it, put it in the katana holder, and left without looking back…

…After a bit a mourning, I left the dojo I went to go and visit Josie atop the waterfall, but I didn’t see her there. I only met an unfamiliar person sitting there, he noticed me and went down and stared at me…I remembered his cold glare piercing through my soul, it felt like I was repeatedly stabbed in the chest….he pulled out his katana without saying a word, and with the same glare, I could tell that he wanted to battle me, and without hesitation, he struck….

*… The battle I’ve done felt like it lasted forever…every block I do, he finds a way to strike, every strike I hit, he blocks as fast as lightning…I’ve been fighting for so long, that I never notice that I’m wasting my energy from every blow I do, making my speed slower and myself easier to target…and after many devastating blows I took, out of the unexpected he released a powerful blow and yet I blocked it, I felt our katana’s clashing so hard it created a sonic boom I was pulled back almost falling off the edge, but when I looked at the man he didn’t even flinch…As I was about to approach him…I instantly fell to my knees, and it felt like all of my energy was drained from that…I managed to stand up…but when I looked at my katana, the clash was so hard it almost broke entirely, leaving only the cherry blossom design visible….I looked back at the man as he was slowly walking towards me…he mentioned something to me that gave me chills down my spine…." You’re not the one I need…" he quickly dashed at me and kicked me so hard causing me to fall….the last thing I remembered is that the man just walked away from the edge and that’s all…before I got knocked out from the pressure of the water….I never knew what happened next…. *

…I remembered waking up washed ashore in an unfamiliar area…I struggled to stand up after I got beaten and wounded from my long, brutal battle….I noticed my damaged katana on the ground, I picked it up and started wandering around while limping at the same time….I kept on walking for hours in the blistering cold, trying to seek some aid and while I was looking, I noticed a wooden house in the distance….as I was slowly walking, my vision started to get blurry….I kept on going…but after that….I passed out once again…

…I later woke up again, and I looked around…I was in a house…made out of wood, I looked at myself….all the wounds I had…they were all bandaged…I kept looking to see if someone was there…As I was slowly about to get out of bed, I noticed a man….probably in his late 40s…in the distance, waiting for me to wake up…I said nothing…because I thought he’d attack me….or something worse…but he responded by saying that he brought food for me, and he also mentioned that if I was being bothered by him… he’d give me some space…as skeptical as it seems, I did trust him….but I still didn’t say anything…so I just nodded…. I can tell from his expression as he was walking by, I knew that he needed some company, so he gave me the food, grabbed a chair, and sat down in front of me….

….While I was eating he told me that his name was John Woods and he told me that he was the one who saw me passed out in the middle of the snow, he also told me that he took me in and bandaged my wounds, he also mentioned that he looked at my katana, glanced at it for a second and slowly placed it back…I was confused, cause I mentioned that it broke, and he later asked if he could fix it…I asked him why, and he responded that he’s a weaponsmith...well, was…he paused for a minute or two, and it became an awkward silence, and from his expression…I could tell he was upset…I asked him if we could have a slow conversation with one another, he was skeptical but he agreed, I slowly explained to him about myself the same stuff I told Josie…he later told me about his life after his wife passed away from cancer and that his daughter was a professional sword-fighter but she had to go for college and leave her fighting-skills behind, which made him alone and depressed…after when we talked to each other, I felt his pain since I was depressed before. I told him that yet even though he had gone through a rough past…you shouldn’t think so much about it, let it go, and focus on the positive stuff, the same words that Josie also told me...and I also promised him that he’ll meet his daughter once again…he smiled at me and said “Thank you” and I can tell from his expression he needed a conversation with somebody…

…A few weeks had passed since extra training and a bit of sparring with John, I decided to find my way back to the village…John gave me a basket full of food for my long journey. I did refuse at first, but he insisted on having it…I thanked him, and as I was about to go, he stopped me for a second. He went into the house and grabbed my katana, which was wrapped in a cloth…he unraveled it and showcased it with the repaired katana holder. He told me that he fixed it after I damaged it alongside the holder. He also put a little token at the end of my weapon and even handed me another one because he was grateful after our conversations. I thanked him once again and we promised to one another that we’ll reunite again in the future….

…As I walked, I turned around and waved goodbye to John one last time before I resumed my adventure…I kept thinking to myself that after what I’ve gone through….I put that behind me and now focus on the present & future…but still my curiosity runs inside me…I always thought…what happened to the village now, after when I was washed ashore...will it be the same or will things go differently…lots of thoughts circled me…but I’m sure what happens there I’ll make sure to finish the task…”
